I grow mine the easy way….lazy composting! I usually have hundreds if not thousands of black soldier fly larvae in the summer just working on my compost. My chickens think it’s caviar! I scoop it up with my shovel and toss them a scoop once a day. Bless their hearts, when I pick up my shovel they think it’s time to eat….they have no idea a shovel is used for other things. 😊

Thinking about getting 10 Rhode island red chicks, how much feed will they eat before laying eggs? Buy bulk or just 40# -50# bags?
