From Australia....I recall watching The Goodies throughout my childhood...so witty and funny. Thankyou Graeme, Bill and Tim for the many many laughs and great memories.... RIP Tim Brooke-Taylor.....
Still can't believe that Tim has passed away. Although I didn't know him, in a way it's like losing an old friend. I felt the same way about Terry Jones. Its amazing how over the years you feel you've got to know these people that you've never met so losing them becomes quite personal.
RIP Tim Brooke taylor... your death today made me cry... Not cos I know you..Not cos your an important in my life... but because you made me laugth as a kid... So many winderful happy memories. Mum and I used to watch together after school and I can still remember both of us not being able to stop laughing. The world needs more joy and more silliness ‘cos silliness is fun.
Just had a look on wiki and apparently from Day 1 they didn't sign a formal contract with the BBC and in 1980 the light-entertainment budget got blown by Hitch-Hikers Guide so they went over to ITV for a 1981 Christmas Special and a 6-episode series in 1982. Obviously didn't go down as well and they didn't re-appear anywhere after.
@@vinnysurfo I know what you mean. Just about a week ago, I watched an episode about pollution and the birds were falling dead from the skies. As the Goodies looked up, a sheep fell on them as if it had been flying over and suddenly dropped down dead. I laughed so hard I almost fell off my chair! Vale, Tim Brooke Taylor, RIP.
Sad news indeed, my condolences to Tim’s family and friends. RIP Tim-Brooke Taylor. They will always be my favourite comedy trio, Thanks for the memories guy’s.
Now watching as The Great Tim Brooke-Taylor has passed away from covid 19. A great interview- a pity they couldn’t have done it without the background noise, But great to have! Just my favourite show from that time - these guys were brilliant.
I'm glad I've only discovered this interview now, giving me a chance to see a bit more of the much-missed Tim Brooke-Taylor. It's been a week since he passed at the time of writing this, and I still can't believe he's gone.

Many older episodes were new to me entirely and I've had so many laughs I am watching the whole lot around again now. Thank you so much, Bill, Graeme and Tim, for being so inventive, brave, and funky (also loving the 'Cricklewood Tapes'). See you in Bristol!
TB-Taylor you ma dear man have been a star in my teens ..and a major part of my comedy adult life enjoying the wonderful SIHAC . Tim you'' will be sorely missed .. Bless you sir for all the laughs
Absolute Legends! It’s kind of like watching family members. Familiar faces. Friends. People you love. If you understand, you understand. So grateful to have their influence in my life. So many laughs that have remained with me since I was a kid. Thank you, Goodies. RIP Tim. ❤️
The Stones versus Beatles thing is an analogy, but for me the Monkees is more of a direct comparison. As a child I mistakenly thought that The Goodies were a musical group who got their own comedy adventure show and only realized later that they were comedians who could do music, so the Monkees reference resonates with me maybe more than it should. :)
Thank you gentlemen, for accompanying me through my childhood. Loved watching you then, still love watching you now. You made me laugh... You made the world laugh. That's a pretty special thing to have in the memory bank.
While Tim and Graeme are the dignified old blokes we would have expected them to become, Bill is still the scruffy ""cause orphan" wearing badges and bracelets for a squillion different activist causes. There's something rather sweet about that.
When I saw the news that Tim had passed away, from COVID-19 of all things, the emotional impact was like being punched (& not in a comical way). The Goodies was such a huge part of my childhood & teen years, the show being on almost constant repeat on TV here in Australia until possibly the early '90s. I also have always adored Tim's little scene in another amazingly surreal & sharply comic film favourite, Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory. To help process my profound sadness at the news of the loss of Tim, I pulled out my box set of The Goodies, which I still hadn't opened after ordering it online last year. I have cried this week because of Tim's passing, & have laughed this week because of the clever satire & silly antics of Tim & his cohorts. Thanks for the laughs, boys. Vale Tim, you will be greatly missed. xo
