Madmans Esprit is a solo project of 叫號(Kyuho), with changing lineups of live members supporting the band’s live activity.
The band’s music is strongly rooted in different subgenres of black metal but, by actively mixing various influences from other genres from visual kei to Korean folk music, the band is constantly evolving its sound while keeping the core, which is described as “Depressive Suicidal Blackened Pop”.
After the successful headlining EU tour in 2019, the band had been mainly active in Asia during the pandemic, touring various venues in Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
In 2023 the band won the best metal/hardcore album KMA (Korean Music Award) with its latest full-length album “나는 나를 통해 우리를 보는 너를 통해 나를 본다“ and now the band is planning to have more international tour activities followed by new releases.

I finally managed to collect my thoughts and wanna say it again that Kyuho is a fucking genius. The MV seems kinda shocking, provocative and completely insane at first but behind all these images you can see the anguish of being perceived only as a sexual object, the feeling of unsafeness and strong desire just to be who you want to be without people intervene in your life and telling you how to live, who and how to love.

Idontknowwhoiambutthesexgoeson was the song I listened to the most in 2023, but while watching the clip, I felt like I was listening to the song for the first time. It's crazy that Madmans Esprit can make songs like this, it just makes them my favorite and most respected band. I got chills from its perfection and realism, so I want to say so many things right now, but words feel inadequate and powerless. Pain, desire, disgust and many other emotions that come with being human are in this song. So I listen to it over and over again and can't stop.

my favorite line from dissection is “my torso that’s hanging upside down in the retina is your reality, from which point of dissection does a human become meat?” and i feel like the idkwiabtsgo music video portrays that well. rather than a torso, this time it’s a dildo wielding (lol) mannequin. not only are mannequins inherently sexless objects, but by attaching a dildo to one the meaning of “objectification” is further shown.
the other mannequins watch him do all this obscene stuff, without an ounce of sentience or a reaction.
both *the* mannequin and kyuho have red rope (shibari) around their torsos, so i wonder if this was an aesthetic decision or a way of tying in their designs (this points to the infamous dildo mannequin representing him in some way, which makes sense-again, going back to the whole objectification thing- sexualizing something that shouldn’t be sexualized)
I know this wasn't the intention of the song but I think it does a really good job captuing the feeling I get being sexualised or experiencing sexual harassment as a trans person just the feeling of being percieved as something you aren't but also that you are something to be consumed sexually

The MV represents pure sexual images in such an uncomfortable way that almost get people traumatized. As if the plot in the film A Clockwork Orange, the only way we could get rid of sexual crime and sexual harassment is probably overwhelm people with sexual stuff until they get sick with it.

I think this one is now one of my top3 mvs...
It's provocative, shocking and intense but with a lot of meanings behind the imagery and lyrics, it's easy to miss a lot when the subject is sex 'cause it's a shocking and somehow funny topic for some, but it being used as a almost in-your-face way to show objetification and sexualization in it's pure and raw essence is just wow, and together with the apparent critiques about how others project their views and fantasys into someone made me love the mv and the track even more than before.
It's weird and somehow uncomfortable at moments for a reason and it works perfectly to portray the messages, awesome job
I needed to take a while with this one bc of the obvious shock at fist sight lol, I just don't fully get the mannequin "couple" (yet?) but it's interesting still
writing this as i am rewatching it. i really like the chorus...!!!! music is often up to interpretation and id love to hear kyuho explaining this song (idk if he already did and i missed it lol). i have two personal interpretations, the most obvious one i guess which is a commentary and criticism of patriarchy/how the concept of sex is always around no matter where you look.
my other interpretation could be about gender identity id like to delve more into my point of view but i dont have time rn lmao
