  • Two years after Pellichoopulu released, filmmaker Tharun Bhascker is back with Ee Nagariniki Emaindhi, a buddy comedy about a bunch of friends wanting to make short films. "The film, set in Goa and Hyderabad," Tharun says, "is my ode to friendship and the short filmmakers with bellyful of dreams."
In an exclusive interview with Film Companion South, Tharun Bhascker traces his journey from short films to making feature films, and how the success of Pellichoopulu posed a huge challenge for him. With Ee Nagariniki Emaindhi, the director confesses that he is trying to get rid of the tag of him being 'Pellichoopulu' director.
Will the film live up to the promise? The odds are certainly in Tharun's favour.

This truly is the golden age of tfi, the insights this man has and the earnestness he offers in going about chasing your dreams has left me dumbfounded. his honesty is so refreshing yet not cynical, to think that this guy might be younger than me is astounding. i can only hope that the trivikram and the krishnavamsi recapture their essence which they eschewed it to the commercial aspects of telugu films.

There is this wonderful independent docudrama movie named 'American Movie' which tells us the story of how an independent, passionate but very inarticulate and financially broke independent filmmaker co ordinates and arranges things to get 'his kind of movie' (which is a Stephen King-sque horror ) made.
I wanted to make a short movie based on it (based on my own failed efforts to put 'India's First B Slasher Short Movie together). My idea was about what went wrong when Vaishak Nambiar (me) approached producers , theatre actors and my colleagues to make a B slasher horror movie, a take on all those Ramsay Movies (they themselves were rip offs of old Lucio Fulci movies) but like all my other plans, it didn't materialize because I didn't get a good enough team to make it in a way it deserves.
Then I saw a new show coming on Amazon Prime named Shaitan Haveli. The show's primary plotline was almost the same. And, it was a good show.
I actually ended up here because Tharun is the director of Pelli Choopulu. I didn't see Pelli choopulu but long back I saw a trailer cut of Anandamaaye song. The way it was shot , cut and mixed were enough to judge the merit of its director. It was beautiful. Awesome music, wonderful color grading (differing from the instagram grading most people do these days. It was more like celluloid colors. Green was green, red was red and brown was brown). It is amazing to see Tharun is making a movie from the Premise of American Movie. I am sure he will rock it.

if a director shows his talent , more than industries welcome that but does not mean other social sites as if prime spot for your business is un acceptabel what u perceived during ur learning cycle other than a qualification or education or what source he is taking up easily judgeable but
we seen his movie almost user other social sites id as if he is running twitter, facebook account and creating thier own busienss if that if he is running webiste when website in chennai itself will seek jurdisication soon who claim his business will be taken it to biggest offence
act of law how many chennai top websites from film industries will be thrown and all the websites wil be
