    Nice video. I play gate of hell to. Russian in the firsts days of operation are strong in infantery and ligth tanks. They not use any artillery like howitzers or mortars. In defend or attack. So you need counter that. Use early infantery gun like 7,5 cm le.IG 18 and mortars. Support this gun's whit infantery and MG's. Get some light tanks like Pz II or Pz 38 T. Later in the campaign, the Russians continue to evolve and you will have difficulties when the t-34 appear and even worse the kv-1. Added to this the infantry orders also become stronger. One thing that worked for me is not spending a lot of research points per battle. If you save at least three points per battle you will be able to develop better weapons when you need them. In your army try to keep a balance between infantry, tanks and support. And most importantly, never forget the logistics.

    I would love to watch you do a full playthrough of a German conquest. Your commentary and insight is absolutely a thrill to see. I noticed you have not uploaded in a while but hopefully you will do more of this game.

    Thanks for the guide! Convinced me to get the game and although very challenging, it is pretty fun specially the dynamic conquest mode.

      I think the dynamic conquest mode is a great concept and I wish more RTS games included it! Gives the game a sonewhat roguelike feel, and I love the randomness and fresh feel of each new campaign.

    Ive been playn dynamic campaign, i can not figure out how to take a tank that has ranked up (the crew) to another tank

    • @HauntingSpectre
      @HauntingSpectre Před 2 lety

      There is a guide on STEAM that tells you this. In game there isn't actually a way to switch crews. In real life just because you can drive a StuG, doesn't mean you are trained to drive a Pz.III/IV or a Tiger. Presumably this is why you can't swap.
      The Steam guide will show you what files to copy, and edit, in order to swap your tank crew with it's experience. I have not personally done it, as Tanks level up quite quickly, but the Steam guide section has a tutorial for this if you are comfortable editting code.

    I shouldn't have picked the hard difficulty for my first run. Jeebuz it gets challenging

    • @gameducationofficial
      @gameducationofficial  Před 2 lety +1

      It's challenging for sure! For new players I think medium difficulty + fog of war on is more than enough difficulty!

    • @Vestu
      @Vestu Před 2 lety +1

      @@gameducationofficial True. Things got a lot easier once I managed to capture two KV-1s. Their armor is practically invincible towards all Soviet tanks. I need to somehow capture a KV-2 at some point...

    • @gameducationofficial
      @gameducationofficial  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah an angled kv-1 is amazing against most other contemporary russian guns. In fact almost too good..
      Fortunately as I've often found out the hard way, tanks alone can't always do it all, and I like that balance.
      Good luck on your kv-2 hunting!

    • @Vestu
      @Vestu Před 2 lety +1

      @@gameducationofficial True, it felt a bit like cheating when I could just park my KV-1 "fortresses" to strategic locations, practically mowing down any infantry with its multiple machine guns.
      However, its main armament has very poor armor penetration so it can't destroy almost no medium to heavy tank from the front and it sure as heck won't maneuver itself easily to flank positions :D so that balances it out a bit. I think of it as a mobile bunker against soft targets and light to medium armor.

    • @Vestu
      @Vestu Před 2 lety +1

      the "bunker-likeness" of it is also underlined by the fact that its tracks get destroyed pretty often - immobilizing it - so choosing where to park it and how to angle it initially is an important tactical decision :D if the turret gets damaged on top the tracks, then there's a useless hunk of steel laying around waiting for repairs.

    I think games like this would be easier or more enjoyable in MP, if you were limited to only the units you start with, or a very small reinforcement pool, the infinite reinforcement model, makes the game less realistic and more chaotic.

    Hi buddy, nice video. The Risk is the amount of call in units the AI can pull or ? Because what I have experienced is that mid to late battles, they seem to have smaller amount of call ins even on risk 3, but idk...??

    • @gameducationofficial
      @gameducationofficial  Před 2 lety +1

      In my experience the risk amounts to the resources the AI can spend on units - it usually translates to the AI bringing higher quality troops in, in higher quantities.

    What does army strength do?

    • @HauntingSpectre
      @HauntingSpectre Před 2 lety

      The AI compares it's army strength to yours. What you field, it will field and then some, depending on difficulty.
      It scales to what you bring. So if you just bring a single tank, The AI will only be able to call in so many units, but if you field an entire Army, the AI will match that, and multiply based on difficulty.
      You can cheese the game this way by bringing single tanks on Defense missions to make them easier (if you have AI defenses researched) but I wouldn't personally recommend it. Half the fun is the challenge.

    What medium and large defences mean?

    • @gameducationofficial
      @gameducationofficial  Před 2 lety +3

      They add more AI controlled soldiers than small defences, and also add in extra equipment like machine-guns, etc!
