Thank you! Not had boot access on my disabled mum's car for months... had our local mechanic look into it at the cost of ÂŁ40, nothing. Now I've got the parts coming for ÂŁ20 and can open it manually while I wait for the parts... Legend! Also love that you put text instructions on your videos, brilliant!
You're very welcome, I'm glad it helped !
Thanks so much for this! I couldn't find the manual boot release switch, because I didn't realise the little plastic cover could be popped off. It was driving me crazy!
Your video made it all incredibly clear and easy. Thank you!

@@screwsnutsandbolts I've replaced the latch but boot still won't open with button. Do you know what else I can try. Only have after market key.
There could be a problem with the switch in this unit: czcams.com/video/-OMafIaj9DU/video.html
@@screwsnutsandbolts nice one I've ordered a new switch
Any chance can you upload a video on how to change the indicator bulb on the internal Dashboard please. I love the playlist you have. Keep going!!
Thanks, I did that already: czcams.com/video/CaXtcyGZoQQ/video.html
Hiya my boot wont open but im not sure if i need to replace the mechanism? How would i be able to tell if that is faulty? đ
Thanks for all the helpful videos! Occasionally I can't open the tailgate at all, is there a way of knowing whether I'd need to replace the tailgate handle or lock?
Thanks, it sounds like the switch in the handle is faulty but it's hard to tell, especially when the problem is intermittent. Can you feel the button in the handle click each time you press it or does it seem soft at times or not click occasionally ?
@@screwsnutsandbolts thank you for the reply! Yes I definitely feel the in-and-out clicking on the handle, it's the lock that unlocks some days and doesn't on others.
â@@biscuitbiterlaI have the exact same problem. Sometimes it just randomly unlocks itself while I'm driving
Nissan from 2004;)
I have an older Micra and it doesn't have that white switch. Any ideas?
What year is your Micra ?
Hi. Thanks for all these K12 videos. Could you please do one on replacing the fuel filler flap locking mechanism, ours has broken and Iâve had to remove the flap as thereâs now no way to keep it closed. Thanks in advance.
Is the inner catch broken or part of the flap, or the cable ?
@@screwsnutsandbolts Thank you for taking the time to reply. Itâs the inner catch that the fuel flap clicks into and the cable pulls to release it, not the lever in the car. Our fuel flap wonât click shut so have had to remove it to get through an MOT.
You're welcome. Does the catch move in and out of the body when you pull the lever ?. If it does, could the metal receiver on the flap itself be bent out of shape ?
Had a quick look and it appears to be correctly shaped but something seems to be missing that would latch the flap, is there a plastic part in there? If so then that part is broken/missing. Iâll need to replace that part, obviously itâs bolted on from the outside but Iâm not sure how to get behind it to unhook the cable.
@@screwsnutsandbolts Sorry, wrote a reply and Iâm sure it went but canât see it.
There doesnât appear to be a catch, is it plastic? If so it broke off. Thereâs nothing for the flap âprongâ to click into just a hole where it should be.
Just wondering if you can lock this up same way? đđ€
I think it only releases the catch
Which year is this car
This is a 2003 K12 Micra
Typically it's a Renault part that fails, pity they didn't just use a key and cable release like the old models....
Typical! Mine doesn't have one!
