Love your honesty - no cut and shut filming to show you are perfect. You are a terrific player but give us humble players optimism and possibility. Keep it up.
Thanks Daniel 🙂
¹são muito bons mesmo estou a plendedo
That was very informative. I like the way you explain the shots & hopefully I can put some of your advice into action , once the club opens again. Thanks. 👍👍
Top work mate. Really inspiring stuff. The club is open again and yesterday I felt like I'm picking up the threads of where I was before the lockdown and getting my eye in.
You played all shots nice and decisively apart from the last one, your timing was faster and it seemed like you were going to miss.
Isn't it funny in snooker that you just know sometimes when the guy you're playing against is going to pot it, even before he/she goes down for the shot? I find it fascinating, it's an incredibly humbling and revealing game.
This gonna surely improve my game thanks Steve . By the way I just want to ask you about my feathers that is when I do my feathers I do on the right hand side of the cue ball while playing any shots whether it is stun or screw or side and that is quite making my game miserable on each and every shots . Because of that I just can't play the shot which I want to play just like I want to play left hand side but it behaves like right hand side.
Can you please help me solving my this problem I would've been thankful to you .
Nice video I do have a question more about the table what are the white dots I sometimes see on the rails? Been looking but can't find an answer
Great Barton! Learn a lot from your video.
As ever a great learning video ,youve a lovely little set up there Steve ,3 nice tables
Hi Steve another amazing video this is! I have a question regarding my follow through: my follow through is always around 5 inches after I hit cue ball. Then my hand hits my chest and I can't make it longer then that even on power shots. Do you think this is too short because it seems very short to me? Any tips on improving the follow through?
5 inches of follow through is absolutely fine. Very rare you'll need any more than that. Snooker is all about playing the shots we should get really well. A super power shot as a recovery as a one off every 15 frames doesn't make a good player.
5 inches of follow through is great. You're on the right track 🙂
another great video, nice to see your view on the shots!
Thanks Steve, another inspirational video. Again you made it look easy, so close to the 147! Guessing the commentary probably affected the concentration...😊
He obviously comment when editing video, not while playing!
Great vid mate! Can you tell me your headcam setup!? I thought about doing some headcam vids sometime in the future but not quite sure about the headband and camera.
It's a GoPro Hero 8 Black. I bought the model with the accessory pack. Expensive camera but very good quality and features.
Great channel. Love your vids. Used to play lots of snooker
Hi Steve. Your videos help me improve quite a lot, and really inspire me to play snooker. my backswing seems to be cant improve, I've been trying to play longer backswing, but always end up playing short backwing. Is it possible for you to make a video specifically on how to make backwing longer?
I have made 4 maximum breaks. Unfortunately they are all on the Pro Snooker 2020 computer game. Oh well...
Lmao😂
Brilliant! I have a question though - that last red you missed, I often see that shot attempted as you did (with lots of left side to check it back) but I often I wonder if you couldn't use bottom right and take it round the table to get back on the black that way. Would that not be possible? Even if the red had gone in it didn't look like you had much of a shot left on the black anyway?
I just slightly under hit it. That's why I missed the red, and also why the white didn't come far enough over. You could also go around the table yes, that's certainly an option. It's just negotiating the baulk colours and getting the pace right.
If I used bottom right I'd have to try and go off the side cushion, in between the brown and green, the back around the table. Not a bad shout to be honest. I guess both are tricky.
Hi sir i loved all ur videos and they help me play better snooker as a beginner. May i know how can i keep a straight cueing elbow while i was feathering? My elbow tends to go offline as soon as i start my feathering but somehow i can still deliver my cue in a straight line..i have seen pro players feathering with straight elbow and i wish i could do that too. Looking forward to hear from ur professional advices. Thank you so much 🙏 and lots of love from HONGKONG 💓
very helpful video, thanks!
I strongly recommend you to use both headcam and tv vision camera. so that the headcam picture will show the potting angle and cue ball hit point, meanwhile the tv vision camera will show us what actually happened on the table.
when you decide to make another headcam video, please consider my advise. thank you.
Hi Steve, Lovely break. I see that this video is a few years old now, but could you give me a idea of the headcam your using these days. Looking for one but don’t have a clue about cameras 📸
great vid. keep them coming.. curious your cam setup when showing whole table. is that the mount on the pipe above the table? I need to set up a system for my practice review
It sure is. Just so happens it's in the ideal position for filming the table. Thanks a lot for watching 🙂
@@BartonSnooker is cam self contained/wireless? love the tips! as my cueing has gotten better I am surprised how little of an angle you need to get the cue ball to go where you want it to :)
Excellent. Very helpful. Thanks👍
Thanks for making all these great videos! You talk about Natural Angle a lot. It would be great if you can make a video about it! :)
Great attempt 👏👏👏👏 love the channel mate stay safe
This was an outstanding attempt with simplicity on every shot, keep bringing more videos of your break attempts. Btw I wanted to know about your cue's tip size?
My tip is 9.7mm
Fab vid Steve, maybe the best yet. Really interesting for the intermediate player. And I LOVED how you weren't afraid to show a 'failed' attempt - it's real, and I really appreciate that. I notice you talk about 'being confident', do you believe that playing a shot confidently even when you don't feel confident, can make a shot more successful... almost like you are tricking your brain?? [Also one small point, might it be possible to angle the head-cam down a couple of degrees, as the table was disappearing off the bottom of the screen sometimes?]
Unfortunate but you seemed to be cueing incredibly and with maximum authority, well done mate
Nice shot into the middle left with the red to keep the break going
Brilliant, thanks for sharing 👍
Could you create video with detail explanation when to use side spin (english)? Regards.
When are we going to see you on the TV in tournaments? 🤔😏 Keep the videos coming though. I've learned quite a lot, through watching your videos.
Hi Steve, I was watching your 147 head am attempt and noticed on your 3rd black shot where you played for the red on the left you played with a bit of left hand side although you weren’t playing to hit the cushion. Was this deliberate? Or you weren’t aware . It seemed looking where your cue tip was pointing you were to the left slightly
Yes, deliberate. "Helping side". I do it on pretty much every shot in that video 👍
Great question. I was wondering this also vs playing dead centre. Is it that you sometimes miss to the near jaw so a bit of helping side pushes the black more into the centre of the pocket?
Thankx for head cam. More head cams plz
Head cam. I love it. But I cann't pot the OB without aiming from its back. How to practise like you sir
Love this!
Sorry i have a question. When we practice long practice like line up and t practice when we miss shot but my position is ok we should go from first and begin again or ve forget about pot and continue. Or if we pot and lost position go from begin or go for recovery shot?
Hi. You can set yourself all kinds of different goals.
If you miss a pot but have good position, then pull the ball down and continue from where you are as if you had made the pot.
Continue with the entire exercise and then count how many missed balls you had. If you start with 10 missed pots, try to beat that with only 9, then only 8 etc. Eventually you will clear without missing.
Good question and good luck 🙂
BartonSnooker thanx. Your a great coach. Tanx about your best videos.
I saw one of your videos used for an ad on Facebook. Just wanted to let you know, in case you didn't approve it. The same happened with one of my videos a couple of days ago. I'll send you the link if you want to.
any advice if you wear glasses, cant get right down on the cue
Your setup n way of teaching is unique and far better than other coaches #Master❤have a great cue ball control did u play at professional
level?
Great break!
Hi Steve, a quick question for you. I don't know if it's the camera angle or not. However, it looks like that you are sometimes hitting the cue ball slightly left of center?
Hi. Yes I am when potting to my right. When potting to my left I use right hand side. It's called "helping side". Lots of players do it, including many professionals: Ronnie, Murphy, Mark Williams for example.
@@BartonSnooker - Hi Steve, thank you for your quick response. Please could elaborate on the use of "helping side"? For example, how does it actually help a player? And what is the theory behind it? Thanks in advance.
Hey Steve , my question to you is : is it possible to play a shot to nothing on every shot ? ( specially at breakbuilding )
Hi! Unfortunately not!
great video ,through viewing them and puttin everything into my game ,i can see the improvement, breaks are becoming better ,but need more accurate positional play, but as for club playing i,d be confident to hold my own ,keep it up great work mate x love to view them regards Dave long
Thanks a lot David 🙂
Thanks.. Great way to explain.. Very helpful.
Keep posting.
Warm rewards
The UnknownManCub👍 😎
Thanks from Israel - coach!!
My 147 attempts could fit on a tik-tok video
Great video.
I never use to play with side because I always thought it made shots so much harder. I use it often now though. I still try to keep it as simple as possible but since I started using side a lot more I'm a much better player now I've got use to using it. Good effort there mate unlucky
if you made the spot point at all ball when spot , it is very helpful for everyone .
Brilliant how can I get in touch for coaching??
Hi. All my details are in the video description
Very helpfulness
Hi steve . Whats your cue tip size in this video ?
9.7mm
I am also playing with 9.7mm right now. But sometimes I feel its thin. I am thinking to go bit up to 10 mm. Do you think its a good idea ?
I made today my highest break! 😀 Break of 72. I am making progress all the time, and my goal is to make a century break before February 2021. Your videos help me alot. I have Peradon Crown Cue (170-190€). Do i have to buy a More expensive cue like John Parris Ambassador or Peradon Pro-Cue? I'm pretty happy with the Crown Cue anyways. Cheers
Wow Matti, that's awesome!! 🙂🙂 Great feeling isn't it getting your highest break.
No need to change your cue. They are good cues. The cue won't improve your game, it's the player holding the cue. Just keep doing the right things, keep believing in yourself because you are obviously on the right path, and you will keep on improving.
Well done Matti!
How much distance do you need from every cushion ( as in you room / hall ) ?
About 5 foot minimum
@bartonsnooker thanks for your answer and are 13 foot too much and how much do you personally have ?
BartonSnooker thanks for your answer ,how much space do you personally use and what what you recommend me ( want to make my own Snooker room ) and where do you play , in a kind of garage etc..?
@@leon4171 just over 5 foot on the width. Length ways it's more like 7 foot each side.
BartonSnooker but how much do you use in your room and what is your room kind like : garage ......?
Hello, what age ranges do you provide training to? I visited your website, I'm only 30 mins away from your centre, I'm curious about getting coaching. Thank you!
Any ages. How old are you Joash?
@@BartonSnooker I am 15.
@@joashjohnson5077 yes so that would be no problem. You would need come with an adult if you came for a lesson as it's part of the safeguarding rules. Other than that, yes, it would be great to help you out.
@@BartonSnooker Thank you so much!
That was great
How we break hai ALL SNOOKER AND MOVE THE WHITE BALL ALL SIDE
Highest break in tournament or match ?
140 total clearance
Thanks for the video, but seems like the headcam is not aligned perfectly it looks as if you're putting left hand side on every shot
Hey Barton Snooker , could you please make a Video where you explain how do keep the concentration and mental things at all which are important ,because I think that’s the problem for many players and the key to a good game , also I thought you could do that very well cause your videos are helpfully very often , thanks Leon
Can you make another 147 attempt? 🙂 That was close!
How we break a snooker and double shot trick
Where are your lessons held bud? Can’t wait to see this!!
I am based in the West Midlands. Postcode for the club is: WS3 3HS
The video is another POV video with a talk through of what players think when building these breaks 🙂
BartonSnooker about a 4 hour drive for me but definitely in the near future you’re such a cool guy! Good luck for for the 147 my friend we all know you have the ability 😁
@@ryanguppy7785 would be great to see you Ryan. Unfortunately I didn't manage the 147 here, but it's a cool video for showing working around the black and how to break-build. I hope you enjoy it 🙂
BartonSnooker I will do and I’m sure you’ll get it soon we’re all just waiting for it 😁take care bud
Yes I also
Very good
awesome
vey vey nice and good thanks ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You’re a classy player. The only other bit of advice is to wherever possible, play for a choice of reds. Great clip.
You make it look very easy...mere mortals like us have no chance lol
Is it due to the headcam position that it looks like you're playing with a touch of left hand side every shot?
same question for me
If you slow the video down to 0.25x you can see that Steve does his feathers a fraction to the left of center, and still delivers the cue straight through to the center of the white. He also uses the "helping side" on angled shots; left-hand-side on pots to the right and left-hand-side on pots to the left.
I really enjoying.....
Thanks master if possible show dot on the cue ball in the screen
All my latest videos have this 👍
you make it look sooooooooooooo easy
When do you make your Crucible debut mate lol.
Hi sir this is a great vedio,,,,, sir you improv my game thnk u so mu h sir
Pockets look massive
good luck
Well done video. Usually head cam videos are hard to watch. Very jerky and flipping around. You did a great job of limiting movement. Keep on cueing.
Thank you 🙂
We need more headcam videos 😊😊😊
Love you so much today I make 51 breaks 😊😊😊
My 1st highest break is 32 after long time my highest break is 51 half century
I am very happy today and little improv my game also 😀😀😀
that was good
Hard Luck, but Above All, A Great Attempt. I think on that missed red with that amount of side played always runs the risk in not being potted because of the initial deviation of the Cue Ball that determines the outcome of the shot.
This is a Hard 'Exercise' and it just goes to prove and show when Professional out there exercise this, there has to be an element of planning involved in Shot Selection and making Judgements.
🤙
Great video Steve unlucky
Made video on Ronnie reverse v line up please
U often tend to play the cue ball with trace of opposite side to the pocket
U may say the running side
That's right 😊
You play just like O sullivan❤
Enter the world championship and qualify.. Brilliant break and everything could you do it in the world championship...
Good Morning. I would love to understand what you are saying. there are many Brazilians who watch your videos. it would be like you to put subtitles in Portuguese. muiyl thank you
I nearly had a 147 yesterday. But i missed the first red.
Nice and easy: very much along the style of Marky williams.
Never seen a pro put that much side on and not allow for the red to straighten...
awesome, you just pot balls so easy that you can focus on cue position. that really needs some attention with my play, just missing pots way to much..
Nice attempted
it fucking look very easy ,but to do is tough
There is no end to this man's talent, Ronnie himself wouldn't have done better, great video mate.
Yes he would have. He would have done that maxi in 5:20 lol
I am thinking there is a good lesson in your last shot - instead of taking what the table gives a player often times get stubborn and try to force a ball unnecessarily. This usually leads to a missed shot. Even if they do make that forced shot there is no guarantee they will get good position for the next one. But they miss more often than they make a "forced" play. In a real match a player should take the easier shot and continue running. Won't get to 140 that way but he will certainly improve his chance to win the game. Sure won't win sitting.
He was well over the winning line at the point he missed. So in this case going for the 147 was the right choice.
Table time,is the key....Soul destroying as it can be.
Put in the hours,Then you can see,
You'll be a consistent player,like I will never be?
What is your highest break..?
A 147 ever
140 total clearance
I am sure you will make a 147 soon
