You say that top Omasako Shiro commands huge prices, but the quality of Omasako Shiro is so consistent that I think his cheapest Shiro's are brilliant value for money. In the £300-£500 bracket I don't think there are other breeders / varieties that can match the quality of his Shiro and every pond should have one.

Gives me hope to see how the two tosai I got last year will develop, one has a nice balanced pattern, the other a bit more of a Bekko, I hedged my bets when I bought them, now around 45 cm
