  • In January I traveled to Namibia to validate the roadbooks for the Namibia Roadbook Camp.
Part 3 showcases the type of things you will learn at the Namibia Roadbook Camp, and shows practical examples.
The Namibia Roadbook Camp is a great opportunity to experience, ride and train on some of the tallest sand dunes in the world, in the oldest desert in the world, the Namib.
Two days of sand and dune riding training by a professional (Dirkie Baard), and 3 days of roadbook riding and instruction in the dunes, focussing on off-piste, cap headings, and waypoint validation. This is the perfect preparation for big international rallies.
    - 2 days of dune and sand instruction by a professional
    - 3 days of roadbook riding
    - Option to rent digital roadbooks (limited number)
    - Satellite tracking during event
    - Rental bike option
If you are planning to do any big international rallies where there are dunes, we would highly recommend this, as the biggest disadvantage we have at international events is the lack of proper dune riding experience.
    100% sand, 100% dunes.
For the Namibia Roadbook Camp we are focusing on dune and sand training as well as off-piste cap nav for 5 full days so that you can be prepared for any international rally of your choosing.
    When:
    24-28 July 2023
    Where:
    Walvis Bay, Namibia

    What an amazing experience.
That fesh fesh sand looks like a challenge. Does is accumulate at bottom of steep dune too?

The big dunes seem easier to me than small dunes laid out every which way. At Sonora this year the small dune sections we got were full of little, inconsistent dunes that made it hard to get into a rhythm and keep your speed up. It looked like WWI craters with deep steep bowls everywhere.
Your videos are awesome but your music choice is questionable ;)

100% on the small dunes. They are tougher than the big ones.
As for the music, I have limites options.
