- LeBron James didn't play last night after entering health and safety protocols, but the Lakers rallied to a big 117-92 win against the Sacramento Kings without him. The purple and gold trailed by 14 in the third quarter, but Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook combined for 48 Points in the comeback. After the game, AD told reporters quote: 'We still have to find ways to win. We can't let that affect us... me and Russ as the head of the snake, we've got to be able to continue to lead these guys until LeBron comes back.' Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe share what last night's game told them.

Rondo should get some love too. In 8 minutes dude came in and changed the game.
Rondo first entered the game in the third quarter, when the Lakers were up three.
Rondo grabbed an offensive rebound 1 minute later, dished to Russ, who got it to Monk for three: that’s a hockey assist.
Rondo then gets a board and gets the ball to Melo which put the Lakers up 9
Rondo then makes a layup at the end of the quarter to put the lakers up 13
Beginning of the 4th, Rondo then makes his last bucket of the game and put the Lakers up 15. Very next play, gets a board then an assist to Ellington for 3, putting the Lakers up 18

It was the defensive intensity and the confidence that brings.
Had they played defense like this all season they would be roughly 16-7 given the weak early schedule they've had.

Of course The Lakers have a bunch of small guards, none with a reputation for playing defense, so Coach Vogel's hands are a bit tied, but come on!

Switch out Howard for Bradley and play AD at the 5 to start. they should never play Russ, AD and Bron together unless AD is 5 cus adding another centre just means no spacing.
Been saying that since November. Dwight should start, he plays Smart defense and does all the dirty work down low. Having Dwight at 5 opens up AD’s game. Defensively AD and Dwight are both good at shoot blocking/ help side defense. Offensively just having Dwight makes AD focus more on offense by conserving his energy on defense while being a help side defender. Plus Howard has proven he can be a stretch 5. Dudes shooting with confidence. By having AD on the block. Make him eat all day.
So yesterday
DeAndre should be benched. THT should start at SG with Ellington playing as the Marco belinelli-like bench shooter
But having dwight on the floor means less space for russ and AD. Can't really have a championship level offense with 3 non shooting players in the court

Sources say it was part of the deal that got him out of Brooklyn. Same thing with Drummond last year, someone (Vogel or Pelinka) promises X minutes or a starting role. If they go back on their word, DJ's agent freezes the lakers out in the future.
Give Howard more playing time. DJ's game has become obsolete he's unplayable already.

I was at that game last night............and the Lakers were a different team in the 2nd half! Sacramento had no chance once the Lakers got rolling.
BTW......There were more Lakers fans than Kings last night. About 60/40 Lakers

Skip is funny. The entire time they talked about defense being the reason for the turn around. Skip then tried to make it about Lebron shooting too many 3's. They already talked about how many shots the Kings stars had the last game and how the bench scored 70plus point. He actin like the Lakers have not played a game without LBJ until last night. He actin like we didn't see the Lakers win with Lebron.

THT should not be playing. Dude is a liability on both sides of the court. Caruso > THT. It's not a coincidence he didn't play in the 2nd half and the lakers took off on both ends. Also helps to have Rondo a POINT GUARD playing instead of having THT or monk run the point. Vogel finally made a correct rotational change after failing the first 20 games or so. Hopefully he can do the same in the future instead of only when he's on the hot seat.

@@carliscooks6670 Malik is better defensively and is a much better shooter and overall offensive player. He makes dumb mistakes but honestly his firepower is worth it. THT is bad on both sides of the floor, his only good asset is he can drive to the basket. But with a center, Lebron, or Westbrook it doesn't make sense to play him at all. At least caruso was good on defense and could hit 3s once in a while. THT is just bad. Doesn't matter if he's physically built to play good defense, he has awful fundamentals and team awareness. I think he might be the worst laker player by a long shot and he still gets plenty of minutes.. I just don't see why he's getting playing time. They should trade him ASAP while his value is high.
THT has no midrange jumpshot and his 3 point shooting is suspect. His defense is awful

Well your objective so I have to agree. 4 things to look forward to is: the return of Ariza. Though he may play spot up minutes he solidifies the defensive rotation dramatically. Naturally they will be more cohesive as they play more games together minimizing those stupid turnovers. Russel Westbrook is As advertised HE DOES GETS infinitely better as the season goes along. And this roster was Made to be a playoff roster. They still have another roster spot if they actually waived DJ or BAZEMORE they can add another wing defender. MJ’s TEAMS were favorites to big favorites in 6/6 finals, LeBron’s TEAMS were underdogs to massive underdogs in 7/10 finals so finals record isn’t apples to apples. LeBron clearly had harder FINALS comp if looking at objectively as 9/10 finals opponents LeBron faced had 2-5 HOF on them where as 3/6 Finals MJ played against had only 1 HOF on them and the other 3 had 2. MJ had super tough comp in the East in 80s when his team wasn’t as great but in 90s his comp wasn’t as great, his TEAM (led by him who was especially incredible 91-93) was best TEAM! MJ was amazing 85-90 but it took Pippen becoming Top5 player and Horace Grant being damn solid as well as key role players as well as his comp not being as great to even make the Finals which shows it’s a TEAM accomplishment to make/win finals!
I don’t fault LeBron for those losses (outside of 2011 which is on him for not being more aggressive and they were slight favorites even though that Mavs team had just swept Kobe/Pau b2b title team and beat Durant/Westbrook/Harden in 5 games but otherwise he’s 2-0 when favored and 2-5 when underdogs) just like I don’t fault MJ for being owned by better favored teams in 80s losing 5/5 times to Celtics & Pistons (swept twice, and losing in 5/6/7 in others).
