    Awesome vid mate. Just moved into the area and the place is just magical.

      Cheers mate, yeah it’s a beautiful place especially if you’re into fishing, no need to travel far out from the beaches at all for a good session of fishing, plenty of productive land based spots too.

    I look out there almost everyday early morn, need three hands to count the boats/yaks. You've got it to yourself, the Perfect Storm.

    Hey mate, firstly, great video... Would you be able to make a video about fishing for beginner's, like a getting started for beginners video. Here's the important part though. Without any lingo, or with the lingo explained. Every vid I've seen, they've used lingo which I have no clue about and I'm sure there's HEAPS of other beginners out there who are looking for a similar video. You're calm, you explain things well and most of all, I'm going to go kayak fishing in that exact spot now lol. I just don't know where to start with fishing. Long time Yaker, newbie fisherman.

      @@johnnyfisho6788 hey mate, so I could easily google it but I'll ask you instead. Get some comments on your vid etc... Where can I find out the length of fish that I can keep or not keep. Also if I have a lure, do I need bait for it?

    • @johnnyfisho6788
      @johnnyfisho6788  Před 4 lety

      Teo Grehan hi, you can go to this website www.daf.qld.gov.au/business-priorities/fisheries/recreational/recreational-fishing-rules and click on Size and possession limits on tidal waters. For lures you don’t need to attach any bait to them, they are designed to mimic bait 👍

      @@TeoGrehan sounds like you should do some homework before going out on the water. we don't need another marine rescue happening...

    Hey bro, please give us a in depth of your rigging for each vid. like a good 30 seconds of, "this is my lure, I am using these sinkers and my line is this with such and such leader". It would make your channel grow and it would help me learn.

  • @TeoGrehan
    @TeoGrehan Před 4 lety +1

    Hey does anyone know if I were to be in the same sort of area. About that far out, can I use lure? Or should I be using bait?

    • @johnnyfisho6788
      @johnnyfisho6788  Před 4 lety +1

      Teo Grehan you can do well with both, I personally prefer bait like pilchards, prawns, chicken breast pieces. Lures like soft plastics on jigheads can do alright there too. Zman grubs are good to use out there.

    Can you fish in Hays Inlet in a yak? Where are the shallow reefs?

    • @johnnyfisho6788
      @johnnyfisho6788  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah you can fish in hays inlet in a kayak. The shallow reefs are in the front of Redcliffe and Scarborough.

      @@johnnyfisho6788 Thanks bud. I'm stuck fishing and paddling during school hours. Do you think it's worth the paddle and trawling the lines anyway? I saw you used pillys. Lures any good out there? I'm really keen to head up that way next week, weather permitting.

    • @johnnyfisho6788
      @johnnyfisho6788  Před 2 lety

      @@AlysonLewis Did you mean paddling and trolling lines in hays inlet? i guess so yeah if you’re main target is flathead. Me personally id goto the shallow reefs and fish there with bait. Hard Lures and plastics will work (plastics more so) but in my opinion baits like pillies or mullet flesh or prawns will work better.
