I was at that Rangers game. August 8, 1974. Sitting behind the A’s dugout. As the announcement was being made, I still remember Reggie Jackson coming in from the field, clapping as he ran.
It’s true. I had a professor in college who worked in the Nixon Administration on the media relations staff. He told us Nixon was his own worst enemy, paranoid of the press, and consequently developed a terrible relationship with the media, who, because of that, were all too happy to run him out of office.
@@fstrgray82 and the current retard we have in the white house actually did things that was impeccable and gets a pass because he is a Democrat. You gotta love the double standards and hypocrisy.
What’s most fascinating is that all creeds, colors, and age groups seemed to be interested and have sons sort of an educated opinion about it. Don’t see that today.
Sidenote as someone from London, England I like the local strong Dallasite/Texan accent. In recent years it seems, to me personally, it is somehow diluted.
Regardless of how you think about President Nixon, this is fascinating to see people watching something this historic and being asked their opinion in real time.

I was there too, me & a friend started clapping & a lady in front of us reprimanded us saying "I think it's terrible".
'dig the dude with a TV at a Rangers game in 1974 @2:05
I always tell people. You know something is a big deal when they have to interrupt sports to tell you what’s happened.
Public coin operated TV chairs...bloody hell - I'd forgotten about those!
At the Greyhound bus station.
Damn good footage.
Scary how that one lady said that she felt like he was impeached because of all of the media negativity towards him. Sound familiar??
Gullible idiots.
History repeating itself 40-odd years later. 😉😎

It’s quite a few parallels between his and 45’s administrations…
