Luvsonic1000 there's some good ones that are cross overs between the MLP and Sonic Universe. Most are kind of like what the heck did I just read?!? But there are some good ones. I'm currently working on one just because the good ones are few and far between though mine is kept at a PG rating or K+ because it's more focused on story than THAT sort of thing. Has a Shadow the Hedgehog/Chaos Control multiverse concept that uses the good parts from '06 (the time travel part) and it's still in a rough draft phase. Wrote in a couple of G rated cutesy moments currently with Fluttershy and the Chao garden but I haven't uploaded it on to fanfiction.net yet...

I’m excited for 2018! We got Nick Park’s Early Man, Isle of Dogs by Wes Anderson, Pixar’s Incredibles 2, another Lakia movie, Teen Titans Go to the Movies, Ralph Breaks the Internet, and Spider-Man. I might missed a few but 2018 is really exciting for animated movies. Also there is no Madagascar 4 in the schedule, in fact there’s no DreamWorks or Blue Sky movies in 2018.

    • @Jonathanest90s
      @Jonathanest90s Před 6 lety +3

TheMightyPancake actually the plot is about the Teen Titans trying to make a movie. The reason why is because the other superheroes got their own movies. So the Teen Titans is looking for people to work with them.
The idea is amazing, I’m hoping it’s executed well. Who knows, it could update the animation to make it look movie worthy or make this a satire to the current trend of superhero movies like the DCEU. We’ll have to wait and see.

I was waiting on your view of Leap since I saw it last year with my friend in cinema and came out absolutely loving it, I adore the film but couldn't place what it was about the film I liked. And honestly I agree with most of the points you made about the film, I really do, but I finally figured out why I like it so much.
When someone is passionate enough about something and they start talking about it I always find it amazing to listen to even if I previously had no inclination towards the topic or had no knowledge of it. When someone gets excited about something I get excited about it too! And I realised that with films like Leap thats exactly what it felt like. It was someone getting really excited about dance and it got me excited too.
I felt exactly the same with the animes Haikyuu, Free, Yuri on Ice, Hibike Euphonium etc, every single one of them got me excited about whatever the characters were excited about, be that swimming or playing in a concert band. And I know I dont enjoy playing in a concert band I used to do it, same with ballet. But watching these made me want to!
And that's why I like it so much. I 100% get why Leap is where it is on your list, but even with all the tropes the fact I was still on the edge of my seat wanting her to succeed and coming out of the cinema wanting to dance made me love this film xD
Anyway, Merry Christmas!! And I cant wait to see Coco when it finally comes out in England!!!!!!!!!

I just found out The Swan Princess now has a few direct-to-video 3D animated sequels. If you can't review them, can you at least comment on the cover for "The Swan Princess: Royally Undercover"? I cannot get over the image of Odette posing and wearing sunglasses.

At least Spider-man: Into the Spider Verse is the first of it's kind. Too bad we have a to wait a whole YEAR for that one, coming out next Christmas. Also looking forward to Wes Anderson's Isle of Dogs (Fantastic Mr. Fox still being one of my favorite animated movies of all time and a dog-lover, I have high hopes) Early Man looks like a good time, with it's animation and caveman humor.

Woo! I was hoping you would go and do this again next year! I remember last year you were pretty unsure and looking at next year seemed like you could get a similar feeling, but we need to have you review that upcoming Teen Titans Go movie that allegedly is coming next summer! lol (But honestly, can't wait for Incredibles, you might like Island of Dogs... I'm not anticipating it, but I remember you liked Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Wreck it Ralph 2... it's exciting!)

I must say that I absolutely ADORED Ferdinand. I thought the story was gripping, many of the jokes were hilarious and it had one of the best messages I have seen in awhile. I liked that it did not sugar coat the horrific nature of such a disgusting, barbaric sport that takes giddy glee in watching something die an agonizing death. While you did not see that in the movie itself, which...who would want to? It let you know exactly what it was about. I loved the juxtoposition of Ferdinand's morals versus the very idea of what he was 'supposed' to be. This movie to me can be summed up with Peace vs Popular morals. This world pushes that you must FIGHT to be on top, you have to FIGHT and kill the bad guy that destroyed your parents, you have to FIGHT the other country to be on top. when....If we were all like Ferdinand the world would be such a better place.
He was willing to die to stay a peaceful person, to not become all that killed his father. He was willing to stand there and let death take him rather than to hurt anyone else. To me.....that is the greatest sign of a hero.

Im curious, you may of explained this in another video, (I'm actually postive you have) but since I dont know where to look, I was wondering why you dont do foreign film such as anime movies. I know there are usually alot of them, but why don't you take a look at the bigger ones such as "Your name" or a "Silent Voice"? Just curious, but also great video as always! :)

It's nice to see comments on the art style. I liked it, but maybe it could have been a little more detailed. I thought the 'smooth' was just to make the characters look more innocent.

I can't believe that 2016 was jam packed with amazing movies...two new Disneys, Kubo, and even Trolls and Angry Birds which were a little trite plot-wise but extremely colourful and enjoyable, came right before this year where literally nothing was of note. And the worst animated movie of 2016 came out January 12 so it was almost forgotten by the holiday season whereas the worst animated movie of 2017 came out July 28, smack in the middle of the year. Weird how deep the contrast was.

Disneys short Ferdinand is a considered a classic in Sweden, it runs on tv every Christmas Eve in a programblock called Donald Ducks Christmas (even though it is Mickey and Jiminy Cricket who presents it) so when I saw the commercials for blue Skys Ferdinand I felt just a bit iffy about it....

1.) Gruff, injured mentor. Just... Give us a mentor who has been trained to actually teach. Like, and actual teacher. One who's kind and fair but not afraid to be a little rough. Constant negativity (as so many gruff mentors seem to be) is psychologically taxing on young kids, and when they're like "OMG SO PROUD" that 180° can be even more confusing to kids.
2.) Forgets friends once they get a taste for fame. Granted, _some_ people are like that, but I feel most people aren't. Personally, if I had "made it big" I'd want my best friends right there with me to celebrate my success, and you can be damn well sure I'll be there when they've achieved theirs.
3.) OKAY so as far as I know, ballet is kinda a team thing. Of course, most people love to strive to be the main character, but you need _everyone_ to work together to make a big show work. I saw _Swan Lake,_ and while the actors and actresses who portrayed the main characters got more stage time, the background characters provided much needed depth and activity to make sure to keep everyone captivated on the whole stage.
4.) Not a point you made Chad, but I wanna add something here. Not everyone who wants to do something will end up being "good enough" for said thing, no matter how long they dream and hope and practice. I want to see one of these movies that pulls the rug out and shows us, "Hey, they tried their damnedest, but in the end, they just weren't good _enough_. And that's okay. There are other ways to be involved in an activity you like without actually being a part of it. Like ballet. Sometimes, you just can't keep your ballance. But that doesn't mean you couldn't help teach them. Or you could design costumes or help out backstage! Not everyone can follow their dreams, but it's still a good thing to try, because you might find you have different talents that can be put to use elsewhere, and that's great too.

I was debating on whether or not Ferdinand was worth watching because the hedgehogs seemed like they were the typical comic relief that would ruin the movie. However, I actually am considering watching it after seeing your review! As for Leap!, I’ve been interested in seeing it for a while now, I’m not the kind of person who normally watches Dance movies (because the most I can think of are all Disney Channel cliques), but since it’s animated, it will probably hold my attention better (I prefer animated movies usually). I just so happen to be a type of dancer too, so I wanted to see if the way certain things played out actually seemed like it could happen. It might not, but I’m still curious either way
