I love Colorado but it sure has lots of people these days. Here are some thoughts on Colorado from yesterday's livestream. Hope you all have a great day! ~ Brian
You definitely hit the jackpot when you purchased your home spot and really happy that you and Sierra are living the life you deserve💖
Thank you Frederica, I'm really pleased with how things are going for me and Sierra out here. Hope you have a great evening. ~ Brian & Sierra
I moved to Colorado 7 years ago. There's a cloud of anger over the state. I don't understand. The climate, outdoor recreation, tax rate is 5 star. EVERYTHING else is sub par. In hindsight I wish I'd went South Dakota. Be well!
I lived there from the mid-80's until the late 90's, imagine how nice it was back then!
That cloud of anger is everywhere where trumpers abound. They cannot stand to lose and they are so worked up over stupid things that they can’t think straight. I don’t know how we are going to solve this as long as outside agitators are allowed to spew their anger and hate.
Sierra loves where she lives too!! Very healing for her. And you!!! 💗👍💗
I was just thinking about that a bit ago...Sierra was outside napping under her favorite tree, I was hanging laundry on my clothesline, and a bunch of birds started singing. I paused for a moment to give thought to how fortunate we are to be out here enjoying a mellow life. Very thankful for this property and Sierra's continued determination to fight cancer.
Colorado is great but the best areas are somewhat inaccessible in the winter and, like you said, there's a lot of resentment from the locals to the transplants. I've only got that 'you're not welcome here' feel in Colorado and Washington. You done good.
I’ll be heading that way this month hopefully to find something like yours. I fulltime rv too with just my dog and I. Need to find one of those ranchette with property owners shared well. I think 20 acres is a perfect size..Stay safe.
That’s what turns me away from Colorado, I fell in love with it when I was stationed there. It’s just so ridiculously expensive.
I agree, the prices are just too high for what you get these days. Such a great area but it's turning into more of a millionaires playground as of late. Always enjoyed my time there but I realize things eventually change. Glad to hit Colorado back in the 80s when I was younger, I'll never forget those times.
Come up to Alaska. The cold keeps away most folks haha...love it
Yeah, I'd love to come up there. I prefer cold weather environments, you are right that it keeps most folks away.
@OffGridBackcountryAdventures it's not that I don't like people.. I just don't like large groups of people like you were referring to in Colorado.
Up here, lands is still cheap, and there are no permits unless you build within city limits. -Summits are beautiful
-glacier water is something else, haha
The ultimate freedom 🙌
@@parrot148 Hardly the place to be if you want to be self sufficient when the weather is trying to kill you for a chunk of the year imo.
A mate of mine has lived there for a fair while now and is just about over it.
Last year he copped a huge insurance co payment when his roof froze and water ran down inside the walls doing a lot of damage.
If you live somewhere that you are reliant on outside resources, such as water, then you really aren't that "free" imo.
@oldbloke204 being honest, never had any major issues. I hunt moose, grouse, rabbit, etc.
Have my own well and small green house. Sounds like your friend lives on the grid fully.
I love the winter. Always take swims in a nearby frozen lake, haha.
@@parrot148 Yeah he lives in a city there.
If you can make it work off grid then all good but most can't.
Such an incredible positive flow and energy that your homestead brings to you and precious Sierra.. Love, Love the quietness and wish it could be captured and shared.
I’m so glad you got this place . Stay for the winter ok Brian . Sierra’s happy out there with you. How’s the soil project going. It’s a great idea.
what a place to live so quiet so peaceful
I feel really fortunate to have found this place, hope your week is going good Dean!
Good morning Brian and Sierra I hope you have a nice day.
😊I love Colorado 👍❤️
Denver is a cesspool and the Mtns are getting way over crowded and I70 is a joke. Whats to like.
I couldn't leave the Colorado Rockies for all the deafening silence in the world. But, to each their own.
I love your property and what you’ve done with it! Especially using the material that you find on your property. It’s beautiful ! I live in Ft Collins and I’ve only been here 7 years but I got lucky and got a house for a great deal right with COVID hit. But we can’t get people to work in my field of cardiac ultrasound bcuz of the housing prices. My hospital was even offering a $20,000 sign on bonus. But too many people are moving here and we’re all feeling it all over the state. I used to live in suburban Chicago and this place is turning into it! I have 9 more years until my daughter is 18 and I want to move somewhere like where you live! It’s perfect!! Until then, I’m going to explore all of the states around me and do as much car camping as we can. I have long weekends and I’m blessed. But I hear every day about how crowded we’re getting. It’s sad. We’re turning into California 😢
I overhead some new transplants dunking on the state because apparently "we have no culture, no roots, cause everyone here is 'from somewhere else'". Broke my heart being a native Coloradan. It's wild that they're right that most people have no roots in our state, doesn't lend itself to a very good community.
In my neck of the woods, I've got just about every type of noise you can think of that you'd hear in a city of just under 3 million.
THIS area, it seems almost quiet enough for you to hear your pulse.
It's so good to see you two doing so well.❤
Thank you Bingus, I'm really glad to have this place for the both of us to relax and focus on our well being. I love it out here and I'm beyond pleased to see Sierra still hanging in there with a good quality of life in spite of her cancer. Have a great evening!
I So Happy for You , I'm been planning on Retiring and move to Arizona .I been looking for a place like yours. Take Care !
Brian, You have a Very Lovely Homestead 😍 👌💙 Can tell that You have worked Very Hard . Stay Safe and Enjjoy !! 🙏💛🌹
Yo moved 3 three years ago to CO from ND, and fucking Love it!! Southern CO just to be clear anything 50 miles north of the 50 SUCKS!!!
Tks, wonderful pricing for land!!!
I think it's absolutely beautiful and privacy is everything... You chose well in my opinion 🤗🤗🤗
Enjoy it! It is a wonderful experience.
The prices are high here in colorado. But the property crash is here 2008 all over again. 2 yrs ago bidding wars on property now look everywhere a for sale sign..
Pagosa Springs is pretty chill and close to New Mexico
I love being in Cortez.
Thank you for all that you do and sharing all that you and your friends do. It’s been a great help to get me comfortable to go car camping with my daughter and dogs and I can’t wait to explore the beautiful area and states around me!!
Sending love from Texas ❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hey Brian looks like you made a little slice of heaven there. I’m finding it harder and harder to get away from people when I go to Colorado. Was just in the upper peninsula of Michigan and it was the same thing. Down in the Ozarks now and much more quiet. I seem to find the most peace in New Mexico and Arizona. Arkansas is also a low key beautiful state just not good in summer with all the bugs and humidity. I look forward to seeing your progress on the property!
I'm so happy for you Brian!!!❤❤. Definitely a lottery win, peace, the sceneries, privacy, your OWN and it's home. 😊
More people more problems. Yeah I imagine anything relatively close to any big cities in Colorado must be crazy now. And a lot of "outdoors" people dont seem to be as cool as they used to be. Maybe its just people as a whole 😂
Thank you again for the info Brian this is Darren in Seligman off grid
Trying to find acreage and a dwelling in northern AZ. I like the rolling land and the trees. You have a nice spot.
I was doing the same and ended up "settling" for a seasonal RV park in Pinetop-Lakeside, so totally not the offgrid thing I intended. That said, from what I've heard, if you're looking at Apache county look at Vernon not Concho. All junipers and maybe some pinons, but they're bigger in Vernon. Makes a big difference for privacy and a little for wind.
Currently. well established on 6 acres in another state but wanting more space with peace and quiet. @@schmonsequences
Agree 100% with the Colorado claims. We're filling up fast. My family has lived here since '72 and it has really changed, especially the past 10 years. Covid accelerated this as well. Prices have plateaued somewhat for land, but still very high. The ski-towns are very expensive, even though we use Serenity as our "Hotel". I suspect the entire West will follow suit as there are a lot of people coming this way. Vacationing at first, but permanently moving here later.
Quiet! why we moved to our location in SE AZ!❤
SE AZ is a great area, hope you are having a nice start to fall!
@@OffGridBackcountryAdventures we had a low of 47 this morning cooling off nicely! Low temp since last winter ❄️
Saw this joke about Colorado: Why couldn't the baby Jesus be born in Colorado? Because they couldn't find 3 wise men or a virgin.
Moved to Colorado in 1982 and left in the summer 2020, should have left 10 yr earlier.
I'm following you. Have you found any artifacts?❤
Yep, Montana the prices in some areas are nuts. Driving locals out, but they seem to have left their politics behind, which is nice.
He in a little town in Oregon 5 miles from my house I can be off grid .
The other problem with places like Colorado, is who is in control of the government. Wyoming, Idaho, Montana(mostly)are FAR better. Although I love Colorado wouldn't want to live there, at least at this current time. CA where I am is a nightmare-but again it's who is in charge-and it's sinking fast. Gas prices, food prices, multiple bans, restrictions, masks, now attempting to force classic cars off the road for "emission free zones" etc. Am planning an escape ASAP.
Soon, by 2030. It will be like this in all of america. And probably most of the world. Or the humans wake up and fight back and take back our world, but I don't see that happening. People are too complacent scared. Good luck with Cali, and your escape plan.
Yeah, they have gone off the rails a bit in Colorado. When I started living there full time back in the late 90s, things were super mellow. No traffic, mountain towns were sleepy, costs weren't bad. I realize things change and I'll always love Colorado but I no longer want to live there. Especially if you're off-grid, the new rules about having EV wiring requirements is an IMMENSE cost for those operating on off-grid power. In the cities you can put one in a new home for about $1K. Off-grid installs are extremely expensive since they need to have enough power storage and a strong enough inverter to charge an EV...not to mention a massive solar field. I've heard some costs in the $10K-$20K range for off-grid applications to be compliant. I feel as though off-grid properties should receive an exception.
Haha.
Yes, you should probably leave.
I live in Co and you are so right!! They have mail in ballots and the Sec of State is a Soros girl and refuses to clean up the voters registration. There are more registered voters than the actual population. I’m from the Chicago area and this place is turning into that. Suburbia!!
Your property is amazing. Touristy areas just bring more and more and more developers, hotels, retail shops, restaurants, condos, apartment complexes, uber expensive housing...and tons of people. Wages go down and everything else goes up in price.
I get it when you talk about what happened to CO. TN has fallen down the same hole. WAY too many people compared to how it used to be...
I overhead some new Colorado transplants dunking on the state because apparently "we have no culture, no roots, cause everyone here is 'from somewhere else'". Broke my heart being a native Coloradan. It's wild but they're right that most people have no roots in our state, doesn't lend itself to a very good community. Feels like eveyone is here just to colonize or exploit.
Fellas, y’all have your opinion have your opinion but I have lived here my whole life and I don’t feel that it’s unwelcome. I agree that prices are definitely getting more expensive as far as the mountain towns. Just depends on where you go if you go to the ones that are very popular, there are a lot of people. We bought property over in the Fort Garland area and really enjoy the privacy and seclusion and quiet. I guess it just depends on where you are and where you want to live and what works for you.
I am looking around that area for land. I’m in Cortez now and it would be perfect if not for a small group of homeless folks.
Did I miss something you toying with the idea relocating from AZ to CO or buying another property👍👍⬆️
I love your place ❤❤
Really nice
Hey Brian.
Hi Vivian!
Wheres there in arizone...
Hi Barry, I'm in the Juniper Mountain in NW Arizona. Really love it up here. ~ Brian
May I ask how you found your property?
My in laws had big piece of land near Durango it was nice eventually they got too old to handle the altitude had to sell move back to AZ. We miss the property it was nice land only downside hall water they were not right near Durango property wasn't that much. There is a big difference between Denver area and rural Southern Colorado. Denver just way to crowded and overpriced. You got a spot over in Prescott area people not so poor compered to Concho where have seen lot of in humane treatment of animals over there.
How did you find your property?
Thank you again for the info Brian this is Darren in Seligman off grid
You bet neighbor, hope your trip to Kingman today was a good one!
I'm off grid Seligman, too! X 13 months so far....
@@cyndib3587 that's cool hope you are doing well thriving not just surviving I an my wife are a little bit past bcc and we're just starting to adjust
Hello been following you, because of the amazing story with you beautiful dog, I was wondering if you still giving her panacur and how is that working? I would really apreciate your information.
