      My general rule of thumb is not to do anything strenuous after a bodywork session. The idea is to let the work sink in and let the tissue remember how to be soft. Usually the next day is a safe bet. But there are always other factors at play. Good luck and thanks for watching!

    Regarding the client's fingers not curling as you strip the flexor--that happened this morning with a client. It's possible that she wasn't completely relaxed. Otherwise, what would cause the fingers not to respond? Thanks Allison.

    • @RebelMassage
      @RebelMassage  Před 7 lety +4

      Hi Ginnie! That's a good question. Yes it could mean that the client was not completely relaxed. Or it could mean that the pressure was not deep enough to exert a force on those tendons. Difficult to say without me being there. Don't be shy about using verbal cues to help your client relax. Sometimes we think we are letting go and that little extra push can be the icing on the cake.

    Hi. I am suffering from Golfer's Elbow and Bursitis in both Elbows. I was preparing for Men's Physique and suddenly one day while doing triceps I got severe pain on both elbow tips. Later on Golfer's elbow pain started as well. I am suffering from this pain from last 1 year. I got Depomedrol injections in both elbows but no sign of improvement. I got Acupuncture done and currently started with Ultrasound treatment. I still have pain in both elbows and its not going, but have reduced a bit. What do you suggest to be done to reduce the pain completely???

    How do you distinguish nerve radiating pain from muscle radiating pain?

    • @RebelMassage
      @RebelMassage  Před 5 lety +2

      It's tricky. Nerve referral usually feels electric or sharp and associated with NOT good feelings. Muscle pain referral can feel similar but can feel relieving when compressed. There is much more to it but that is an answer in brief.

  • @D44dj
    @D44dj Před 6 lety +2

    Would it be better to ice at the end of your treatment? Because aren't you causing an inflammatory reaction when massaging so thereby the icing you did at the beginning become ineffectual? Thanks!

    • @chenillelovgren1751
      @chenillelovgren1751 Před 6 lety

      I was wondering about this too. From my understanding, you want inflammation to speed healing.. Ice would constrict the muscles, I'd think you'd want them to be pliable before working them.

    • @chenillelovgren1751
      @chenillelovgren1751 Před 6 lety

      I personally never recommend icing for that reason, but this is likely a chronic injury so maybe inflammation rules change then.
