- Set your white balance on your Sony Camera using the original lens/sensor cap. I discovered this hack a while back so I decided to do a quick video about this.
Now this shouldn't replace the use of a gray card but I definitely think this can be a nice hack to know about! - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Awesome tip, thank you!
No worries, thanks for dropping a comment!
Nice hack, thanks for sharing.

👍 Solid info
Thank you 🙌
I usually set the white balance manually, but it's critical to use cards when setting different cameras with different lenses that might have warm tint or cool tint and result in different WB results. Nothing can't be solved in post though.
Yeah true, as long as you don't push your white balance too far it's usually recoverable.
Would it work better if you fill more of the frame with the lens cap?
It can help I think, but as long as you have your image exposed well, it should capture the correct white balance. 👍
as long as the orange bracket is filled with the grey its fine
That 18% gray is made for exposure not for white balance. I watched the rest of the video and I see you made that point. Also that cap is reflective which it should not be selective for white balance or exposure.
Yeah I think it explains why it doesn't setup the white balance 100% correctly.
Maybe I'm missing something but I always do auto white balance and I love the colors straight out of camera.
Why do you need to reset the white balance?
With auto white balance you can have color shifting while shooting video, that's why it's always advised to shoot with manual white balance, that way you'll never have to worry about it changing in the middle of a scene.👍
@@fabvisions Ah I see. Thanks for the clarification.
@@TerraThink no problem at all🙌
for several years now, i have been permanently shooting with the daylight setting at 5500K and have not had any color/white balance issues since.
@@LadyFairChildVideowhat happens if you wind up shooting under tungsten lighting and your shot looks too yellow? Or you’re in the shade and it looks too blue?
Clearly it depends on the conditions you’re shooting in, but if you don’t have control over the lighting, 5500k won’t be a perfect solution every time.
This 🤌🤌🤌
🙌🙌
Slow down
You mean speak slowly? I think you're right, i was in a bit of a rush haha. I'll keep that in mind for the next video. Thanks for the tip. 👍
Speed was good, I wouldn't't want it any slower this was a straight forward hack that didn't need to be any slower, thank you
@@Limitless_Media thanks for your feedback 🙌
Agreed. Your speed is ideal not enough CZcamsrs getting to the point.
@@KyleAndrew thanks Kyle, really appreciate your feedback. My main goal was really not waste too much time. 🙌
