      Duster 3 is build on the CMF platform also used for Nissan x-trail, and with improved electronics. Expect better off road capability, but no more than an AWD can give.

    Since December 2019 I have Duster 1.33, 150hp 4x4 and I'm happy with it!. For what I see from new duster 3 specs, things that bothers me are engines and 4x4 system. I had hopes for like Renault Austral"s E-Tech full hybrid 200hp one :) Or at least for something between 150hp and 200hp. I really don't want to go lower. Maybe I'll wait for Bigster to see what will be there... At least for now I will stay with my current one.

  • @thepub245
    @thepub245 Před 7 měsíci +5

    Most people are not going to buy a 4x4 Duster to tackle something like the Camel Trophy. I am sure it will just fine for muddy fields or snowy slopes.

  • @Bashi88
    @Bashi88 Před 7 měsíci +4

    I don't like the idea of mild hybrid and that's the only option for 4x4. But I guess they had to lower the emissions somehow (at least in calculations).
    But then I really like the option of heated steering wheel and windshield, both will be really great options here in Finland.
    I really hope that they would create plain petrol automatic 4x4, but also I am 99% sure they won't 8-)

    Diesel has gone. They are not willing or able to modify the K9K to comply with Euro 7. That is my guess. My main concern is the torque and towing weight limit. I was prepared to consider the 150hp 1.3 petrol. I hope the Bigster addresses these issues.

    We have the Duster 2 Tce150 now, pretty happy with it! Like many I was disappointed about the choice for a lighter engine for the 4x4! Now the hopes for a more powerful engine are focused on the Bigster.
    Meanwhile I hope that the sleeping kit designed for the Duster 3 will also fit the Duster 2.

    You´re are a real expert and raised most important issues👍 However I do not understand why you are so optimistic about a manual handbrake. Could´n´t find it on the video. The fact that an electronic handbrake knob wasn´t shown doesn´t mean anything as you can place it wherever you want. I guess they will use the 2wd handbrake solution, anything else will be more cost intensive.
    Correction: just dicovered it at 4:41 😁Still have doubts.
    "10% lighter" - keep on dreaming: do you now any new car which ist 10% lighter than his predecessor? My best guess: it will be 50kg heavier...
    Regarding wheels: due to the higher diameter you can use 17". To my understanding you have more 17"-tire options? At least in germany...
    And as you asked: No, I stay with my TCe150 4wd - unless you have your car and show us how much better it works offroad 😉
    Cross my fingers for you.

    Is the 30 Nm less torque when you include the electric motor of the mild hybrid system? I don't know much about cars mechanics, but isn't it possible that the electric motor plays a role in keeping the offroad capabilities pretty good, despite the weaker petrol engine?

    • @DusterCoolTravels
      @DusterCoolTravels  Před 7 měsíci +3

      The mild hybrid system doesn’t have an electric motor that gets power to the wheel. It just helps the start stop system so it will reduce the co2 emissions.

    I have the 2020 duster, 4wd 6speed with the petrol 1.6. I hope i'll be able to afford the exchange to the 2024 4wd this coming spring.
    In this country, lebanon, it's sold as a renault duster. And i couldn't gind any rear diff lock here to install it on mine. One problem with it's design that happenef with me, when plowing snow enough amount got through the hrill under the bumper, pushed the radiator and broke it so i had to gabricate a perforated steel shield, installed it from the lower steel guard to the inside of the bumper, then re-installed the grill and bumper. Plus in my area i find it needs refuction, or shorter first 2 gears, due to steep inclined roads, and the kind of snow we have.
    At the end, i'm kind of happy with it. Only wish is to be able yo exchange to the 2024, or to find a rear locker.
    Oh and thanks for your vids. 👍🙏
