There is something so hauntingly cool about fighting night demon for the first time. Everyone in the squad collectively goes fight or flight. Watching your teamate, who you have never met before get chased and obliterated. Realising you are the last one left and there's a minute on the timer.. And then the fear when he kneels and fully heals himself. 10/10 game.
( *Mildly detailed version of the original comment.* ) They try it for the first time and find it fun because of how reminiscent it is of DW and AA so they keep on trying. At a certain point, they either luck or skill all the way through wave 20 and then suddenly... boss music. DW and/or AA regulars would instantly feel the adrenaline kick in. There was a boss fight. Of course they'd know it'd be difficult, they should be familiar with DW Bosses or the Terror Anomalies. But for the AA players, it hits really fucking hard, it's obviously the same universe as Anomalous Activities. There's only one monster in that game that even actually looked like a "Proper Boss". Whatever AA player that even conjure the thought that this would be almost as "easy" as any AA Night Demon player would be immediately get killed for staying on the same ground level as the thing. They'd probably just assume it's gonna be the same slow ass bullet sponge that slams every now and then, not expecting that the boss has an AI controlling it and not a dumbass sack of flesh, meaning automatic on point targeting. The Decaying Winter players would probably have a somewhat better time though, they've only experienced somewhat fair human bosses assume they'll just fight a hyper human on par or probably better than the sledge queen (and maybe cower a little because they have no shoving and ability combo). Unlike the Anomalous Activity players, they won't die immediately because the moment they see the Night Demon or his health bar, they'll just run off to another room to at least collect their thoughts before dying to either the sudden dash or teleport + slam combo. And of course, the absolute dread that dawns on a person or group once they realize that the second phase gives them all their hp back and the realization that those 3-4 minutes were BOTH for Phase 1 and 2, all a newbie on the game could do is just sigh and laugh if they manage to only down him in the 30 second mark with only 1 player remaining in the end. Amazing Game, 11/10.

( I'm still new) I'm just now getting the hang of not dying every couple of seconds (bro I love the server I'm in rn 😭😭) Only took me 127 deaths before it happened lol. So far it's only been a few times I've lived all the way untill the ed. So now I just gotta perfect how to evade then shoot lol

yeah hitting the head and the eye on his chest it counts as a crit because those are both enemy weak points. multiple different anoms have this i believe because whenever you shoot a rust walker through the helmet without needing to pierce his armor it takes massive headshot damage

Reality severity is the round where it feels like impossible to win in the game like its inevitable you'll lose to to the night demon, god he's so much powerful in this game almost op, everyone shits their pants when its phase 2
Ive been thinking about a move this boss could use too make the second phase harder seeing as the main reason nd fails is if you got a full squad and shred em in 30 seconds so what about a move thatseparate everyone around the map and targets one person until others shoot em this would make it easier for nd to pick of mercs one by one
