  • How-to fix cars with a diagnostic scanning tool. If you want to be one of the popular mechanics who can auto scan a car computer watch this. Auto technology isn’t that complicated with this DIY OBD2 Scanner.
I’ll be testing out the Topdon Artidiag 500S scanner on a 2015 GMC Yukon XL 5.3 with a check engine light and a 2006 GMC Sierra 4.8 with the air conditioning not working.

I have an 05 Chevy with the same AC problem and have been trying to determine if the AD500 would read it. This video answered that better than any documentation or other reviews. And it also gives me hope that it will give me some insight on an SRS light too! Thank you for the indepth review!

      Glad it was helpful.
Check the impact sensor connectors underneath, they can get cruddy.
Undo the fuse box under the hood and pull it out, the terminals are known to corrode.
My AC issue was a leaking valve, easy fix.

I notice this scanner has the exact interface as my Thinkscan S4 OBDII, both made in China....Same product different name I believe. Yet my Thinkscan S4 works great. and costs less. this one has 2 more reset functions though.

    Just got this.
However, every option I select will automatically go back to home page after about 2 seconds so haven't been able to use it at all

Make sure it is fully charged and all of the programs are updated. If it's still not working return it.

It handles all cars with OBDII so it should work fine.

    Well, didn't find my car

That's disappointing. What car did you try it on?
I know the VIN search doesn't work on every year and model. You can type it in.

      Yes, it updates regularly.
You don't need WiFi while you're using it but you should check for updates regularly.
