Welcome to “PROJECT SLEEPER” In this video we installed a set of Maintec AWD down pipes on this 2021 Kia Stinger GT AWD. The AWD options are limited when it comes to mid pipes or secondary downpipes.
We also installed the MBRP Cat Back Pro Stainless exhaust at the same time.
Afterwards we stopped off and filled up with e30 and put the JB4 in map 3.

If you have a 2022+ Stinger and wanna keep the valve and don't wanna be insanely loud, highly recommend just getting the hfc and mid pipe combo. It sounds really good without being obnoxiously loud, and keeping the stock valve. Sounds close to stock with the valve closed. Going to post a video hopefully soon on the sound after I get my jb4 installed which you do need because it might overboost if you don't have some sort of tune.

@@twn2rbo I haven't heard it in person but based on the 4 videos I heard, the evc mbrp sounded pretty bad to my ears and it sounded like the valve didn't make it any quieter. But would love to see if your video changes my mind on that otherwise I need to hear one in person.
You get any drone with that set up?
I wanted to get the 22 mbrp exhaust but like you said many have said their valve doesn’t make much of a difference from comfort/sport.
I’m just gonna get the secondaries for now.
@@Robert-dm1sj I get absolutely no drone at all. And the exhaust valve works perfectly, there is a huge difference between comfort and sport. Doing just the mid pipes I heard won't make much of a difference.

Just found your Channel a few days ago. I’ve seen stingers around and just started looking into getting one. They look so sick and for the price couldn’t go wrong with getting one!
I couldn’t say it better myself, this car checks a lot of boxes esp those who have families etc. the AWD system is phenomenal and the power train is amazing at handling extra power. Looks are subjective but I think it’s beautiful for a sedan and the functionality of having a hatch with rear folding seats. Hope you get one!

For sure! Of course it will sound much better in person, I will say the MBRP is perfect for a daily driver, it’s a little pricey for your year due to the EVC, but I love that option to make it louder or have it quite. I would definitely keep that option you have

So I've had a BMW 325ci, two 330ci's, and an Infiniti G35 coupe in the past. As far as Kia, I had an Optima as well. I now own a 2020 Stinger GT2 Ceramic Silver w/ red Nappa leather interior, all the bells and whistles, already rebadged by previous owner (hood, steering wheel, center wheel caps, trunk). I actually set out to buy new, but wasn't a big fan of some of the updates like the tail lights, rims, and exhaust tips. Although I wish I had the larger infotainment screen, definitely a plus! The older Maserati style tail lights pretty much sold me. I can't believe I'm about to say this but... I LOVE my Stinger... more than any of my previous "luxury, performance" cars. The stock exhaust on my G35 was pretty intense...i loved that deep growl. But performance wise, I was pleasantly shocked at how smooth and seamless the shifting is on the Stinger GT2 while still maintaining the ability to get up under itself and launch you into the back seat...that twin turbo and torque is just🔥There's still a few exterior mods I wanna do...adding a rear lip, claw canards to front/back, LED daytime running lights, etc. But when it comes to tuning, remap, intake, exhaust, etc i admit idk a whole lot, i do know there's a lot of room between the stock power levels and the safe limits of the engine and turbo and I wanna take advantage of the potential boost and power gains, but without voiding my warranty or asking the car to do more than what it was designed for. So I guess my questiom is this...if you only made ONE mod...what would it be??? I'm thinking JB4 piggyback tune and replace the factory intake??? Thoughts? And I love your content btw, really helpful, especially for those of us who don't really know where to start! 💀

The "secondary chamber" is a helmholz resonator. There's some math involved, but using the correct length and diameter allows the manufacturer to target whatever frequency the worst drone occurs at and cancel it out (the reflected sound waves arrive 180 degrees out of phase).
I have almost the same setup (except with Quicksilved mids) and really enjoy the sound, especially at WOT. It's still a little drone-y at 2200 rpm.

Sounds good, I noticed when I did my exhaust that there was a drone in the cabin. It was cool at first, but got annoying after time. By changing the exhaust tips out with something that actually clamps on to the exhaust will completely eliminate it. I honestly couldn’t believe the difference.

@@twn2rbo I don’t have a vid on it. I did it before I started making vids. I did notice that the spare tire / battery area is all bare metal. So I’m going to line it with sound deadener and see if it lowers the interior decibel readings.
I added 2.5in extensions to my MBRP on my 22Stinger. It helped a bit with the drone. I’m looking into tips which clamp on but haven’t found one I, happy with. In the mean time I had my OEM chrome tips changed to gloss block powder coat, I read MBRP May be releasing tips for the stinger some I’m holding out to see if that happens. If not, I may buy the MBRP resonators.

2021 G70 AWD. ARK downpipe and cat back. Has almost a Porche sound when shifting and constantly has a low tone burble on slowing down. Turns plenty of heads.

2020 Genesis G70 3.3T Sport RWD. DC Sports cat less secondary down pipes with Ark Grip Performance exhaust, AEM cold air intakes & a JB4 with the EWG wires. Running maps 3 & 4 so far on E30.
Amazing, man I seen a G70 today on the highway and I was slowing coming up on it just checking it out, it was deep matte blue and I’m really liking them, considering one myself

Oh man absolutely! Map3 will shock you and it’s still pretty conservative considering what the Stinger can handle, the power and drive train are pretty beefy

Is it better to get the catless primaries or catless secondaries , assuming youre trying to keep it semi earth friendly...???
Secondaries alter the sound but don't add much hp if any, primaries provide pretty significant gains but they can be quite difficult to install.

Yo Nick! MBRP does sound good! I’m running JUN B.L. EVC Performance exhaust and JUN B.L. mid pipes. The JB4 w/EWG harness does make a difference! And I think it’s easier to get a response from GOD than Daniel! 😒

Hi love your videos! I just bought my first Kia Stinger yesterday I’m obsessed! We’ll day 1 I was so pumped to go take it for a ride - bought it last night just drove it home. I get in today put it in sport mode was ready to see what was really up -
Made the turn hit the gas and turbo made a weird sound and started sputtering 😢 so sad called the dealer have to bring it back ( it’s a 2021 18K miles -
Have you ever had this issue? I literally hit the gas pedal it spidders engine light is on and just won’t go - hopefully they can get her fixed tomorrow. Let me know if anyone else has had this happen (
Congrats! Mine was a 21 as well with 24k miles, I never had that happen but I will say it could be a bad coil pack, easy fix and I’ve seen and heard that happen to other Stinger owners. Also make sure you are putting the highest octane available in the tank 😁. Thanks for the comment 👊

So guys I have a 2023 Kia k5 rn and I’m only 20. I’m gonna be upgrading to the stinger within the next few years and I’m new to modding. Like I don’t really know anything. U guys got any advice for me?

Still can't find a good combo exhaust . But mbrp catback is best bang for buck only 779 on ebay. Downpipe make it sound too raspy imo.

When you change the ECU and TCU will that void warranty ?
Not if you replace them before taking it to the dealer. Simple remove and replace.

Ah man those darn emissions! What’s the fine if they catch you ?
I don’t really know if there is a fine for having them, I just know they will fail emissions. And you can’t drive the car if they fail you until it’s fixed
Secondary downpipes are fine, but primary DPs you will need a non fouler O2 sensor and you will pass the computer test yet the visual inspection depends on the technician.
@@tysonsmith9690 makes sense, removing the cats and all, such an easy install and those secondary cats are pretty small, I got some up close shots. In that case I would recommend the Borla to people, it’s about as loud as the MBRP with secondaries, I threw a couple of Borla clips in this vid, one with secondary and one stock.

Yes, because it takes about 10 min to remove it or reinstall it.
Depends what you mean by inspection? The dealer or emissions? The dealer can connect to your ecu and detect abnormalities if they really wanted to, off or on the car. Highly unlikely though

There are guys with lap 3 tcu/ecu that dyno over 500hp on stock turbos. When you really want to push it to 600hp then you upgrade the turbos on these cars.
