We survived the project! Lots and lots of dust everywhere but she cleaned it up so beautifully!

Oh my lord! 😅 found your video because we are purchasing a new refrigerator and discovered this is going to be our issue as well. Thank goodness we thought of measuring our fit and the soon to be new refrigerator first before having it delivered. You definitely went to the extreme to make it work but after seeing everyone's process, I have decided to just remove the cabinets that are interfering with the successful installation. Yep, I'm choosing to just remove 2 cabinets and 1 full counter. This may be the most extreme but I figure, hey I will get new cabinets soon. 😅😂

Removing the cabinets would have been less work and mess, that's for sure! Thanks for watching

Timely video. My new refrigerator arrives this week and I will be doing the same cabinet trimming.

O I gotta say.. that is a lot of dedication.
Nothing more demoralizing then the shredded sounds of a new belt..

I would've gotten a slightly smaller refrigerator that fit the space.

Not necessarily a mistake. GE makes the most reliable refrigerators and they tend to be a wee bit taller than the less reliable brands. In the long run it’s simply better to make a one time adjustment to your cabinets than taking the easier route of getting a less reliable brand that might cause more headaches down the road just because it fits. Btw, right saw for the overhead cabinet but wrong blade. You need the blade that looks like a half moon also called a flush cut blade.

Yes, we didn't want to be living with a refrigerator that was too small. It was more work than we expected to make it fit but still worthwhile

Would it not be easier with a sander or grinder

We used a belt sander, angle grinder, and circular saw. I wouldn't call any of it easy, hopefully we never need to do this again!
