Notes: • Tassawuf: Self-annihilation; Do nothing for oneself and everything for Allah (swt). • A level of ibadah, state of being and way of life. • Objective is to bring positive changes in life. • Sufism requires consistent training. Part of the process is to suppress the nafs and avoid sins. • Sufism is a journey; takes effort, will, exertion and patience. • Avoiding sins is the highest objective of tassawuf. • Dhikr is the enemy of shaitan and sins. • Dhikr and dua (and by default abstaining from sins) has to be consistent in order to maintain the strength in one's heart and to get closer to Allah (swt). • Eventually one can be directly protected by Allah (swt); be a wali / friend of Allah (swt). ○ Initial struggle followed by crossing the threshold. • Objective of dhikr is not to gain unveilings / vision of the unseen and / or miracles, or for worldly benefits and opportunities such as overcoming enemies, respect etc. Rather the objective is to gain purity in the heart, connect to Allah (swt), and avoid sins. • Focus on the abundance of The Hereafter, not the duniya.
• Always ask for The Help of Allah (swt) and only rely on Allah (swt).
I am aiming to achieve this path . I follow most of the precepts of Islam, I have started fasting on Mondays and Thursdays. I let go of attachment even though I am still haunted by the past , I am learning to meditate to clean the bad memories. I will never get attached to another human again or creature. They let you down. I love my life of solitude now, I used to fight against it before, the key is to let go and keep cleaning the heart, mind and spirit, keep the body free of any contamination and wanting a higher relationship with God.
MahshAllah Shaikh our purpose and the goal is same. But the degree of attaining and achieving these goals differ from person to person (just like we do differ in achieving worldly success e.g., becoming a physician vs.dry cleaners). Now I’m thinking that all the capabilities and capacity to become wise and wali of Allah is not in our hands. Allah Subhanahu Wa Talaa illuminate the hearts of some while others spiritually fluctuate. It is slightly tricky and I feel pity on myself for lacking mystical component from my personality. Not initially everyone are perfect. But it can be attained by practicing gradually. That's why we need a sohbath with sheikh to transform ourselves. Look at the sahabas how the transformed. Everyone can become wali of allah but the stages varies.

What he try to explain as tasawwuf is already Islam, is tasawwuf another religion.Islam is about pleasing Allah with deeds and thoughts and follow the holy Quran and Sunna. to know that one does not need to know what tasavvuf is or be a part of it. When i hear what he say, brother and sister it's very dangerous and you can find your self in shirk. Our Prophet advises us to avoid extremism and take that middle path.

Sufis are not upon tawheed or sunna of the prophet mohammed peace n blessing b upon or his companions or other prophets of the 3 first generation of the pious grp.. May Allah guide us all to follow Quran n sunna n the ways of salaf saliheen.. May Allah forgive us all n grant us janaa firdaus
U clearly didn’t watch the video, all he mentioned was remembering Allah, and staying away from sin, it’s just a method of getting closer to Allah, through worship. Learn why scholars like imam ahmed, imam nawawi imam ghazali, imam ibn Taymiyyah were all supporters of the path of tasawwuf. Don’t get confused by those who commit bid’aat, just like any practice in Islam there are those who have transgressed and become out of the Quran and sunnah. If we take a look at those who wish to do good and separate evil from bad, some go over board and become extreme takfiris. In any discipline there is the extreme, but if you had any knowledge on this then you would know these people are a minority. Majority of the ulemah who are knowledgeable on tasawwuf, are basically just scholars who advise us on how to practice Quran and sunnah, for example they will say do dhikr before going to sleep, or reflect on Allah’s mercy, or read Quran everyday to purify your heart. It is simply a method to get close to the Quran and sunnah. Just like someone using methods to become more knowledgeable in Islam, for example they go to madinah and study for 3 years under the guise of teachers. One has a method of getting closer to Allah

The arabic word taqwa translates into English as 'caution'. Not 'pious'.
