I am so greatful to you. You have built my confidence in painting. I took an Acrylic Painting Class that was 8 weeks. The teacher was always telling me "stop using you drawing brain". Never an explanation as to what he meant. I finished that class with little confidence & disappointment. I would get frustrated and quit what I was working on... I would then start another painting only to quit again and move on to another new painting. Now with your tutorials I have been finishing those paintings. A HUGE THANK YOU JUST DOES NOT COVER WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR ME. Your are a fantastic artist and teacher. I always look forward to your tutorials.
patleo123 it's something I've encountered as well. as best as i understand, it means to allow the way you brush your strokes and the different layers of paint to create the desired image. when one is "drawing" you tend to want to use lines to achieve the desired image, however when painting, you almost have to turn that skill off and rely more on the general flicking motion of the brush....
Always wondered how to use a fan brush. My curiosity ended after watching your video. Thanks dear for the beautiful tutorial. You make a great teacher.

I have never painted in my life. I bought cheapest painting set, to see if l can paint anything. The answer is, l'm so happy. It's not like yours but concept is preserved. Love it. Thank you so much. It's my nev corona-hobby. Except I work 12h/day 7d/pw.
As soon as you can, get some good paint, brushes, and paper or canvas. It’s much harder to do anything with shoddy stuff. I did that, and couldn’t paint for the bristles falling out of the brushes. They make some pretty good student materials that are not expensive, if you’d like to start with that. I have a problem with finances too, but always get the best art materials I can afford.

Thank you so much for this tutorial, I have had so much trouble making my trees look 3 dimensional, I have avoided painting them because the result is disappointing, it never occurred to me to use my fan brushes to do them.

Actually they are very similar. Acrylic dries quicker - so if you need to go on dry you need to bear that in mind - but wet-on-wet oil (Bill Alexander, Bob Ross) is very similar in terms of brushstrokes. Len Hend has as art channel and he doesn't care if you paint with acrylic or oil.

I have watched many tutorials, please include a description~sizes of brushes,itemized colors, answers to ?? like how to prevent paint from drying. Many seem to have the same challenges.Following up on questions is key to a successful student base. I Love the music & your technique! Thank you Master Teacher
@@autisticcancer8501 there is a quality difference. better paint will be mixed better with finer grade pigments. but you are 95% correct. Art is from the artist, not from the supplies, unless you are using the absolute cheapest dollar store crap, which will cap your skill quite a bit.
When I am doing practice work like this lesson I use all kinds of paper, even brown packing paper and save my good art supplies for painting pictures. pictures etc. I use the garden waste bags - many layered and huge, they can be pulled apart and cut into whatever sizes you like for doing all kinds of exercise work, or get MixMedia pads - Walmart sells Canson brand a lot less than at craft or art supply stores and also you can find Easel Rolls which is white drawing paper; it is 18" X 75Ft long so you have lots and lots of paper for practise work, usually about $8 a roll but I often see it on sale for $5.With paints I have several grades from student to professional and use my student paints for all lesson work and use my professional grade (high pigmnt load, fade resistant etc) for when painting pictures. I don't find brand matters so much as quality of the paint in terms of the grade - student to professional level paints. That said, we all have our favorite brands, I tend to have several as some are thicker than others, or heavy body paints, others are thinner even with high pigment load. Jesse
