..Steph?
Stephen Curry?
Give it a slack with steph curry, the give me a screen and i shoot a 3.
Far more better feature dirk's move
Lebron's signature shots? The lower leverage of both his shoulders into his defender's chest, before flailing his arms for a foul?
He's a smart player, mid range shots are always there no matter what, either fade or use a screen and there's basically an easy 2 points for you, once you master the fade like Jordan and Kobe it's hard for any defender to guard you
Karl Malone mastered it too towards the end of his career.
James Harden should take note
@@maninblack9850 that 16 - 20 foot shot from Karl was $$
kd has the best midrange of all time tho. Both effeciency wise and number of mid ranges attempted
Not on dirk my man
mid-range is fine so long as you shoot them efficiently. remember when rockets missed 27 consecutive 3s? bet they wish they could have shot a good mid-range and get the players going
Enthusiastic Zestful Villainy I hate when teams seem like they are forced to shoot 3s even if they keep missing
That game was obviously fixed for the Warriors to repeat. It started with Paul's injury
@G C what? A wide open elbow shot is harder than a contested layup. Players pass up wide open mids to take contested layups all the time for no reason 💀
@G C thats the thing, when ppl are coming off of ball screens, they are wide open most of the time
G C that wasn’t his point though. His point was that a lot of players would force themselves into the paint for a contested layup when they would have an open mid range jumper. If they don’t take the 3, they try and go into the paint for a layup when a lot of times they would have an open mid range jumpshot
Kobe MJ Kawhi pure artistry on the court and beautiful to watch.
Yep, good students of MJ.
Ye lets just forget others who can knock down mids like they do. AI, Demar, KD, Mcgrady, Karl Malone ( Late in career ), bird, many more.
KD is the best mid range assassin ever
MJ dropped 500 mid-range shots in 96 season at 49.5% shooting. Crazy efficient.

Clearly not the same level in terms of athleticism and fluidity of movement, but for modern NBA players he is the closest thing to MJ
His hands is huge like Jordan
I agree kawhi is more robotic with his movement
of course you'll be reminded. even in the nba very few people can palm the ball like jordan and kawhi.
If kawhi had the athleticism and playmaking of like a westbrook he would be mj

kawhi did say that he watches kobe and MJ game highlights
He makes sure to turn off his TV when LeBron is on though

During Tony Parker's prime (2007), he had a deadly mid range too...

Tony Parker was a great mid range shooter because his 3 point shot wasn't great, and Popovich knew how to utilize his strengths.

Very true
I’m not disagreeing lol I’m telling u how the analyst and talk show hosts contradict themselves. It’s all analytics and about the 3 but your best player religiously shoots the mid range. Even KD shoots the mid range. They WANT Giannis to shoot the mid range. But it’s dead? Lol it’s hilarious. Maybe just maybe analytics is stupid cuz u can’t measure heart and willpower.
@@astrocade9541 the point is that role players shouldn't take midrange shots, superstars can take whatever they want if they can make it at a good enough rate, no one is saying Kawhi shouldn't take them what analytics say is that you rather have PJ Tucker spotting up in the corner than trying to hit fadeaway 20 footers

GREAT video, not just in solid content, but in presentation. Perfect, really.
As a Native Tortonian, that shot will never be forgotten :)

Never seen the replay from that angle, tbh I can see why a lot of salty sixers fans complain about a no call for a travel on the inbounds catch. Still a great shot though, glad y’all beat GSW

I didn't know y'all were called Tortonian
Im so much love mid range- arsena like pullup, fadeways, turn around is deadly weapon. And beatifull look also
That's the soul of the game.
been saying this for a while, he reminds me of Jordan in so many aspects of his game and the jumper just adds to that now
He puts on work with kobe bryant...
But for real mj and lobe is the deadleast player to ever play the game...
He’s got the Big hands like Mike and Pippen.
MJ and Kobe in his prime will dominate this era
That is true that is why Qui Leonard gets all his points nobody plays defense anymore used to play back then he wouldn't have all those points just saying
I know it's late, but what's funny is actual NBA players actually agree on this statement
Curry will average more than MJ did in the Jordan's era, if you go back and look at the games they don't guard the 3 point line at all, imagine Curry shooting 15 uncontested threes a game
@@chelmg9537 Because there weren't as many 3 pointers back then, believe me if players were shooting as many 3's in the 90's defences would have adjusted to contest the 3 more.
@@garymoore2733 that's not true, today's teams actually gets stops at the same rate, adjusted for pace, as 80s and 90s teams. The 80s and early 90s in particular were very close in terms of scoring and getting stops. This myth always spreads around based on nostalgia but the truth is that if today's teams don't play D, then neither did teams of any other era.
That Elo shot from MJ.....Timeless
True...we were talkin' about this free throw line mid range pull up last week. Nice analysis.

Carmelo Anthony, DeMar DeRozan, LaMarcus Aldridge, & Jayson Tatum
Yeah his fadeaway is clean, he makes a lot of tough shots
Uhhhh
this is the best thing you guy have ever put out honestly
Give Chip Engelland his props, the best shooting coach in the league, transformed Kawhi offensive game. The years in San Antonio made Kawhi the best in the league, even the efficiency with which he plays. In San Antonio rookies don’t average 15 FGA like other teams do, you learn the game, earn your spot in the lineup for defense, getting your points off cuts and open court, all the while training
and developing your offensive game, after a handful of years you start to assume more offensive responsibility and even then you only take open shots until you’re bonafide shooter than can create for yourself, then the offense starts to evolve around you. That’s the path Kawhi took and that’s the path Dejounte Murray is on, probably won’t be Kawhi good but his defense is elite for a guard and his offense is slowly catching up. He even signed with New Balance. Mini Kawhi
100% truth! Never noticed it til I watched this, but it does remind me of the greats. Not quite as fluent as MJ, but nobody was as fast & smooth as the goat
Clippers fans are going to love watching Kawhi, Paul George & Sweet Lou play together. Those three create off the dribble and consistently hit those pull up midrange shots.
P.S. I’m predicting the next 2 finals

Clippers vs Nets 2021 (Clippers in 5)

Very true and nostalgic...
He’s such a unique and dynamic player. There’s such a defensive mind that from time to time his offense is underrated.
All these 3 have amazing core strength and balance, which is crucial for pull up jumpers
That shot against the 76er's man, I watched that live and time stood still for a second watching that ball bounce off the rim...

I love both Kawhi and DeMar. When I watch them, I saw Kobe on them lol.
Solid Kobe fan here.
Mid range pull up will never outdated. That shot separates gods from greats in most cases
I could still feel the thrill from the shot bounces in that sixers series
Mid-range shots are tough, that's why most defensive teams are ok with letting that shot and focus on blocking the 3s or the lane. Having a player like him being that efficient on that shot opens up great possibilities for 3s or dunks
That wasn’t a “shot” from Chris Paul

Chris Paul... still no rings 🤷♂️

Kawhi Leonard is so special! Nice research and analysis. K.L. is unique. From Brazil, Chris and Hugo with LAC until the end:)
This is a good series. I liked the Giannis and Harden videos too.
The dislike came from a nerd in the analytics department
This is a great example of people going online and declaring war on each other. Analytics - if they get calculated rigorously - aren't wrong. Likewise, a superstar who does what works for him - if he does it well enough - isn't wrong, either. And the two things aren't mutually exclusive (ask Steph). But here you two are, getting all emotional about it. Chill. Mid-range jumpers are a good thing to use, and Kawhi rocks them like nobody else right now. Can't we just... feel that?
@IG: confused_melo to see proof he is garbage #Ginga Just sayin, you seem worked up.
@IG: confused_melo to see proof he is garbage #Ginga Cool man, anyway, enjoy the season.
You mean ANALytic department?
But, I'm seeing the mid-range is making a comeback this season, alongside low post and iso style of play. I've seen a lot of these in several games as we speak. Even Curry training post up mid-range shoots a lot this season.
A lot of team tried to imitate the warriors but there's only a single pair of splash brothers . So they have to come back to what works for the journeyman
lalo reta it’s way easier for a journey man to make a career shooting like 38% from 3 by spotting up and running off screens than it is to make a career off moving contested 2s lol this isn’t even a new thing look at Steve Kerr, Kyle Korver, Steve Blake and now Joe Harris
fade away are gorgeous to watch
Yes I Love midrange shots
No one can imitate MJ, his walk, his jump, his dunks, his shot, and the most of all is his fade away. Michael Jordan is a walking poetry.
🤓
Kobe
Kobe
Kawhi Leonard has a lot of similarities with MJ. The scoring, the mid-range, the fadeaways, the exceptional defense, the leadership, the clutchness, the ability to step up in big moments/playoffs, even the one-handed fake. Kawhi does it as well at times. The difference between the two is that MJ was a better passer, more dominant player/athlete, faster, more aggresive and athletic and simply a better player overall from the eye test and the resume. Kawhi is the better shooter though, both from the 3PT line & the FT line.
Big📠
exactly. Kawhi lacks the ball handling.passing, and athleticism. This is why i still take kd over him

I went back and watch Jordan and Kobe and noticed their mid range game was 🔥🔥🔥. You mix having the ability to square up after faking a move to the left or right and fading on occasion makes it way more difficult to stop or shadow. That's why these guys are so successful. Taking higher percentage shots instead of inside instead of 3 pointers while having the ability to shoot 3's is deadly.
