    Thank you! Not had boot access on my disabled mum's car for months... had our local mechanic look into it at the cost of ÂŁ40, nothing. Now I've got the parts coming for ÂŁ20 and can open it manually while I wait for the parts... Legend! Also love that you put text instructions on your videos, brilliant!

    Thanks so much for this! I couldn't find the manual boot release switch, because I didn't realise the little plastic cover could be popped off. It was driving me crazy!

      Thanks, it sounds like the switch in the handle is faulty but it's hard to tell, especially when the problem is intermittent. Can you feel the button in the handle click each time you press it or does it seem soft at times or not click occasionally ?

      @@screwsnutsandbolts thank you for the reply! Yes I definitely feel the in-and-out clicking on the handle, it's the lock that unlocks some days and doesn't on others.

    Hi. Thanks for all these K12 videos. Could you please do one on replacing the fuel filler flap locking mechanism, ours has broken and I’ve had to remove the flap as there’s now no way to keep it closed. Thanks in advance.

    • @screwsnutsandbolts
      @screwsnutsandbolts  Pƙed rokem

      Is the inner catch broken or part of the flap, or the cable ?

    • @rstmg60
      @rstmg60 Pƙed rokem

      @@screwsnutsandbolts Thank you for taking the time to reply. It’s the inner catch that the fuel flap clicks into and the cable pulls to release it, not the lever in the car. Our fuel flap won’t click shut so have had to remove it to get through an MOT.

    • @screwsnutsandbolts
      @screwsnutsandbolts  Pƙed rokem

      You're welcome. Does the catch move in and out of the body when you pull the lever ?. If it does, could the metal receiver on the flap itself be bent out of shape ?

    • @rstmg60
      @rstmg60 Pƙed rokem

      Had a quick look and it appears to be correctly shaped but something seems to be missing that would latch the flap, is there a plastic part in there? If so then that part is broken/missing. I’ll need to replace that part, obviously it’s bolted on from the outside but I’m not sure how to get behind it to unhook the cable.

    • @rstmg60
      @rstmg60 Pƙed rokem

      @@screwsnutsandbolts Sorry, wrote a reply and I’m sure it went but can’t see it.
      There doesn’t appear to be a catch, is it plastic? If so it broke off. There’s nothing for the flap “prong” to click into just a hole where it should be.
