    I run some Chinese tires on my daily driver. They're fine, and perform nearly as good as my Michelin tires (which were replaced) in the snow. You get what you pay for, but if you're on a tight budget, purchasing a cheaper tire is fine.

      Price wise maybe best, but not quality wise.
      I see tv commercials with nigerian people and people of 3rd world nations, begging for money, with people like that, I doubt the quality is good, since the people don't even eat properly and with cheap labor, I'm quite certain that some of them will put in defect into the tire, because they needy and mad at the tire company,even if they work for the company, therefore in attempt to bring company down and get some money, the defect will be in the tire even as new.
      Sorry to say but don't trust 3rd nation people, as they will do even bad things just to get the money, I have had my experiences with cheap, greedy, deceiving, people from 3rd nation places before, its mostly bad news, people from such places.
      Sorry if offended by reading this comment, but just being honest and realistic about this, The Truth Be Told, don't trust a person from 3rd world nation.

    • @theroyalcrownedtiger2946
      @theroyalcrownedtiger2946 Před 7 lety +4

      Go with well known, long time in the business, tire manufacturer, such as: BFGoodrich, Bridgestone, Firestone, Good Year, Mickey Thompson, General, Continental, Michelin, Pirelli, Cooper,Uniroyal, Nexen, Toyo, Dunlop, Hankook, Kumho,Yokohama, and so forth.
      You get what you pay for.
      you pay cheap, you get cheap results.
      You pay premium, you get premium results.
      In north america, I have seen the police cars and ambulances and school buses have all or mostly have good year tires on them, think of it, theres a reason why they have them, they put alot of demands on those tires, the tires have to be very good quality and safe, to be put on emergency and school vehicles.
      You won't see the commercial used vehicles, listed above, with the cheap quality tires, because cheap quality tires are not good quality, and not safe.
      Your life depends on the tires on your car, tires are safety components, just like the brake parts, brakes provide about half the stopping power, then the tires put about other half the stopping power, and control aspects.
      If you install cheap quality parts, you are relying on cheap safety, the life of people is worth alot more than cheap quality parts, and life is not replaceable once death or critical injuries has happened.
      Also don't be begging and expecting to get premium quality parts at cheap price, it don't work like that.
      To buy premium quality parts, look out for sales from store flyers, online, etc, and buy it like that.
      If its not on sale at one place, try another place, and they might have it on sale.
      Drive safe with premium quality parts and have a nice day.

Either way, this report is very biased.

      @nigahiga6400 Před 8 lety +3

      +Mijc Osis (mycosys) That's true. One of the better Chinese tire companies is Warrior and Double Coin, they used to have a virtual monopoly in the fleet tire market in Shanghai, all the taxis and buses had their tires. That's hundreds of thousands of miles a year. They partner with Michelin and that quality shows. Plus most brand name tires are made in China because of cheaper labor costs. As long as quality control is up to the same standard it doesn't matter where they're made.

    Here are my tire recommendations
    Pirelli p4 seasons plus- can last up to 100k miles and does good on dry climate with little to no snow or rain it's only downside is it's not very sporty and is only ok/ meh in the rain and snow, wouldn't recommend for a area where is rains or snows a lot
    Toyo Celsius or Celsius sport- this tire really only lasts 40k miles(you might get a little more if your lucky) but has the best snow performance I have ever seen from an all season it also does good on cold rain. Perfect all season for snowy cold damp climates
    Nitto nomad grappler - best SUV tire hands down it's an all terrain tire that lasts about 50k miles give or take and stikes a great balance between on road and off-road capabilities , rides surprisingly quiet for a tire with as much tread as it has , Its not the most sport oriented tire so it wouldn't be good if you drive your SUV like a racecar and you are always making the tires screech , But the traction that the compound provides is insane, the rain performances surprises me and if you need to go in mud or in the rocks it has the tread for it.The snow performance is great but if the temp is below -5° a lot you would probably want a dedicated snow tire over this
    Bridgestone Blizzak(any of them) This snow tire is known for having some of the best snow traction that a road tire can have, They are even used in rallycross events when racing in snow, the rubber compound won't turn into a hockey puck at -20 degrees, They do good in sludge and in icy climates , only problem is you are lucky to get 20k miles out of them and you are not driving them in temps above 45°F This is a good tire for a place where it's blow freezing 90 percent of the time or snows like crazy

The Pegasus did have a problem however there were very very few of them even made and you couldn't buy them even if you wanted to. What about all the problems Firestone had? The Firestone tires were Union made in the USA. What it comes down to is that a very small percentage of both usa made and chinese made tires have had problems.
    Also it fails to mention that almost all the companies including continental, pirelli, michelin, good year ect make some of their tires in China and most tires are no longer made in the USA because of environmental regulations. The tires they compared the to Sunny and Geostar are most likely made in Brazil, Mexico or Canada.
    I know a lot about tires and the geo star and Sunny tires have both been good. Even the article says that the performance is slightly less than a Michelin that costs twice as much. Who really wants to spend $170 on a michelin tire? When they could get a Sunny tire for $85? I have had a lot of good luck with Sunny tires they wear just as long as the michelins and they are great for every day driving.
    Chinese made tires have the same safety regulations and dot ratings as American made tires. My family is on a budget and Chinese tire are the best choice for my family. We have the lanvigator brand tires which are made in China on 2 of our vehilcles and we are very happy with them. On one of our trucks we have over 60,000 miles on them and they still have good tread left.

    Maybe in the US there's no bargain but here in the UK they are, as there's strict rules regulations and tests done on them. My tires only cost 36£ each not Inc vat or fitting but for 2 tires fully fitted at 86£ your laughing for each 20k plus miles they last. If a shop offers most expensive they are simply upsellin saying they are best but realistically they are the same. Just not branded.

    All tires are a compromise: want long life? usually means a harsh ride..good cornering?=short tread life. Some of the worst tires are some of the most expensive-i had some high end Pirellis that wore out in 15,000 miles. that said, all of the low end tires under major brands are usually made in china or Korea-I bought a low end Dunlop for my car-they wore out fast. For me, BF Goodrich is a good compromise-seem to wear well and give a good ride. Nokia is the best-but very pricey

      Vibhu Srivatsa Iyer How long a tire last is base on so many things, how you drive, speed, Terrain, air pressure, vehicle type, weight distribution of the car, how much of a load in car or truck, hard or soft rub design of tire, alignment of vehicle, cornering, how often you rotate tires, and so much more. When I worked at Volvo the Michelin OE Tires would go very fast,people would be upset with it and we put on Hankook that lasted a lot longer on volvos. I am not a Hankook fan but they did last longer. Just so you know my Chinese tires are still on my car and are great plus took the car on the track in Sept and did not die. lmao

      Delinte are terrible. They have narrow belts, the shoulder joins are weak making the contact patch inconsistent, they are noisy, have terrible wear rates and their braking distances are HUGE when you compare them to the big boys. A poor quality tire won't show you it's poor quality until you really need it to perform and when you need braking or grip or stabiliy Delinte won't give it to you.

    Which this add is paid by American tire company's. I bought China tires that perform well. For example Comforser brand. I have them on my truck Comforser CF3000 M/T tires and they perform pretty damn good. Good in mud and snow and dry pavement. Rain well any m/t tire will not perform to well in rain. Also Pathfinder A/T tires. These tires perform well in all conditions just as good as Nitto. Not saying that they are not any bad China brands but there are some China brands that can perform just as good as American. You have to do your research first. Comforser are made in a large factory. The machines that make them are from Germany and America. They make there tires from the same materials. Saw this on CZcams and produce 20 million tires a year and served all over the world. Obvious this add the picked the cheapest China brand to compare to a American tire. Why didn;t they get the best China tire and then compare?

    Chinese tires are lower spec no doubt but look for the manufacture date. I'd rather buy 4-6 month old Chinese tires than 4 year old Michelins. When rubber gets old it hardens and cracks so even the quality made tires are no longer any good past 6 years old.

    Sure, cheap tires may not be as "good". But you buy an expensive tire, and they are dry rotted in 2 years. I've had to tell far too many customers that their expensive Goodyears, Michelins etc with like new tread were junk and needed replaced. (For the record, I am pro "buy American", but if the product is junk.... I'm not stupid, I'm not buying it).
