When I was a child I grew up with the Norah Jones version of this song always playing in the car whenever my family would go on road trips. I never thought too much of it, my mind was on my favorite band at the time which was AC/DC. Eventually I fell in love with the music of tom waits, and when I found this song, it blew me away that Tom has been a part of my life ever since the beginning. This mashup for me is like the bridge between the past and the present, this is pretty special to me... Thanks
Forgive me, I also just wounded up a pretty intense mushroom trip, so I felt like sharing.
I first became familiar w the song on a Norah Jones CD. For many years that was the only version I knew. I was doing some laptop work at Starbucks off the Town Square in Jackson Wyoming one evening and this song came on , it was Tom Waits .....had to find out who it was that sang the song...found him on CZcams....as it did w you this duet brings it full circle
