Rush M.D. is an innovative, real-time, cooperative board game that simulates the challenging and high-pressure nature of medical professions. A worker placement mechanism, using hourglasses as workers allows, but also limits, players to perform a multitude of actions. Each player handles 1 Doctor hourglass running around the hospital, admitting patients, providing immediate medical care, performing different kinds of exams as well as performing surgeries. Additionally, there are 4 more Nurse hourglasses, which can be used by all players. Nurses provide medicines to patients, supply all necessary drugs and equipment that you need to carry out all your exams and medical procedures. Any worker placed on an action space may not be used elsewhere before the sand within the hourglass runs out, making each decision important as time is limited.

I prefer Kitchen Rush myself as that one feels more thematic in my opinion. Plus this one just seemed easier then Kitchen Rush did and my group rarely failed to complete our objectives. Unlike Kitchen Rush where it tended to happen a lot. I'm hoping the Rush MD expansion content will liven up the game but we still have at least another month before the ship arrives here (for US backers).

I found that this one starts off easier than Rush, but as you escalate the difficulty they match up more.

I was wondering why this game was getting a lot of coverage.

This looks like a game that would be lots of fun after a few drinks.

Did you ever play the XCOM boardgame? It has the real-time element the same, but it also has a turn-based section between the real-time rounds where you attempt to resolve everything you rushed to do,

Thanks! Great review. I found this a better game than Kitchen Rush even though I would prefer the theme of Kitchen Rush, Rush MD is just better.

My group didn't care for this one. They much preferred kitchen Rush. I liked them both.

Fascinating, I thought this was such a solid step up over kitchen rush.

I can agree with the stress but I actually find setup quick and easy.

You should try Space Cadets. :D

It was one of my first Real time games, I absolutely adore the fact that everyone has a role on the space ship, and that you can randomly get assigned to a different role. It's a bit longer than any of the "Rush" games, but it's the best "Captain sonar" experience that I can offer without having 8 players and in a cooperative environment, while also having a bunch of minigames which include a wide range of skills.
I wanted to like "kitchen rush" but the sand dials in the game have wild varying timers (I actually have a 2 minute one ...which is pretty horrible when a round takes 4 minutes).
