I always love Dutch's "I gave Zeb a job" when the certificate plug at the start happens lol
I like how dutch has his cigar in his hand for a while before he smokes it lol
Example of "So Corny It's Good" = Any movie Bruce Campbell is in!
Bubba Ho-Tep lol...... Of COURSE The Evil Dead movies I prefer Evil Dead 2... Army Of Darkness was ok I guess. But he really is the KING of the campy horror B Movies.
lets gooooo! thank you guys. God bless
Mattress Mack is an amazing person. He has given so many people help when they needed it.
@@BeeBumper Yes, he has been in business since the 70's if not longer than that.
The story from Bruce Prichard about how Mack saved his company by going on and doing a heartfelt going out of business ad on Houston Wrestling after most of his stuff was destroyed in a hurricane was a great one.
big time mega church preacher Joel Osteen refused to help people during a massive flood and mattress mack (jim Macingvale or something like that is his real name) let a bunch of people into his massive store to take refuge. Really quite a difference in character between those two.
I've been through this entire podcast front and back and I still haven't hear one mention of teddy Hart which is the title. Did I sneeze and they said Ted hart has a documentary, next topic? WTF
Im from a couple hrs away from Toronto and at least where I live most people would know the name Brett the Hitman Hart. In the states even if your not a wrestling fan you hear the name Hulk Hogan and you recognize it.... its the same here in Canada with Brett Hart.
Its so uncommon to hear someone bring up Titanes en el Ring. It still remains the most over promotion here in south America, and it was wacky as hell back in the day. Cheers from Argentina!
34:00 In America, the big attraction around Bret Hart was Owen. Owen had a personality equal to a Hogan, Macho Man, Flair, etc., and Bret played so well off of Owen.
I'll never forget how Owen called Austin an animal lol. "HE'S AN ANIMAL AN ANIMAL" lol. I think Owen did that him AND Bret to get Austin to break character.
With all due respect, Dutch, there must be crack in that cigar if you think Bret Hart was not an all time great in the ring 🤨
Brett had great ring psychology and probably was near the top of wrestlers who could tell a story in the ring with his wrestling skills. The problem is that unlike Hogan, Flair, Rock, Austin, Macho Man, etc. there was something missing that those wrestlers had. Maybe it was the level of charisma although Brett did have charisma. Or it could be that those wrestlers were larger than life for lack of a better term whereas Brett focused on in ring work.
@@jasonh5547 Hogan was a walking talking freak of nature. That is what Bret Lacked. His promos were never as bad as people claim. He just wasn't a top tier promo but neither was Shawn in my opinion... losing his smile and acting like a 12 year old. What made Bret great is how believable he was and he came off as real unlike Hogan with punch punch what you gonna do brother leg drop. It is the one thing me and Shawn agree on. Hogan's leg drop was just so "devastating" sarcasm
@@BeeBumper One could argue that even thirty-five years ago when a super plex and other moves taken for granted today was considered a bona fide finishing move that the leg drop was sort of underwhelming. Which is ironic since Hogan was booked as very dominant. I never felt his finishing move matched his dominant booking.
I’m curious what the hatred is for. Jealousy/personal issue with him or someone/people in the family?
@@jasonh5547I wish they would have had him use his finisher he used in Japan. The Axe-Bomber. It's still only a standing strike/lariet but at least dudes can sell it like death. Do the super bump flip if they are light enough or the standing k.o. lights out topple for a bigger guy
Instead of just flopping around / kick your legs like you just threw your baba on the floor. shameful for any champion to get the scarlet letter so to speak with one of those standing to ground moves. if you're not off the top ala macho then just don't do it. Looks so much stronger simply not to
Much like the peoples elbow it just looks like a bit of a joke.
The guy was Cas Walker in knoxville
ahhh yes Billy. Tyrus vs Trevor Murdoch is JUST like Bobby Lashley vs Brock Lesnar. The tens of fans in attendance and the hundred fans on pay per view went wild
And yes, please bring Jamie Dundee on. If nothing else, it'll be entertaining to see how you handle keeping him on track.
@@BeeBumperyeah, he is a disgusting scum bag. there is not a single redeeming quality about that dude
Dutch Mantell JCP career 8/10/86-3/29/87 advertise until 4/30/87 Kansas Jay hawks(Bobby Jagger's & Dutch Mantell) vs New Breed (Chris Champion & Sean Royal) .
At that time JCP bought CWF,UWF & CSW and started the wrestling network thing......
Brian Danielson vs Austin. Not sure if they've "rassled" or not
No Dutch it's the first time you didn't see the invisible man
Dutch Mantell WCW career 3/26/90-7/21/91
I don't think 10 people bought tickets to see Road Dogg during his career... lots of people probably enjoyed his work while waiting to see who they bought a ticket to see.
Bring in Texas Dirt please....The Dirty Dutchman is a bit backwards on Mania 13, which was held at Chi-Town's Rosemont Horizons and also the NWA is nothing BUT Sports Entertainment and that's why Aldis left. And Bret Hart is my favorite Babyface wrestler and his '96/'97 were absolutely great years.....don't wanna be excellently executed by The Best There Is, The Best There Ever Was and The Best There Ever Will Be. IN YOUR HOUSE:FINAL 4 had a pretty famous 4-Way main event btw.
Clay was TV champ for over a year before heavyweight champ
Just like every match in AEW looks like highschool kids playing cirque du soleil
Jamie Dundee should not be on any wrestling podcast ever
yeah, he really is an embarrassment. i watched about five minutes of the interview with him and that was more than enough
Tyrus doesn't need the belt. The only thing I watch from Fox regularly is the Gutfeld show. Tyrus has the charisma to be over based on how he communicates on that show.
You should be embarrassed to admit that you would watch gutfeld. that show is pathetic. Among a variety terrible, unfunny late night shows, that one somehow manages to stand out as remarkably bad.
@@djangofett4879 It's the most watched late night show on cable. Better than meathead Kimmel and his ilk.
ZEB was created in the office of pat patterson when he waxed a stooge named waynes moustache, right dutch..lol.
Road Dogg is a flash in the pan compared to bret Hart. road dogg says he doesnt get it and he is right about that. he doesn't get it.
😂Dutch, Cornette, Jeff Jarret, Jim Ross....is there any great creative mind in wrestling that actually likes Dave Meltzer? 🤔
Great show - rock, austin hogan drew more than bret but bret wud be 4th in 90's - on R dogg..you absolutely knew wat he wud say, he said the same for his enitre run
Yeah Bret recognized Austin as being the next big thing. THANK GOD he put Austin over like he did.
Where is Maria Manic these days? It seems like Teddy messed her head up so bad that she's quit the business and gone into hiding. Or therapy.
WrestleMania is in COMPTON this year? WTF!?!?
And you can bet your bottom dollar the lazy, uncreative tools at WWE will be doing "Straight Outta Compton" puns.
I don't agree with road Dogg and dutch.....Bret to me was more entertaining than road Dogg, I liked road 🐕, but Bret is way better. Bret top 3! Road 🐕 maybe top 100
I'll sell my books of his for 10 bucks .. they suck
Sorry Dutch but personally I think you’re absolutely 💯 wrong when speaking about Brett.
PWG is a small indy WHAT are you smoking....usual sellout of 600 at Globe Theater, do the math. PS MUCH BIGGER crowds in PWG then TNA EVER HAD. They did 400- 600 on their best night...Who wouldnt rather go watch old PWG then old dutch booked TNA (Some of the worst booked wreslting since Vince Russo )
Oh and the big deal about Bret was he was the son of Stu Hart. THAT is the big deal.
Yeah because Bret never accomplished anything on his own 🙄. I know it is cool to minimize Brets accomplishments. You are so edgy
@@BeeBumper Nah just swyin Bret had a leg up as far as making it because of STU. Had he not been Stu's son he would have been another what Vince considers "Small" guy fighting for a spot.
@@hansjuker8296 I aint gonna disagree there..... The shit they did to ppl wasn't right I agree but that was the climate for decades in the business. It proved u had to be a little crazy to begin with to come back after they beat the hell outta you the first time.
Gee thanks $20 for a autograph
What do people get from having another person's signature? They're even worse than selfies which you know the famous person doesn't really want to take but at least they're of some use to some people..
The reason Bret Hart got over was because he would give out his pink sunglasses to a kid at ring side before every match. Thats why he got over, as that was also before he got as much mic time.
yeah, sure.... he is the most highly regarded wrestler among a massive section of fans and its all because the sunglasses. amazing theory. really Einstein level analysis there, dude.
I bet he was talking about Jim Cornette at an hour and 24 mins in, talking about calling the woman a rat. Doesn't it sound like Jimmy Crack Corn? 👀 And I'm a fan of the guy, he's very fucking funny, just, thinks Democrat means what it did in the 1980s and goes a little bit overboard when he gets feelings about something that rubs him the wrong way, but something about that just SCREAMED Jim Cornette. Then he says the guy's name was "Jim or something"
I don't think so. He likes Cornette and compliments him a lot. He also worked for Jim as a commentator.
Dirty snitch mantell! Don't tell this guy ANYTHING you don't want to see on CZcams
He is sleazy isn't he? Something suspicious about that Brody situation. He leaves and THAT'S WHEN fuck face says "Can I speak to you in the shower senior?" And then Dutch takes Brody's share? Mmmhmmm "Dirty" Dutch indeed.
I think ya boy Dave on the same shit Tony on😂😂😂
Wrestlers vary rarely practice before the show. If it's a risky, difficult spot, they just rely on the adrenaline from the live show to carry them through it. You'll very rarely see wrestlers practicing spots in the ring before a live event.
Yeah at most they discuss it first but if ever there is something new they want to try they may try a run through
Dutch has one of the top 3 wrestling podcasts in the business. I'm so glad I found it. Amazing story teller
