Thanks for your comprehensive and organized (!) review. Wish all anvil reviewers would follow your format. Obviously this won't replace a larger anvil, but for a new smith or as a demo anvil this looks great, and the price is amazing.

definitely looks like a beginner 1st anvil and as you mentioned, a traveling demo anvil. Looking forward to the sledgehammer test and see how it holds up! Really appreciate you spending your $ and time to review anvils and other tools to help everyone make more informed purchasing decisions!!

I have the same exact defect on my Pritchard hole. Love this anvil. Night and day difference from the blue harbor freight one.

Thank you for the review. I was looking at this one a few days ago. I want one this size for traveling to festivals and shows.

110 lb anvil for 208 seems to be a 'current' deal @ 208.00 bucks, not a london pattern. I'm learning so I beat the face to dented mayhem pretty quick.

I really wish Vevor would make a 200 or a 250 lbs. Verson of these.

got mine Monday, its still standing at the front door as I need to make space and something to mount it on. Got mine from Amazon EU but it did take 2 weeks to get here, if the tracking was correct that was the fault of the local freight guys (maybe because the farmers are blocking road again). As you the horn is a bit rough and I have a couple of small casting defects but does will be going wen I dress the anvil, the box was also busted open on the sides but it had plywood at the top and bottom but not sides weird. Thanks for the review and looking forward to the other tests

I'd like to see them make a bladesmith's anvil, maybe a bit taller, more mass below the hammer, one side with a rounded radius, and the other with a very small horn. Basically a stubby anvil for forging convex edges and small rounded shapes on the horn, but with a nice short flat face

  • @jasonvliet-odonataknifeworks

Thanks for the review Roy!…any thoughts on preference between this one and the new HF Doyle you tested?

Hello, sir. I have the blue German pattern anvil. If you don't mind me asking - can I remove the bondo and use an arc welder to repair the casting voids? I want to finish the whole thing with cold blue, it's closer to traditional than paint is. Also, I want to get this anvil at some point, too. My buddies will probably use the forge from time to time, so it would be cool to play multi-player split screen.

HOLD THE DOOR! You radiused those edges and even used them when drawing down that taper, I SEEN'T IT!

Is this different than the Vevor you reviewed previously?

While sending a near seventy pound item out in a cardboard-ish type box is probably not the best way to do things, better packaging would add to the price, and remember there is always that one guy at the shipping hub that has that "here.....hold my beer" mentality.
