Needed this, Jamie is a pain to deal with as a new player. One thing I notice a lot of Jamie players do is cr mk > rekka into OD DP to bait out punish attempts, and this video really helped me understand why it works. Safe to say, I'll never mash on him ever again lol

I usually play an aggressive Luke, but when I fight a Jamie I end up switching to keep out. Jamie's helpless against fireballs without drinks

VReversal is in the "Block Settings" area not under the reversal settings, by pressing Y you can access the type of block

his qcf + kick goes under fireballs like Guy's hazontos (shoulder push) and it can link into level 3. My main advice is don't dash after you throw a fireball
I really don't like the idea of drive reversaling a situation where jamie is -6, throwing a fast poke like crouching medium kick is a better option in my opinion, sure there is technically counterplay from the jamie but the risk reward is in your favor and you keep 2 bars of drive gauge

Also a thing i forgot to mention is you can just jump swagger step and punish and i believe you can jab it to and driveimpact and drive reversal 🤔
I let Jamie get his max drinks and let him unleash his power, most jamie players after that are hyper aggressive and you can catch them off guard more often. When they haven't max out the drinks, they're much more cautious.

Funny, I'm more aggressive on drink 2 and 3. Lvl 4 drinks + lvl 2 (Devil's Song) pretty much restores drive bar and ex command grab into lvl 4 is 80 % damage. But I agree, wait for him to mess up and keep your distance

Bro. Not for nothing but could you do these for other characters too? I struggle with a ton of matchups and I feel like a lot of it comes down to me failing knowledge checks. This video was EXTREMELY helpful for me in the Jaime matchup.

Admittedly I’m a Diamond Ken player (trying to make a real run towards master) that’s gotten this far in ranked without labbing matchups (I kinda struggle to even know how to go about it the right way). I’ve come to realize at this point I can’t get away with not having decent matchup knowledge anymore so like these videos are so beyond appreciated. I’m getting bodied and not knowing what’s happening or what to do 😂. Thank you.

@777heartsdesire there are small differences, which is frame data that has changed which makes sorten moves not punishable I try to make a update for everyone soon👍🏽
@11:05 maybe i misunderstood. Do you actually backdash even with back against the wall to avoid getting grabbed? I feel like backdash does have to invulnerability frames
No backdash are just throw invincible is all so that's why they can't grab you even if you ain't moving 👍🏽

One thing I'm struggling with is his pressure on shield, like he'd do the 123 move he has and it feels like I can't punish it
i think you're talking about his HP its -3 on bock he is safe on it. it's one of he's go to moves

Yeah, for whatever reason, Jamie is literally one of the hardest characters to punish. One of my boys main him and he is disgusting and knows how to abuse his frame data so that you have to either block and let him have his way with you whilst mixing lows and overheads and, if he DOES make a mistake, most of Jamie’s moves that are unsafe literally push him away from u on block so that ur fastest frame hit dont even reach him. It’s actually quite ridiculous.
I hate fighting this dude man they made him stupid fast which makes fighting all the turtles and modern control ppl super stressful to fight
That's a good thing in my opinion the turtles need to get there heads out of the shell🤣.also I think Kimberly might be faster 🤔
