    Have the Monster omnibus and Suspense ones so 'most' (not all) of the works are covered in this volume (not all, I know but I am not a completist). Don Heck, definitely, comes to mind but then again, there should be an omnibus for him as well. Of course, the letters etc are missing from the Suspense / Monster

    OK, a while back a friend gave me his Marvel Essentials collection. I'm definitely more a DC guy, but this allowed a lot of Marvel in my home for the first time ever.
    Fast forward a bit, I now have a son, my only child, who recently turned 3. I started talking with a few of my Marvel comics friends about some ideas I has for building around the the Essential titles I was given for my son when he's older, and all agreed I should get the three Kirby FF Omnibuses, and the two John Byrne FF collections. I was also given a heads-up to your CZcams channel by the one who's been into Marvel the longest, since the mid-60s, to help me in this new endeavour.
    Well, a week ago I discovered the two Monsterbuses, and thought of adding them on the same shelf as the five FF tomes, but preceeding the Fantastic Four Omnis. Well, I'll now have to get this little guy and place him between Vol. 2 of the Monsterbuses, and Vol. 1 of the Kirby/Lee Omnibus ! Thanks for all you share, and keeping some of us educated in all this world of collected editions 'stuff' !

    I was checking if there were letters pages like superhero ones from the silver age. Matye there were like the comics form the golden age which also did not have a letters page. I wonder the superhero comics were the first ones with a letters page. The guy doing the overview for The Amazing Spider Omnibus volume 4 said he likes when the letters pages are included. Now come to think of it. I thought at least this one would because it is about the whole series or run besides Spiderman. Iron man started in Tales of Suspense, so had to wait a few issues before the letters about Ironman. I saw in the Defenders Vol 1 even had a letter about their first appearance, so even issue 1 had a letter about them.

    How can they honestly call not only this book or that Devil Dinosaur book an omni?? I thought it was ridiculous when the called the Matt fraction Hawkeye collection an omnibus??? THIS is when Marvel likes to act like DC in their thought thought process. These are omnibuses and brooks rewind as thicker are NOT omnibuses????? Like X-men books some are omnis and others aren’t??? Should be a certain amount of pages or issues included that officially classify the book as an OMNIBUS. Great vid Omar!!!!

      I'll be the 'well actually...' guy here, but an omnibus is a collection of work on the same subject or author. There's no mention of the thickness of it.
      What's stupid from marvel is calling the Dugan GotG run an omnibus, but the follow up to that story, Infinity wars, is not an omnibus and is i think even thicker than GotG (unless my memory fails, i don't have them in front of me right now)

    • @nozkaian
      @nozkaian Před 4 lety +2

      Omnibus means that the book is containing a complete series or the complete work of an artist or writer. Omnibus doesn't mean that it have to be 1000 pages. I know it's annoying because it's not so thick, but it answers the "How can they honestly call not only this book or that Devil Dinosaur book an omni??".

      @Matthew.E.Kelly. Před 4 lety +2

      If he's anything like me he'll collect the series in floppies/single-issues and then later, when the entire run of singles is worth a lot more, sell them off to collectors. A mint copy of New Mutants #98 regularly fetches more than $400, for example, and with that $400 you can buy the New Mutants Vol. 1 Omnibus and have $300 left over.
      Others buy the single-issues and preserve them, as collectors, then buy the omnibus editions for regular reading. That way the single issues, which are eventually worth more money, retain their value. There are many reasons to buy collected/omnibus editions, these are just a couple of them.
