I suggest you to put more tension in your downhaul for the mainsail. There are to many folds in the lower section of the Mainsail. Then the boat goes much faster.

You're right for sure. I didn't even try this time around because last time I did that with this boat the mainsail came down. If I was perfectionist I would have re-rigged the main before going out, but I didn't want to be that guy (it was a rental)

There is a small wirepart at the beginning of the Main Hailyard who need to be attached to the Camel hook at the top of the Mast. This prevents the "Comedown" of the Mainsail if you put tension on the Downhaul. Maybe you try this next time.

Is that a 16 or a turbo 14 Hobie Cat?

Hobie Getaway, the big "slow" Hobie. Lol. Not actually slow, just has large volume hulls and is more stable
I wish they rented 16s or 14s but I don't see anything anywhere!

Do they still sell the telescoping rudder poles/easier when coming about or jibbing. That way the stick won’t get in the way.On my 16, sometimes it nice just to let the boat “ walk”, enjoy listening to the boat talk to you with its creaks/ sails with their crisp chatter and the speed is free. Enjoy it…
