The fact this guy loves his adopted mother with all of his heart was heartwarming to see ….he is talented and caring ….
and she is SO proud! Love it.

The endurance is ridiculous! He sung most of that in belt and it was pretty pitch perfect throughout

I was AMAZED at how close he sounds to Steve Perry. I have never heard anyone able to match Steve’s tone. This guy was SO close to it. Amazing I hope he goes far.

Thank you for sharing your perceptions, Robert. On my third watch I started noticing Gene's subtle shifts in dynamics...I was enchanted, but I didn't have the words to describe it. Now I see why the coaches emphasize dynamics so much. I'm eager to see how Chance's coaching influences Gabriel's next performance.
Love to hear your critique on the singers on the Voice. I pretty much just know that I like what I hear and if the song draws me in, but you have knowledge on the subject.

I’ve never heard anyone that can match Steve Perry’s tone. Steve has one of the BEST voices EVER! And Gene sounds SO similar! I’m really rooting for him. I hope he goes far.

This show shreds me. I know I get to enjoy new material at Gene Taylor Music here on CZcams, but my heart aches for more of Gene on stage just like this. I can't rewatch this audition for awhile yet, it still makes me cry too much.

This such a beautiful tribute. I really really wanted to get to the lives. I for sure thought I was good enough for it. I LOVE being on stage in this was nothing but fun for me. Wished I would have been allowed to show more but maybe the coaches know something I don't know ❤ onwards and upwards

Yes, I know what you mean, there's no words. I cried the first 12 times I watched and listened to this performance... just struck by pure beauty. The next time there were no tears, but every hair on my body raised up, no joke, no lie.
I cannot get this performance out of my head. The last time any person's music affected me so strongly was Bill Withers back in the 70s. I am praying Gene's talent gets noticed from this show, so I can be hearing his songs until it's time for *me* to go Home.

I know! I was shocked none of the judges mentioned how he probably made Steve Perry proud 🤷🏽♀️. I was like “do any of them even know who sings this song originally?”. It almost felt like none of them had heard it before 🤯.

I've been a huge fan of Journey and especially"The Voice" Steve Perry, for many, many years, and Mr. Taylor did a phenomenal job of singing this beautiful, timeless classic, which is no small feat. He has a very beautiful, soulful voice, and I wish him all the luck in the world on his journey on the show. 🎵🎶
