  • Learn MikroTik RouterOs Tutorial Series (english)
    The DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is used for the easy distribution of IP addresses in a network. The MikroTik RouterOS implementation includes both server and client parts and is compliant with RFC 2131.
    The router supports an individual server for each Ethernet-like interface. The MikroTik RouterOS DHCP server supports the basic functions of giving each requesting client an IP address/netmask lease, default gateway, domain name, DNS-server(s) and WINS-server(s) (for Windows clients) information (set up in the DHCP networks submenu)
    In order for the DHCP server to work, IP pools must also be configured (do not include the DHCP server's own IP address into the pool range) and the DHCP networks.
    You will need any one of these Mikrotik routerboard router for this tutorial:

    This worked great with the exception of once I got a lease from the new pool I was unable to connect to the router with Winbox. I flushed DNS, released the IP and renewed, I couldn't figure out how to connect to the router with the new gateway address.

    This was invaluable. Thanks.
    I have been able to put the WiFi [DHCP] router on a separate WAN [DHCP-derived] address, totally separating the WiFi router from the domain network (the house Mikrotik 1100 does not serve DHCP addressing on it's "regular" LAN ports, as addressing is (and must be) handled by our [older] Windows SBS server).
    However, I subsequently noticed that I can no longer connect to Winbox from PCs connected to the new DHCP port. (Nor can I connect through a browser to the gateway IP address.)
    Which is not a deal-breaker, but is there a way to connect back to Winbox from the 2nd DHCP address pool?

  • @Cockroach2008
    @Cockroach2008 Před 7 lety

    When you create the second network address at 4:07, you address it with a 24 bit mask. Then at 4:20 you add a 24 bit mask again. Is this really necessary? It seems you can't add a mask when setting a dhcp network.

    Great tutorials, however a very important part about using multiple DHCP servers is NAT and getting internet access to these separate networks. you have no tutorials on NAT. PLEASE do a second part to follow this video. I cannot figure out how in all the available setting to get internet access to my fully functional in every other way secondary network.

I want to unbridge for me to shape the speed but it seems like when i unbridge the port, the connection it lost. Please help me. I did this tutorial all day but no luck. I wonder what seems to be the problem. Thanks a lot. Regards

    Hello, I have configure my microtik to only allow specific MAC address with their ips to the network. However I have some computers that have two ip addresses i.e 192.168.1.211 and 192.168.20.30. They are unable to connect. Is there a way to assign two ip addresses to a specific MAC address so that they can access the network?

      @stelioskourtis8700 Před 4 lety +2

      By default it should be able to see or ping from network 5 to network 6.. What u have to do is create 2 Filter Rules
      IP->Firewall->Filter Rules-> Add + ( Rule A: Chain forward, src address 192.168.5.0/*, dst address 192.168.6.0/* action=drop && Rule B: Chain forward, src address 192.168.6.0/*, dst address 192.168.5.0/* action=drop). Thats how i did it !!

      This will enable you to have multiple networks on your router. Example, WiFi user could be on 192.168.1.0/24 and LAN users on 10.0.0.0/24

      Ok thank you in advance but is that each hotspot will be specific to connection mode? Let's say if the different people wifi or Ethernet will have a single page of hotspot quite specific that will be presented to them according to the terminal by which they will connect ???

    • @TKSJa
      @TKSJa  Před 7 lety

      That will work only if you are running multiple hotspots.

    A Bridge is a VLAN. and Vlan's ip is the Getway IP for DHCP pool.

      A Bridge is not a VLAN, although it behaves like one.
