BIG SWIMBAITS FOR BIG BASS!!!

- What a great week. Caught a seven pounder and a five pounder and missed another big one on huge swimbaits! Did a little bit of fishing with some "Normal gear" tossing some crankbaits but in the end, the bigger baits prevailed !

You are my new found inspiration. I live in Illinois and my friends and people at the tackle shop call me crazy for wanting to using 1-4 oz baits but I see results for other people and I want the same results
haha thanks Max! No way man, big baits work!! I've been using them for two years and have caught more big bass on them consistently over the last two years than I have my whole life!
Do U have any suggestions for starting baits and set ups? I am still very much an amateur swimbaiter and have not thrown big baits almost at all

Nah bro, it's been slow. All my fish are on beds. Trying a nose weighted gantarel on the beds next week. I just can't stand bed fishing. Waiting for post spawn really...

what's up Grant congratulations on that nice hog ! I just caught my first big swimbait fish it was 21 1/4 .inches My scales not working it said 1. 93 but It hit A Real Prey 7 .25 forage trout. It was probably 5.5 lbs . Wow am I pumped. I videotaped it just trying to figure out how to send it to Facebook.

Midwest BigBaits there is a fishing tournament in Jennings Missouri at a park called Koeneman Park there is some nice size bass up to 4lbs and bigger but i didn't caught one yet over 4 pounds my personal best is 3.5 lbs . the forage is bluegills and trout . The tournament is on 6/10/2017 from 7am to 12pm .
also there is catfish , sunfish and trout . channel catfish is up to 4.5 lbs to 9.25 lbs . sunfish ( 1/2 lb to 1.5 lbs+ )
trout is up to 8.5 lbs

I haven't really caught any good ones here in the Midwest, but caught my PB 7 lbs in Florida. Where are u located in the Midwest and do you have luck on hudd 8" because I was wanting to get one?

My biggest fish in Illinois was 7 lb. My favorite bates r s waver 200, deps 250s, Huddleston 8-inch and Savage gear line through shad and trout.

Jerkbaits in the winter time are a great option for catching monsters. I have caught plenty of decent sized fish on swimbaits, but my PB was caught in February and it was around 9 lbs. I've got a video of the release on my channel
Isaac Pelletier jerkbaits are great! That's one of the main lures I use
I'll be honest...I hate fishing them. They take a lot of patience and they aren't the most fun to fish. But they sure do catch the winter giants.

That's all I do in the winter. It's all a big confidence game. I have confidence with the s-waver....so I'm ok fishing it for a couple hours without a bite. As long as I'm confident that the bait I'm throwing is the best option, I can throw it all day.
I love the s waver. It's a great bait! Swimbaits are a commitment, that's for sure!

I’m in Wisconsin, pike are everywhere I fish... I’m not too keen on using mono or fluoro, I have a feeling these pike/musky will hit before the bass do. Any suggestions on what line to use?

since you like bass fishing I have a funny story to tell so today I was fishing around the grassy area around my pond but I was mostly looking for bass unfortunately I was using a small fish bait but the tail on it so the bath must have thought that it was a little fish that I can buy off the tail with and make it sink to the bottom and eat it but I had it for maybe about 5 seconds before it came off I was really sad but then I found out that the tail-end was bit off and I was laughing my butt off
