I like the way he said that at the beginning of the first 3 seasons. Always made me smile. Then they changed it for the 4th season, I guess they had to cut Billy's wife out. Aaah snake wasn't funny anymore.

@ShockDoc It could be $200. I work in pest control, and I caught a black-racer that was harboring around a Wachovia Bank, and the bank was willing to pay $250. But it's generally not that expensive. This place was over an hour away from where I live, and the price would have dropped to about $50 had I not have caught the snake.

Billy didnt get arrested for drugs. Ricky did. But they were minor charges. There was a family dispute and Billy left the company and moved to another state andI believe works an office job now. This guy is actually very well educated.

When you get bitten, you need to disinfect and dry it, then super glue it and you can work with no problem after that. My hubby shot his thumb when he fired a gun, by accident, and it worked for him.
This is actually the same thing as a Diamondback watersnake, this one is called a yellow belly Watersnake. there is a few types of these guys throughout the south and even here in texas. Alot of people mistake these for a Moccasain because of how they flatten their heads out in defense of attacks, they are not venomous and cant cause any harm but they do have a very nasty smell they release when threatend

@iloveyewbunch of course he released it. he put the snake in the bag to 1.secure it and 2. For easy transportation. Your not gonna release a snake right back in the yard behind a house. And if you think it's staged, go check out the episode "python power" i doubt anyone would stage a 15 ft python extraction from under neath a house
I just saw this guy on an episode where he captured a water moccasin and he put in a small plastic grocery bag. Then he let a dog sniff the bag while touching his nose on the bag. What an amateur move!! That snake could have bitten the dog right THROUGH the bag! UNSAFE!!!!!! Use a canvas bag!!!!!!!

@zach11991 Not in that case. Exterminators don't know everything about animal biology/identification (though they should know how to tell water snakes from rat snakes), but we do know more than the "average Joe". A good exterminator is more concerned about how to keep the "pest" species from coming back. =-)

Billy is right in using the round pupils and scale pattern under the tail to identify as non-venomous, but his conclusion of "rat snake" is way off. For anyone that is actually interested, it's a Yellow-bellied Water Snake (Nerodia erythrogaster flavigaster). It's a common snake in the South and one that Billy should probably recognize in his line of work. I don't watch the show, but this definitely dramatizes something that really isn't a big deal. Any good snake man would have just grabbed it.
