You can have the shittiest day and all you have to do is put on any episode of The Honeymooners, and you can't help but have a huge smile on your face.
I'm only 36, my mother, rip, just this past year turned me on to this show, I watched it with her on her death bed just last September. For that reason, this show will always be bittersweet for me.
After 65 years or so, this is still funny. Much more funnier than the crap on TV or the movies now and the past 20 years or so. Gleason wrote all the scripts. He never rehearsed. A genius.
You had to laugh. That dingy ass apt, and he always accused Alice of lying around in the lap of luxury, lmao. When he died, all the bus drivers in Brookyin blew there horns for one minute in tribute, to him, because he always portrayed them as good hard working people.
I have an idea about Brooklyn and buses. Why not name the Williamsburg Bridge Bus Terminal the Ralph Kramden Bus Terminal? Anyone else with me on this?
@@johnschaefer2238 HEY YEAH! PERFECT IDEA!!!!!!!!!!... and the entire sewer system of NYC : The Edward L. Norton Sewer systtem of NY embossed on ALL the manhole covers! !!!! SUPER COOL!
Larry you’re killing me I thought I had a great idea but yours is even better! Remover the Honeymooners episode where Ralph and Ed both took the tests to get promoted. Can’t remember if it was Ralph or Ed who said in the episode “If we’re successful you’ll be running things above the city and I’ll be running things underneath. Our ideas would be the perfect complement to that episode. My hats off to you with that comment!
When you think about what incredible comedy they performed on this one set, week after week, it is just amazing. I don’t know why they snubbed Gleason for an Emmy. I could watch these episodes over and over.
And it was filmed LIVE ! No room for mistake . Also Jackie Gleason hated to rehearse . His performances were of the highest quality ,as was Art Carney's . Magical chemistry between the two men.......
@@johncopeland3826Yeah exactly. See this is when all sitcoms were performed in front of a studio audience. I think Gleason would make subtle moves if he forgot a line but the way it all flowed one would think it was well rehearsed. They were amazing actors.
I’m with Ralph. Alice should have stood with her husband. Her Mother did nothing but provoke him - especially talking about other men she could have married. But still funny as Hell! Today’s shows don’t come close to the talent displayed on this show!
'Norton -- pal'-o-mine come on down I wanna tell you how it came out...' 'COME ON DOWN NORTON!!!!! COME ON DOWN NORTONNNNN, I'm waitin' for you pal come on down.' LOL
All I have to say is The 99,000 Answer. Mr. Kramden who is the composer of Swany River? Ralph responds Humana Humana. The host says Jose can we hear a few bars? More Humana Humana then Ralph replies Ed Norton! I fell off the couch with that response when I was 8 and been watching that show regularly for the last 57 years. They called him The Great one for a reason and Carney was the perfect foil for Gleason. The best words I can think of to use for The Honemooners is a quote by The Great One himself How Sweet It Is!
that would happen to Ralph, all he had to do was ask Norton what the name of that warm-up song he always plays and that would be it, but....@@johnschaefer2238
I thought you were dead. How is it over there in the after life? Do you get free cable and internet? What types of food do you guys eat? Or do you even eat at all?
Ahhhh this brings back so memories of when I was in my early teens. Me and my oldest sister would watch the honey mooners all night during the summer. Episode after episode. Time flies but the memories of us spending hours watching this will never dissipate. Miss you big sis. See you in eternity.
I have watched each and every ep from the classic 39 at least 2000 times each (not kidding) and I still laugh at all of them...just the greatest comedy duo and series of all time imo...
Laurel and Hardy are overrated, still good, but not amazing. Who’s on first? Haha! The guys name is who! Hahahahababanahabbabanahahababababababahuahahah😂😂😂😂😂😂 WHO?
Nothing today can even come close to the comedy these episodes convey. Pure simple genius in these tales. Nowadays, well just crap is passed as "entertainment." Yeah you can say of me,"Sheesh, what a grouch!"
I think the the entire sewer system of NYC should be changed to : The Edward L. Norton Sewer systtem of NY embossed on ALL the manhole covers! !!!! SUPER COOL!

Ed Norton should have listened at the door after all....he would have found out how it came out and would NOT have came back down when Ralph called him to come down.
Why 1950s audiences found repeated threats of violence from Ralph Kramden so hilarious is something I'll never understand. Jackie Gleason wasn't much better in real life, either.
Ralph Kramden was such a friggin' douche. Jackie Gleason wasn't much better. Online commentary: "He was a sloth and a drunk, a bully and a boor, an unfaithful husband and an absentee father, a brutal boss and an abusive associate." Aug 23, 1992

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The reason why Jackie Gleason and Art Carney were so successful in this show is because they both were good at heart!!
Great point
Thanks Dad for turning me on to this when I was a small kid. RIP
Ditto.
I'm only 36, my mother, rip, just this past year turned me on to this show, I watched it with her on her death bed just last September. For that reason, this show will always be bittersweet for me.
Alice is extra beautiful when she's mad. :)
How about Ralph?
The honeymooners, were simply the best!!!!!! Number 1 sitcom, of all time! The king, of all sitcoms!
After 65 years or so, this is still funny. Much more funnier than the crap on TV or the movies now and the past 20 years or so. Gleason wrote all the scripts. He never rehearsed. A genius.
There were too may great moments in the Honeymooners to count.
tell me 1 bad moment...
Norton..Come on down.. PAL A' MINE!!!
From Eddie Murphy?

Mr. C, Thank you for that great piece
of information about the Brooklyn bus drivers. That makes my heart feel so
good!
What a wonderful tribute! It would have melted Jackie’s heart.

this is comedy, the best duo Ralph and ed.

They made so much great comedy in a room! Amazing!👍😅😂🤣👍
The Solid Gold of all situation comedies.

Ralph Kramden still better than ALL of the crap on today

The Art of Innocence
One of my favorite shows
Poor Norton. He was just trying to help😂😂😅😅😁😁🤣🤣

classic program. Todays generation wouldnt appreciate humor like this.

I think Laurel and Hardy were the best. In fact, there are a couple of Honeymooners where Gleason stole L&H bits.

Absolutely better than some shows on t.v. these days!
Ah.......the genius at work.

Ralph's in the right about that so called mother in law, 😒 but he loves Alice more😟.
Classic 39 episodes. Absolutely fantastic, all of them! 😆
C’mon DOWN Norton!!
Im sorry but Im with Ralph on this one, his mother in law was just plain cruel to him ...
That's what mother's in law are usually for, check the manual (JK)
eyestoenvy she's right though. Ralph was a loser. Look at that apartment
I agree...I was shocked Alice didn't take his side on this.
She was a pain in the ass..
This was great!

The Honeymooners were the best of the best!!
a true Marvel and Classic - no comparison.
Ed Norton should have listened at the door after all....he would have found out how it came out and would NOT have came back down when Ralph called him to come down.
he really looks like fred flinston!!!!
He definitely inspired Fred Flintstone.
Too many great moments to mention. The Greatest Show in the history of TV!! Bar None!IMHO NAWTON, Pal o`mine! LOL
"I got a *_BIIIIIIIG MOUTH!!!_* "
I have this whole series on DVD. Watch it everu New Year's Day.
Lol I been doing the same for decades now!
He was the highest paid actor on Tv. He made $5,000 per episode.
The best is the Honeymooners Marathon every New Year’s Eve and day on WPIX. People in the New York metropolitan area know what I’m talking about
Honey mooners one of the funniest shows of all times ,,
compare this to the Last man
standing .
This was real comedy.
I just wish they would have made more episodes
Hilarious as always!
So this was the inspiration for the Flintstones
She Didn't leave Me With The Mess Stickball Coach.
Alice you got the record
“Cmon DOWN Norton!”
Came here for the Eddie Murphy references in Delirious
That kid is going to be very mad trusting Norton to tape up his stickball bat!
my favorite episode
If I were Norton I wouldn’t come down.
And away we go....
How sweet it is! 🙂
omg all the best moments
stopped too soon
I must’ve missed this episode of Wandavision.
Ralph should tape that stickball bat first and then call for his pal.
Come on down Norton!
Nortonnnn !! LOL

Norton bungles modern technology.
Classic !
1:45 😅🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
