It looks like damage of some kind. Like moisture that’s dried into a mark on the sensor. I haven’t seen a dust particle that big and caked on looking before.
Worst case constellation: Sigma/Foveon-Folks eagerly watching Sigma-camera-video with a breadcrum-on-sensor-incident: >90% paralyzed/traumatized from that dot on the very wrong spot.
My bet is that it’s an engagement trap. I don’t know if there’s a real term for it yet, but it’s the practice of purposely adding a flaw or lie or mistake or Easter egg, in order for people to jump into the comment section and comment about it. It tremendously helps boost the algorithm for their video, so don’t be fooled into thinking that this tech guy didn’t notice the huge speck. We are the fools for talking about it.
Just there is a couple of cameras using the same sensor. Leica SL3, Sony A7RIV and Rv. I am using A7R4 and it is a very good hi-res camera. For about 2000 it packs a lot more than Sigma, better auto focus and loads of third party lenses.

No mechanical shutter meaning a lot of rolling shutter when photographing and filming something that's moving. Great specs, but no mechanical shutter makes it 10x worse.
I hope is quality control is better than their lens. I had 2 17-50mm lens fail, and I tried 4 30mm 1.4s in the shop without finding one that focused properly. The shop told me that's about right for Sigma lens.

The video on this sensor unfortunately isn't very good and is line skipped, even now so in this small body which can't handle the processing needed to supersample or shoot higher res. In fact, the only reason it shoots raw is it requires less processing than H.265 compression

The cropping demonstration looks as if you are cropping into about 10% of an image that at 100% is around 4mp. Perhaps this is due to the quality of the video(?)..
the fact that video is as editable as the photos isn't a good thing but actually a bad thing All major manufacturers use 14 bit raw photos (Unless medium format that goes for 16) but this camera does both photo and video in 12 bit raw, which is know as sRAW on most pro photo gear. The difference is noticable on highly saturated shots like concerts and festivals
Guessing he bought a broken one to be able to show it off in a Video cause getting a working one is was to expensive. That sensor hast clearly some physical contact damage.
The crops you show in this video is horrible quality lol... and yea 64 megapixels really is useful only for cropping and printing like A0 size. The 64 megapixel is very minimal difference to 24 mpx if you only view the pics on PC display/phones.

It's got a pretty crazy heat sink, so that shouldn't be much of a concern (hopefully!).
Been using mine for 3 years, never once has it had a problem with, overheating when recording 12 bit raw at any resolution or frame rate.
