    I drive my RCF daily and plan to do the same when I get the LC. You don't remove the speaker for auxiliary access to the truck. You remove the panel above the speaker and there is a manual release for the trunk and fuel door inside. The 2024 LC has the 360 camera and a new touchscreen that eliminates the mousepad.

    My 2018 is literally perfect. Just had the original battery replaced even though it was still working. Routine maintenance and absolutely no issues. Best car in production today bar none. Sorry you found so many faults with yours.

      Don't get me wrong, all in all it's an excellent car. Those issues are very minor in my opinion. This is why I only own Toyota products because of their excellent reliability. But the car is great! Love it!

    Its been a year for me. I purchased my 2018 lc last year. Loving the car. The only problem I have is people asking me to pull over to see the car. Mine is Micha Blue with the toasted caramel interior. I live in Ohio so as you can guess it's now cleaned up and put up for the winter. Yes i put a trickle charger on mine. A few of your negative points are well taken.

      Hey mate, I'm in Australia and these LC500s are extremely rare I guess everyone just goes for the Audi's and BMWs , I currently have a 8 year old Audi A7, and now want to own a V8 b3fore the world goes mad and hybrid and I'm tossing between this car and the Jaguar Ftype 250 R, both V8s the Jag I think is a twin turbo and a little quicker but then I'm scared of reliability.....I'm guessing your LC 500 is a real head turner? OWNERS of the Jag say they have an issue of people driving real close to them maybe to get a better look, do you have this issue? Any thoughts on the car......I would be chasing a 2016/2017 model, maybe not the first year they were released as they usually tease out the issues on the subsequent year, just a few years older so it's a bit more affordable

    Nice car man. I've been considering buying used and I'm guessing the 2018 would be the pick to get the best price. What kind of deal did you get on it and what's the insurance like? Also, I'm wondering why you chose the 2018 as opposed of the other years. Thanks!

      See my replies above. Paid roughly $80k for my car. This one has the Performance Package on it. You can get it cheaper for around $60K if you don't get that upgrade.

    @ 20:00 I wholeheartedly agree. Toyota always cheapening out on tech. 360 camera should've been standard on this car, especially given it's a 2018 car, not a 2008. And 21:05 also affects other Lexuses, visors won't slide back enough, super tacky and annoying. Beautiful design inside and out but the cost cutting shouldn't translate to less functionality, especially on essential items like the sun visor.

      it is crazy that 360 only came for the 2023 model year

    The DISPLAY ratio on the infotainment system is wack. I had to add an AFTERMARKET one that was bigger. Lexus does cut corners on key options that you dont NOTICE until after purchase. Good video

    No you don’t, you can jump it under the front hood at the fuse box . Been there done that. I have since wired a battery tender at the fuse box also . I also hate the center council. Never had troubles with it( no junk in the car ) but it just feels cheep.

    Great vid. I'll be trading my RCF for the LC convertible soon. One major difference is the transmission...RCF 8-speed vs LC 10-speed. The LC shifts faster thru the first 3 gears. Ride quality depends on your tires in my opinion. Once you get rid of the stock runflats on the LC, it's heaven!

      It is not that the transmission shifts faster. It is shorter gearing what you are thinking. The AISIN official max attack shift times going full throttle are 100 ms for the RCF and 120 ms for the LC. What you are thinking is, shorter gearing. Since LC is 400+ lbs heavier than the RCF, Lexus gave it shorter 1st through 3rd gearing to make it feel like it is going through gears very fast. Mind perceives shorter gearing as you are hitting redline earlier as the car faster than it actually is. However, each gear the top speed is lower in short gearing. Ultimately, numbers wise RCF is the much faster car if you were to look at raw performance numbers. About half a second faster to the 1/4 mile and will do hot laps all day on the track without complaining or overheating while the LC cannot. Auto mode is better on the LC 10 speed as it shifts more smartly than the RCF 8 speed. I almost never use the auto mode and only use manual mode. LC is a grand touring and luxury car while RCF was designed for a mix of track and street driving so naturally RCF feels a lot more stiffer and harsher on the roads. I drove the LC and it felt extremely soft and floaty when I started to challenge the chassis a bit. Steering also was very light and felt rather overboosted while the RCF steering is quite heavy when you put it in SPORT+ mode. Case in point, if you are driving the car on the streets and cruising from one point to another, LC500 is the better car than the RCF. If one is doing a lot of spirited driivng and track days then RCF is in a different league.

      @@2ZZGE100 Do you have a link to where you're getting this 120ms time for the LC. I've driven both of these transmissions, the LC500 transmission seemed light years faster. I'm not sure I understand how gearing is going to affect shift speed; the transmission seems much faster in manual mode, not a 1-3 gear cadence.

    • @2ZZGE100
      @2ZZGE100 Před 5 měsíci

      @@hamsterbrigade It is in AISIN documentation. My comments get deleted so I cannot respond. My RCF shifts crazy fast when I am going full throttle and SPORT+ and MANUAL mode. That is the only scenario I am talking about. LC500 transmission is better in every other way except lack of cooling and size/weight

    I paid $79K for it used with 18.5K miles on it. Mainly the price and the Performance Package was why I wanted this car. If I could have gotten a later model with the same feature, I would have gotten it. I think I pay about $1.5K+ every 6 months or Something like that. It's not cheap.

    So I have another question. I’m own my RCF for six years now and have it tuned with fbo. I’m looking at trading it in for an LC. How would you compare the driving experiences and was it a better move from an rcf to the lc?
