    The problem is possibly a bad flex cable used to connect the optical pickup to the CD player circuits.
    Check the flex cable for any sharp bends where there could be broken conductors.

    I have a model CX-NA31 - CD spins three times and quits... the tray shifts to the next CD and does the same thing... Replacement parts aren't available - best thing about it is the programmable features and the optical output but their CD laser eyes have a short lifespan

    If electronics such as stereos have problems and are not fully functional then you should always have a fire extinguisher close by for safety when your plugging them into the wall and testing them out because sometimes the capacitors and other internal components inside them explode and create sparks and smoke which can cause a fire

      Ya well thats when ill just unplug it, and toss it out my door, then put the fire (if theres any) out with the hose haha

    Just a comment, but it almost looks like the CD player isn't playing because the laser head can't move into the proper position. Considering how dirty that unit is, I might have cleaned the small guide rail that the laser head travels on, put a very tiny drop of lube on it, and try again. I would think those motors would rarely go out and with the extremely dirty condition of your unit, I would lean more towards a cleaning issue than a motor failure.

    Same happens to mine. When I shook my aiwa, I got it to start playing the CD, it started skipping five minutes later

      The same thing happened to my grandfather's CD jukebox, he would have to replace the CD drive like 5 times because of the laser

    CD Mechanism seems to be all busted. It was a freebie anyway and its a Aiwa, you got some value there.

      true. ill eventually try some more on the mechanism later. but still plays cassettes and hi-speed dubb recordings sound great.

    These older Aiwas always had some sort of issue with the cd player.

  • @TheJVCguy
    @TheJVCguy Před 2 lety

    My JVC MX-GT700 has this same issue. Before the entire cd mechanism didn't even open, but I got everything working and it opens up and takes the disc now, but the cd does not spin.

    • @christronicsdereksrandomness36
      @christronicsdereksrandomness36  Před 2 lety +1

      Hmm. Might be a dead optic so it doesn't see a CD or the motor isn't spinning the CD

    • @TheJVCguy
      @TheJVCguy Před 2 lety

      @@christronicsdereksrandomness36 I think it's the motor. The laser I can see is glowing through my camera and it moves around. Just the cd won't spin.

    • @christronicsdereksrandomness36
      @christronicsdereksrandomness36  Před 2 lety +1

      @@TheJVCguy ok. Ya must be a bad motor or the circuitry to it may be broken so there's no current getting to the motor

    Tape Cassette Rewind Fast Forward is Not Working Belts Melted.

    • @christronicsdereksrandomness36
      @christronicsdereksrandomness36  Před 5 lety

      Yes im aware of that. And the belts weren't melted they were dried out and stretched not enough tension on the pulley for rew and fast forward to work.

    My solution is connecting a external portable CD player to this because the CD portion is damaged

      ChrisDerekKyle LeeCharlandHassen it was a KOSS portable CD player from 1996 with 10 second anti skip protection. I connected it to my aiwa and used a 4.5volt adapter for it
