  • Heather Nova, born Heather Allison Frith on July 6, 1967, in Bermuda, is a Bermudian singer-songwriter and poet known for her extensive career spanning over three decades with more than 2 million albums sold. Raised on a sailboat, Nova’s early exposure to music came through playing guitar and violin, leading her to write her first song at 12. After studying film at the Rhode Island School of Design, she moved to London and embarked on her music career.
    Nova's debut EP, released under her birth name Heather Frith in 1990, marked the beginning of her recording career. She adopted her stage name with the release of her first full album "Glow Stars" in 1993. Her breakout album "Oyster" in 1994 led to extensive tours and increased fame, particularly with the hit single "London Rain" from her follow-up album "Siren" in 1998. Her involvement in the Lilith Fair highlighted her prominence among female indie artists.
    Nova’s music also features in several film soundtracks, enhancing her visibility. She continued to release albums into the 2000s, including "South" in 2001 and "Storm" in 2003. Her discography includes live albums and an experimental album of her poetry set to music, showcasing her versatility as an artist. Nova’s latest works maintain her status in the indie music scene, with her most recent album "Other Shores" released in August 2022.
