- We are back! After a few months off uploading videos we are back with the first episode of a series that will take you on the journey we are taking while living and working with birds of prey. Although we have not been uploading regularly we have been constantly filming, all the training of the birds, the training of ourselves in preparation for the show season, the work we do such as educational falconry visits, bird of prey pest control, falconry displays, and the organising of this years British Falconry and Raptor Fair. it is a huge honour to be asked to organise and run The British Falconry and Raptor Fair, and this video just does not show off the immense amount of work gone into and event of this scale.
Jake has made appearances in past videos, but now he has moved closer and is working with Dan every day to build Mercer Falconry into a success.
Igor the Kestrel who appeared in the How to train a Kestrel video has improved dramatically and gets to show off his new skills in this video.
Lincoln who has not previously been seen makes an appearance as we show how to train a bald eagle. And there is so much more going on that will appear in future episodes, so if you enjoy this and have not already, make sure you are subscribed!

Hi
Looking forward to seeing everyone in the chat at 6!
All your videos are very interesting to watch!! I started around tropical birds but wiith your videos I got more and more interested in working with raptors!!
They’re a very unique group of animals to work with but so much fun!
your videos are so incredibly well made, need your own tv show ASAP
I would a tv show, it would be a great way to secretly educate the general public about falconry and conservation disguised as entertainment
mate u never disappoint watch every video so far look forward to see more ( keep up the cracking work )

Hello Dan, I am a big fan of yours from Czech Republic. You inspire me to follow my dream. I've dreamt of falconry for about 6 almost 7 years. A year ago I found one falconer who is giving me practice now and I am happy to learn. I hope, that in the future I will be able to do falconry exams and become a falconer.
I would like to ask, do you have to do falconry exams in Britain to become a falconer? What's the process of becoming a falconer? In the Czech Republic you must do a game-keeping exams, join a falconry centre, join a Bohemia - Moravia game-keeping club and do falconry exams.
Excellent, good luck with all of it, it will be hard work but definitely worth it in the end. Unfortunately here in the UK there is nothing in place so anyone is allowed to just go and buy a bird of prey
Looks like a great show…wish I could have been there, but I’m on the wrong side of the pond…
Hi Dan I'd been waiting for this as soon as I got notified you were posting and as always you haven't disappointed keep these coming I definitely can't wait for more and oh my goodness the puppies are gorgeous 🦉🥰
So inspirational to watch and I'm sure you've inspired some of the next generation of falconers to become involved!
Thank you, I hope we have inspired lots of young people!
@@MercerFalconry one idea for a video is How to get involved with falconry? At least in the country you live in and how people can become involved, I'm sure lots of people would enjoy that!
I already have a video all about that and the different ways to gain experience on the channel
@@MercerFalconry awesome i'll check it out!

Could a bat falcon survive in the United States ( North Carolina)?
Where is your Steppe Eagle? Is she still doing well?
Yes, currently going through his first moult so he is having time off with as much food as he likes!
