- Here's an in-depth overview, tour, and review of the all-inclusive adults-only resort Live Aqua, located in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I stayed in a Viento Suite for 4 nights/5 days in January 2024 and I think in that time I got a pretty good feel for the resort.

This place looks beautiful!
It was gorgeous! And so relaxing. Looking at snow right now and wishing I was back there!
Hi! We are in a ground floor beachfront room with a private mini pool. We are going tomorrow. Do you think these will be affected by the construction?
Always liked your videos! My brother and I visited Efteling because of you.
That's so awesome to hear! Hopefully you loved it as much as I did!
Thank you for your quick response. I will check with out travel agent. Thanks again.
This has got to be one of the best reviews on a DR resort. Nice job. You are spot on with your observation of the bathrooms. Too funny! I like your viewpoint of the architecture although when I first saw the buildings etc, it looked like a school campus. Thank you for your efforts.
Thank you! I really appreciate the positive feedback.
Been the past two years and it’s killing me to try another resort this year..(my husband insists 😢) I love it so much!
I know that feeling! But hopefully you'll find a new favorite somewhere else!
Bathroom tip at these resorts: just make sure you have a balcony and designated "bathroom time"- make as much noise as you want while painting the bowl!
Yep, that's what we had to do. "Can you go out on the balcony for a few minutes, please?"
glad to hear the tips on the vegetarian dishes. I wonder if the music is extra loud to try and drown out the construction work sounds?
That's a good point! Yeah, very possible.
Going in a week. Thank you for this comprehensive review. We have booked a GARDEN VIEW SWIM UP ROOM. Paid extra for it. Do you think the construction would be close to these rooms? We experienced construction last year in another resort in Punta Cana and they start VERY early ! Thanks again.
Yeah, unfortunately the Garden View rooms (as opposed to Pool View) are the ones that might be facing the construction. Buildings 2 and 4 are on that side - so try to make sure you get put in 3 or 5. I'm sure they'll be accommodating. Hope you have a great trip!
I wanted to double check about the buildings on the construction side. You said they were buildings 2&4. I just read a trip advisor review and she said that buildings 3&5 were on the construction side. Just double checking as our travel agent sent them a request for buildings 3&5 😱
What’s it like weather wise in July? xx
I think it's pretty much the same year-round. 80s and sunny!
Maybe a dumb question, but in regards to the food does “a la carte” mean that you have to pay for the food? Or is it included in the all inclusive price of the trip? Thank you! Love the video!
It's all included in the price!
What day of the week was the foam pool party?
I believe it's every Friday.
Any future book plans?
Something is definitely in the works... not Disney-related, though.
@@DarkSideOfDisney Won't stop me from buying it 👍
Very anxious for our trip in 3 days to live aqua because of mixed reviews. The customer support is quite hard to reach if you are abroad. They're all via email and its kind of frustrating coz i am trying to set up room decoration for a birthday, hopefully it turns out okay! Place looks beautiful, how was night life??
Luckily once you get there the staff is incredibly helpful. I'm sure they'll be able to accommodate anything you need.
Nightlife... depends on what you like. There is a "disco", although it was completely empty when I went in (and it's not my scene anyway). The sports bar is open until 3, so you can drink and eat and play pool late.
How’s the beach and sunsets ?
Beach is amazing, as you can see in the video. Sunsets were gorgeous.
What all inclusive would you recommend in dr for fun , good food , relaxing , nice beach for 2 single 40 year olds. All in all as a package what would be the best considering everything i menyion?
Me (mid-40s) and my partner (mid-30s) really enjoyed Live Aqua! I would definitely get an Aqua Club room, though.
@@DarkSideOfDisney ok thanks. I'm probably going with a buddy not a spouse or girlfriend. Thought I'd try lopesan but seems to be a few great reviews but a lot of bad comments talking about food poisoning....
Did you only have carry on? You mentioned you didn't have to pick up luggage...Any one can roam the grounds without being Aqua Club if room is not ready FYI......We stayed at a resort 2 doors down (Excellence El Carmen) Dec 2022 and the beach was so wavy, made me not want to stay in the area again but we have LA booked for this Dec. Your beach looked great...Too bad VIP is too many $$$ for us....I will be watching for sales at resorts on Bavaro Beach and may switch to it. And construction is only pertinent to guests visiting in 2024. I would love the footprint of LA PC. Ever been to Valentin Imperial Maya? Massive but really great property.
Yes, only carry-on. I don't think I'll ever check luggage again - to much of a pain! And yes, anyone can roam the grounds before your room is ready, just can't do check-in at the lounge. The beach did have some big waves, but I really enjoyed it! I wouldn't be surprised if the construction lasted past 2024, but who knows? Nope, never been to Valentin, but I'll look into it - thanks for the recommendation.
Quick questions…. I’ve booked this resort because of high ratings for this July. I’ve watched about ten videos tonight and every video shows this place completely empty with people. Now I’m having seconds thoughts.
No, it definitely wasn't completely empty! You can see in my video plenty of people around for the foam party and the magic show. It wasn't super crowded, though, which was nice.
@@DarkSideOfDisney thanks… my wife and I would prefer the quiet but we also enjoy relaxing and people watching too.
That looks like somewhere I’d like to go, looks nice, but
I agree, what’s with these hotels, the bathroom door slides closed, with a gap big enough to watch tv in the next room, and no fan, bathrooms used to have fans, so when you have to take a s@$! The whole family gets to join in on the fun!
And even if me and my wife go here, the shower, ok maybe I get it a little bit, if it’s supposed to be romantic, you can watch them shower
But I like a little privacy, can I take a shower without being seen in the other room, or use the bathroom in peace, with the fan on
Idk who’s idea it was, but all the other hotels/ resorts also thought it was a good idea too
Exactly! I just don't get it. Make the bathroom a separate room with a separate door. Shouldn't be that hard.
