Lyrics
Well I guess it would be nice
If I could touch your body
I know not everybody
Has got a body like you
But I've got to think twice
Before I give my heart away
And I know all the games you play
Because I play them too
Oh but I
Need some time off from that emotion
Time to pick my heart up off the floor
Oh when that love comes down
Without devotion
Well it takes a strong man baby
But I'm showing you the door
‘Cause I gotta have faith
I gotta have faith
‘Cause I gotta have faith, faith
‘Cause I gotta have faith, faith, faith
Baby,
I know you're asking me to stay
Say please, please, please don't go away
You say I'm giving you the blues
Maybe
You mean every word you say
Can't help but think of yesterday
And another who tied me down to loverboy rules
Before this river
Becomes an ocean
Before you throw my heart back on the floor
Oh oh baby I reconsider
My foolish notion
Well I need someone to hold me
But I'll wait for something more
Yes I've gotta have faith…
Mmm, I gotta have faith
‘Cause I gotta have faith, faith, faith
I gotta have faith-a-faith-a-faith
Before this river
Becomes an ocean
Before you throw my heart back on the floor
Oh oh baby I reconsider
My foolish notion
Well I need someone to hold me
But I'll wait for something more
Cause I gotta have faith
Mmm I gotta have faith
Because I got to have faith-a-faith-a-faith
I gotta have faith-a-faith-a-faith - Hudba
This man was a genius. The moves, the voice, the energy, the face, the lyrics, the melodies. Everything was there
I loved him, Prince, & Bowie with Fervor!! 💗 Still do. Only artists I love left alive are Jarvis Cocker, Thom Yorke, Jello Biafra, & Salt'N'Pepa - Oh & Darren Hayman but noone ever knows him sadly.♥
That is all true, and factual. I will just add, that George Michael had a voice like no other. Simply beautiful. Also, as an artist, person, he seemed to be such a sweet individual. He was classy, elegant, brilliant, and with a massive talent for his artistry. His music is, a d was amazing. I am sure many miss him. Rest in peace. ❤️☀️❤️🎶🎸🎵

I just can’t ger over the fact how many absolute classics this man wrote before he was even 25 years. RIP George, truly one of the greatest
And those classics are unique from one another, even different styles.
I think that's one thing people forget. Just how young he was when he wrote and performed these songs. I think he wrote Careless Whisper when he was 19? That is genius level. And then add that voice and he is a truly singular talent in music history.
He's a legend for sure
That was real music.! Not now 😢
@@waynephillips5013 how is it even possible for someone to be that talented
I didn’t realize when I was a kid what an exceptional song this is. It’s so bluesy and energizing. George was such a star.
It's very reminicent of Buddy Holly, Bo Diddley etc. George really proved he could make it on his own and not being typecasted for the guy that was in pop band who mostly made Bubblegum pop music.
@@jaggassThe guitar beat is directly from Bo Diddley, it's called the "Bo Diddley Beat".

This song was the number one great song on the pop charts in the United States and the United Kingdom that year, and shocked the world when the album came out, This album won multiple awards at the American Grammy Awards. With this album, George wrote a glorious page in the history of pop music! I was lucky enough to experience that era. I remember that in 1988 there was a program on the local Chinese channel in Hong Kong called Sunday New Zone, which was dedicated to introducing Western music. This program spent more than 45 minutes of the one hour of the program introducing George, and it was broadcast continuously. With the release of the three MVs in the Faith album, you can imagine how phenomenal the global craze George created back then. He obviously an international icon.
I don't who his stylist was, but this is one of the most iconic looks ever.
Facts. It still looks dope.
@cookie_dough_hangover
George was his own stylist when this came out. If you watch his last Wham Top of the Pops appearance for the song "Edge of Heaven," you'll see George the solo artist was already channelling this look right down to the leather jacket. czcams.com/video/QoZq_AnU564/video.html

Sometimes in life you need a little bit of George Michael, ask yourself ‘where did your heart go?’, for ‘everything has a different corner’, ‘As’ on the ‘Outside’ you’ll have your ‘Freedom’ ‘praying for time’, then ‘Wham’ you’ve got another ‘Flawless’ victory. It's amazing that George produced this album almost completely by himself! His first ever solo album which won awards left, right and centre - but very much deserved! For those of us who grew up alongside George's career, it doesn't seem all that long ago, for myself anyway. He was the complete package of songwriter, producer, musician, outstanding vocalist, brilliant performer, great stage presence with the ability to always connect with his audience, philanthropist and even dabbled in some acting. George had it all and more! A very mature artist and young man from before the time his career took off. It's very few people who are ever truly blessed with such genius. In my humble opinion, George was certainly amongst the very best.🇦🇺💖🕊🎶🎵
Such a shame it didn't give him any comfort.
I was lucky enough to grow up at the same time as him and his career (I was 12 in 1982). I followed everything from the birth of Wham! to his solo career. I was (am?) crazy about him and his work.
For some reason him & Don Johnson
From Miami Vice just summarize that entire era to me style wise.
@@lucybrignall8579 I have to disagree with you there to a certain point. George wished to be famous and loved for his song-writing ability plus performing, and he was. He simply didn't wish to change himself, yet be true to who he was and his goals. Becoming a famous worldwide singer-songwriter at only 18yrs really blew his mind and it certainly did when he went solo with Faith. He loved performing, his supporters, and working on albums but hated the Music Industry and what came with it. He dreaded having to do endless interviews and promotion of his work. He simply wanted to write and saw the rest as a waste of time. It should be the record companies doing the promotional work, although he can't escape having to do some too. After the release of Faith, it was chaotic for him and he was burnt out whilst still incredibly young. No-one cared. It got to the point that when he released his next album, he refused to promote it. Yet, who hates the video to Freedom 90? It's full of super-models, both sexes, and a great video. Yet Sony was still up in arms. All the guy wanted was to grieve for his first true love, whilst resting his worn out body and mind. That's not to much to ask considering the circumstances. What good is a burnt out star to anyone? Yes, his life would have been much happier if everyone had stood back, (press/media, record label etc.) if they actually took the time to know him personally and understood that he needed time to himself due to the vulnerabilities he had, but the media were obsessed with him and refused to let up following him around endlessly. This didn't mean that he was miserable 24/7. George had his private life and amazing private times. His cousin posted a video, although it's not our business as it's George's off time, but shows him snorkelling with family. It's those times that we don't get to witness, nor should we, during his down time that he experienced great joy too. He was surrounded by a small, extremely loyal group of friends that he could be himself around. In a nutshell, he wore his heart on his sleeve and felt very deeply. When emotions are so close to the surface like George's, it makes it so much harder to appreciate great times when constantly hounded by media. Imagine the frustration? It was simpler things that made him happy such as donating money to whomever needed it, lounging around at home or on holiday, the things that we all take for granted. Appearing at Charity Events or in television skits. He was a great sport when it came to stepping up to raise money for a good cause. We don't see too many others who are well-known doing this. I agree that George didn't get to experience the happiness he thought he would get after working so hard for it. Yet, he enjoyed some wonderful times during his lifetime and made a pretty penny that made it easier as well. There's a line in one of his songs that says "....the road that I had walked upon, Well it filled my pockets but emptied out my soul". He had stated that his future albums would be available to be downloaded by anyone for free as he had been well paid over the years and didn't require anymore of the public's money. Unfortunately, that next album wasn't meant to be made, but George enjoyed a wealthy lifestyle none the less and did enjoy many things that most could never afford to do. I would never state that I wished he was alive still, as he is finally at peace and deserves to enjoy this. Sure, fame bought him great misery, but it brought him great joy too. Maybe, it balanced out somehow?💖🎶
@@LilithUnicorn Same here, except only a few years apart. Weren't we blessed for having to have experienced the entire phenomenon of WHAM! and to follow this up with the legend that is George Michael. From start to finish, it's certainly been a ride! Hardly a day rarely goes by that I haven't listened to something of George's great work. Only moments ago I was watching him on some videos. He's like a faithful friend who is always around when needed. He was even singing 'Spinning the Wheel' whilst I was connecting with a very hard floor and broke my predominant arm in three places! Was he implying something?, I often ask myself. Yes, it was a great time and still is, as George gifted something of himself to us whenever he released a song, which we get to continue to enjoy to this day.💖🎶

He was a great singer and an enormous talent, but he became an extreme hedonist who was repeatedly arrested for impaired driving putting innocent lives at risk. He like Whitney Houston blew their fame and fortune. Enjoy the music, but please don't celebrate or emulate the person behind the music.
@@johnbaker5828 If you look into his life story you'd understand. He lost his Mother, Boyfriend, and Record Company all within a short period of time sending him into depression. He thought his only way to escape the pain was to do such and drugs unfortunately are so addictive its hard to let go. He donated so much to charity and helped others anonymously and has done a ton for the LGBT community. He was flawed as all people are, but the important part is he wasn't a hedonist searching to be a menace to society but someone who felt alone, misunderstood, and lost. It may seem like wealth and fame could make all of that go away but it doesn't. Star People '97 by him iterates those feelings of money solving nothing.

He was so special and I loved his unique personality and voice. FAITH IS SUCH A GREAT SONG
Wow, this man had it all. The voice, the looks, the moves, the kindness -- truly a legend, and absolutely one of the best vocalists in all pop history. I remember the Freddy Mercury tribute concert, and how everyone struggled, like really, really struggled, to do justice to Freddy's vocal mastery. Except George Michael; there was no struggle; he just stepped up and rocked it, with all the power, range, and heart-uplifting nuance that is available to the human voice. I briefly fantasized that Queen would continue with George Michael at the mic, but alas. :'( ....Ok, I'll stop ranting now. This song is just stunning; thanks for the memories, GM. ❤
Too true. I remember watching the Tribute and when they introduced GM I thought “really? George Michael singing a Freddy Mercury song”? Then I was totally blown away. He also did an amazing duet with Elton John on Don’t Let The Sun Go Down on Me and I just realized he did a cover of The First Time (Roberta Flack). What a talent. RIP George Michael. Gone too soon.
I remember hearing the surviving members of Queen wanted George to be their new lead singer after the tribute concert. George declined, saying he could never replace Freddie. While I understand that sentiment, it's kinda frustrating. George Michael & Queen would have been a GREAT pairing together throughout the rest of the 1990s.

If there is one thing George excelled at, it was his own Marketing; he instinctively knew what worked and what didn’t and never could. This, coupled to his creative talent and business acumen made him a force to be reckoned with, back in the late eighties.
He, as Prince and Michael Jackson, is most sorely missed.
He was an extraordinary artist!!! What a voice !!!
I am so grateful to have been a teenager in the 80s. George Michael was a PHENOMENAL songwriter, performer, and vocalist. I had the opportunity to see him in concert and he was absolutely EXTRAORDINARY!!! Gone way too soon. Thank you for sharing your gift with the world and continue to RIP George Michael ⚘⚘⚘⚘🕊🕊🕊🕊
está indo para outro nivel ne mano
Oui on a vécu une époque formidable 👍👍👍👍
Aww I’m so grateful I had the chance to see George perform this song in his Faith Tour in Toronto!! I had the t-shirt with George during this sexy look!!
I ❤️you George!! You are a special soul forever!! 💋❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Me too!!!
I just watched his documentary!! Sooo good!!!
I finished building my time machine.Who would like to go back to
the 80's and 90's with me?😉
Nah I’m fine here with are modern medicine
The Shape you do know modern means now
Then medicine was still good for it’s time
But then they still lacked in the advanced medicine we have now
If you will go back to mid 70s I'm in
I want to relive live aid with my dad, I didn't watch it on TV but I went there to watch it. It was INCREDIBLE!
I'm in. Just need to gather a few names of companies to invest in and also a few people to knock off while I'm at it.
I love George Michael ♥️
Will never be able to get enough of this man, absolute unique human being in every way, we miss you 😢❤❤
That whole Faith Era was just incredible
He is ridiculously attractive omg
Oklay, foreal this is starting to sound gay, what if u constantly talks bout a female liked that?ewww!
Lorna Swasey bruh what?
His Greek blood is why. 'Il sangue non mente'.
@@lornaswasey4687 oh grow up and are you using that word as an insult shows who you really are
@@JamesMartinelli-jr9mh You say that, but his Greek father looks nothing like him, and he looks just like his mother who is British.
The world needs faith! People needs faith! Our society today needs faith! RIP George Michael.
Still tday not a day goes by that one of George Michael's songs doesn't pop into my head. It was this one's turn today, and appropriately so. He was just coming into his own during this album. Elton John called him one of the greatest contemporary composers but he was so much more, 'la totale' as we say in french. He was the only contemporary composer, btw, to ever be invited to perform at the Opéra Garnier with the Paris Symphony orchestra. Respect.
Even as a punk rocker I was always ready to praise George Michael's talent. He was one of the best.
RIP
Cupid Stunt me too
I still prefer Blink, Green Day, Sum 41, My Chemical Romance, The Killers, etc
But this is a George Michael message board.
George left us three years ago tomorrow-Can't believe it's been that long.
Scott Burton love him
Yep...Christmas day 2016. RIP GEORGE

Dear George, another year has passed without you.😢 Seven years ago, the sad news went around the world that you had gone to musical heaven forever. We still remember with love!.💔🌹 I can't imagine Christmas without your beautiful song "Last Christmas"🎄☃☄

This is classic MTV. Before it was bought. I'm so glad I grew up with MTV. George was the man.
There’s so many incredible ‘80’s hits. You’re so right, a FANTASTIC era of music (best decade imo)!
One of the top frontmans of all ages without a doubt
So much talent! I've yet to hear a voice as beautiful as his 💔
I don't care what anyone says. He was a genius.
What about people saying he was a genious?? So...do you care or not??
Mario Gatica 😂🙌
Yes he was!!!
honestly SophieeXD he WAS genius. nobody will ever be like him
Anyone who thinks that George Michael was anything short of a brilliant songwriter, singer, performer and producer of his own work is an idiot. GM we love you and miss you. #gmforever #nextgen
My mom was so in love with George Michael when he first came out in the early 80’s. George grew on me in the mid 90’s with Fastlove. His music was constantly in my life growing up.
It's 2023, and as a 35 year old i have rediscovered George, he is incredible and amazing. I understand his lyrics now and his music hits me totally different now. RIP GEORGE!
RIP the one and only George Michael
This song is still to be reckoned with. Still sounds good in 2021. Love and miss you George Michael
I'm working on a cover of this, electro style (Dj Sneak stuff). Would you like it? I think would get that perfect update it deserves in groove.
oh, Willow, sure, viva Kometen, really hall of fame, the name is Ozzy, star boulevard
👍👍👍👍👍
YES!!! I Absolutely do!!! I can't listen to any of his songs and stay dry eyed!!!
I’ll miss you too George Michael I love you❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for writing this comment
darn it!! we lost the bests... george michael, michael jackson, prince, bowie, queen, and we are left with all the jokers...
Not true
We still have Mariah Carey
Ik, it is sad what we have now
:(
@P3t3r lenny That's what he probably means with the jokers.
We got Pink Floyd and other greats too
I know every game you play because I play them too.. Lover boy
When i think of George Michael this is the song i fondly remember. He was only 24yr old here.
My dad told me that his brother loved George Michael, he said Faith was his favorite song.
Sadly, both George and my uncle passed away.I never got to see my uncle grooving with this song
Those hair, hips movements, looks a lot like the Elvis of the 50's but in the 80's !
slightly better than elvis, to be honest. with better voice variation(versatility), artistry(wrote, composed and produced his own songs),instrumental skills(played almost 90% of instruments on his own in the songs). both are my fav though but GM is hella underrated despite of just 5 studio albums and 115 million record sales. he deserved much more.
as a performer both are equally great with wonderful appeal towards the audience. but as an artist GM is criminally underrated
@@georgemichael3639 GM will never be under-rated by my opinion, about the voice, u must listen to elvis of the 70's .. his vocal range makes goosebumps.. elvis of the 70s is a loooong way better than elvis of the 50s 👌🏻
Thats why they started to call him the King 🔥
@@Richard-xq3tb. Undoubtedly, Elvis was the man's voice💯 but George Michael has got way less appreciation compare to what he deserves especially with keeping the global megastardom he got through his very first solo project 'Faith'. Though it was GM himself who decided to give up that image in which he was in the league of MJ, Madonna And Bruce Springsteen, and instead concentrate only on his artistry and talent rather than caring about his record sales and entertainer image and Due to that in the 90s all that megastardom came to a halt, but his reputation remained the same from the professional point of view and that's exactly how he remained the most played artist Across UK and Europe and ended up being regarded as a National Treasure over there. USA was the only place where he was rejected as an 'Artist' and where people always preferred his 'Faith' era image which Surely overshadowed rest of his way artistically better projects like LWP and Older
Faith was his best Album ever from the entertainment factor
But LWP and Older were definitely better in terms of writing, Production and Artistic factor. Regardlessly he's still managed to sell 115 million records with just 5 mainstream albums so I guess he has proven that USA was never his need in order to remain commercially successful worldwide.
@@georgemichael3639 Well written, great summary, had to just say that...a like would not be enough
Over 20 years later and this song still gives me chills. Her voice is amazing.
😶😶😶😶Her!!!!?
You mean his voice
More like: "over 35 years later"? The album was released in 1987.
My mum's best friends name was faith every time this came on had to sing this to her ,thanks for the memory 🙏
Bless you. ❤
