I liked the Genesis show. I wanted to not like it because of the narration beginning such an integral part but I did like it and got it right off, but most others I had no clue what they were trying to convey.

They changed the narration every show. The “here are the five steps” part was not in their show at least past mid-July.
Did you notice that their starting formation was a double-helix DNA shape? The guard had the same on one set of flags.

THE FUTURE OF DRUM CORPS after marching drum corps for 18 yrs starting in 75 yet the last 10 years of transitions has made me feel like the activity is a boutique type of entertainment. Many of these arrangers produce shows that make themselves feel good I and others sitting in the stands aren't connecting or feeling from the effects of the these shows and many of us have lost our drive our passion to attend these shows, now DCI & DCA same umbrella? More combo shows more expansion across the nation marketing activity that has taken a back seat or its just considered to be elite marching band. Last 20+ years has shown us some of the most extremely multi talented young people who have ever marched on the field sadly people may start taking bets in Vegas that DCI will fold by 2028

It's the judges!!! They always favor BD! Why??? A friend of mine and myself would sit and watch them ,find all the mistakes, and wonder how some of these visual mistakes were missed.

The show concepts only make sense once you understand the show concept.
Here’s my analogy. Imagine you’re a detective that’s trying to solve a murder and you get a letter that says I’m the killer but you don’t know who it’s from. And then after you solve the case it’s like oh it was so obvious he literally told me how did I not see it before
I don't understand this thought that a show needs to have a simple understandable theme and/or story to be enjoyed. Story based shows can be awesome for sure, but equally awesome to me are shows that simply create a vibe. Coats and BD had my favorite shows last year, and to me they were just about creating a vibe, awesome music, and great visuals.
When I saw the show live, the joke was different.

LOL why does every corp insist on doing a stepout on hits? Even if half your members are fat or bow-legged.

Drill writers have been using a.i. for like 25 years lmao. No offense. But in 06 watching a drill writer let the program do it. I knew he was never gonna be that great. No offense. Human innovation creates magic .
