Also, I noticed they are using Turborepo to manage those apps and packages. I was a little confused because most NextJs apps don't have that structure and the crazy configurations.

Hey Harkirat, thanks for the awesome description but how did u fig out which startup have open sourced their project and they have got good funding and also the tech stack they r using. Because we can target those orgs where our skill sets are more aligned.

Thank you Kirat bhaiya for the video... loved this one, will be glad to know if you share how we can search this type of companies for contribution
Its sad that I found this amazing content but I dont have much time to follow it. Wish I could be school student haha or this content was available 5 years ago.
Hey thank you for the clean and clear guide video, it helped me to understand how to start contributing to an open source project. I have a doubt which goes like After you forked a repo, when you will raise a pr in your repo will it get reflected in the repo from where you have forked?
this is what i've been waiting for
This will be definitely helps us sir ❤
Informative
On point👏
Hi thankyou for the video! It would be great of you could also tell us a bit about how do you go about finding such companies? The videos you'll make for specific companies can be a great place to learn but if you share how to approach the company search, it would be really insightful.
Thanks again!
+1
Thank you so much
I'm so excited
@harkirat1 can you please make a video on how to find such open source organisations ?
Thanks for this great video!!!
Well instructed🎉
Hi Harkirat, I understand that you are making this people who are freshers and doesn't have much exp in development. But these are the kind of issues I can fix on my own as they are quire straightforward. The problem what I am facing and struggling with is shipping and contributing new features to these open source projects. Can you create a video where you are contributing a whole new feature which is not very straightforward and how do you go about it and stuff like that. Thanks!
I'm pretty sure making contributions like major features or some big change would require you to be involved with the core team members and actively discuss roadmaps with tradeoffs in features and design etc. For e.g. a nodejs member who started solving bunch of issues (around 10-12 ) around December of last year, got involved with the team pretty gradually and grew to bigger and bigger changes.
Personally I'm trying to mimick the GSoC projects that the orgs put out and trying to understand the ramping up and development on a new codebase/stack. I believe the ease of major contributions also depend upon the quality of codebase. I've seen big codebases which are extremely hard to work with and the context is not in documentation but with the core devs.
Finding a growth project is much more important than randomly solving small issues IMHO. I personally have a hard time finding growth projects. I try looking into niches like dev tooling, APM tools, etc but no luck. The funny part is when I find a project that my laptop can't even run lol.
but where there is will there's a way I think we need to keep iterating and keep exploring to find projects we love. I know a student who got into a major web3 org as a security researcher after he dangled with the EVM and auditing contracts and codebases for around just under a year! that's fucking sick!
those were my two cents best of luck on your open source journey :)
Can you provide information on how to search for businesses with a valuation between 1-5 million and whether their code base is open source?
Can you also make a video for how you go about researching to find companies like these for possible internship, contribution, or full time job
