    I have looked at a zillion vidoes of M1 and this is the first one that makes sense, you almost make it look easy

    Seriously you are the BEST teacher on the web. No one has ever explained that the bar leans R or L and that is how you know which one you are doing. I might actually remember this now. But if not, I know where to come to find out.

    I have been crocheting for over 30 years but knitting has never been my forte. After hours of videos you are the first who explained that the bars need to “lean” in the direction you want them to go. Thank you so much for the simple and awesome explanation.     This is the first of your videos I've seen. I've done both M1R and M1L before, but I often need to be reminded between projects. You are the first one to point out the bar leaning to the R or the L. Thanks a bunch!

    Thanks very much for your tutorial. In all the other videos I've seen, they show the M1 by knitting from the back, whereas here, when picked up correctly, I see you can knit the stitch from the front! That's great to know.

    I am thrilled to be, Seeing it done compared to reading the pattern then studying the instructional to use and work with as you go, which this is confirming the proper procedure used in styling a shawl that made the lettering and structure to the shaping from wrong side with garter stitch on one color and stockinette on the other color. Thank you! Love your close up, lighing and very easy voice to listen to as you demenstrate.

    This is an excellent demonstration. I recently purchased a download pattern for a bias scarf that I didn't realize used this increase. I'm not really a fan of it as I have heard it's a tight increase but I'm going to try it. Thank you for your demonstration.

    Thank you. You are amazing. I’ve watched this so many times with different teachers but it’s the first time I’ve heard anyone say the bar will lean left or right. This is of course a no brainier, but I don’t think I’ll ever forget which is left and which is right again.

    Thank very much for your very clear video and audio. I've avoided many beautiful patterns because I was intimidated by M1R/M1L. Now I'll dive in and practice until I'm comfortable with 6-8 inches of success; then on to the shawl I'm so interested in making. Your explanation is absolutely the best!

    Thanks so much! I'm and expert crocheter, but a beginner knitter. Never would have figured this one out on my own. Thanks for showing the M1 stitch SLOWLY! I watched a few others but they went so fast I couln't really tell where they where pulling a stitch up. I will definitely be referencing you site again, as I continue to take on more knitting challenges. Cables..... Yuck! Same for 'knitting in the round" with double pointed needles. That is just CRAZY talk! :)

    Excellent video, as always. The explanation that in a right M1 the bar is leaning to the right (and to the left in M1L) made all the difference to me in remembering how to do it. Personally - perhaps because I am an English-style knitter, I find it easier to pick up with the right needle and then transfer it to the left.

    That was great. You never rush with your tutorials and it's so well explained. Love your soft voice. Close-up is excellent. The direction of the bar is so important and knitting into the back or the front makes the difference. Once again I learnt something new. Got an idea. This is a genius method for toe up socks. I always increased into the front and back of the same stitch. Thanks for sharing and caring. 👍👍👍
