Awesome book that gives you step-by-step photos czcams.com/users/postUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt and directions to make every day project. I can see myself making a few of these projects and giving them as housewarming and holiday gifts!
Why are you always building bourbon cabinets; but, you never build moth cabinets? I’m here ever Saturday. 😊
The doors look great, but I would have used orange resin to fill the spaces between, much simpler and quicker, the resin would hold the pieces in place so no need to glue each insert.
Also interior lights would show through the resin.
It was a pleasure actually getting to meet you the other day!
I've never even heard of you. CZcams recommended this channel. I'm like 5 or 6 videos deep and I'm hooked. Lol. You're humor and skills are impressive.
Don’t remember this for the rest of your life or anything.. but
Reminds me of A&W
I use a stick of glue to stick graph paper to my wood when doing layouts. The paper comes off pretty easy and sands off anything left behind really easy. Might save somebody from drawing or messing up so much linework on their wood.
Great idea!
I was thinking you could print out lines on a sheet of paper and stick it on.... I forgot graph paper existed for a minute lol
Brilliant 👏
@@devinmoodley4061 I had the same idea! I also didn’t think of graph paper 😂
I really likethe way you show your mistake and finally your solution to it. Thank you for that
Pro tip - when you need to route 4 sides of a blank you can start an inch or two from the end and stop an inch or two from the other end. This will give you a stable base to keep everything at 90 degrees.
That’s a great tip! also nearly impossible to do with the feather boards.
@@IndianaJBird it would still work great, because the feather board would be pushing on the flats.
Buddy those doors are a work of art...
Man oh man, what a piece of craftsmanship this is, great, this is beautiful
I live in the Netherlands
Now that you've got tangerine backers on those I suppose it would be too late to recommend lights on the inside of the cabinet. I think it would've looked pretty cool and would showcase that lattice nicely.
I thought the same thing
Me too! Led inside would have looked the best
Ditto…. Some LED strips to backlight the cabinet
Came here for this. This and the treehouse have me scratching my head for what is going through his head these days.
Lights need a power source which means limited places to move it or remembering to change batteries. If he's like me he'd forget or just doesn't want a power cord
This feels like a David Picciuto esque design. Great Job!
Another bomb ass project from our fave snark. See ya next week for the cabinet build! 👋👍👊
Jason is the only person who I will go back and like the video for if I forgot.
Just love how you drilled all them holes.
The doors are beautiful. I keep my bottles of whiskeys, etc. out in plain sight because they're beautiful to look at. Same with my guitars, cars, tools, cooking utensils...out of sight, out of mind. I like to keep it all in mind. My first car was a 1954 Cadillac convertible...I didn't put it into a garage. I put it where I could see every time I walked into the living room. But, I'm beginning a special cabinet for my wife in the kitchen for small appliances and I'm going to do doors similar to these. I love them.
Fantastic doors for a cabinet that belongs in Tennessee! (Vols colors!)
Hey Jason, love the project I've seen a few people mentioning adding lights to the inside of the cabinet instead of the orange accent piece which would look fantastic. I also noticed your reference to the panels looking like stained glass. How would you feel about translucent orange resin in place of the orange accents and then also adding recessed defused lighting in the cabinet that would give that a nice shimmer similar to stained glass? just a thought! looking forward to seeing the cabinet when its completed!
He should of done it purple
Whiskey and Enya? Yes please!!
Orange and brown - the 70s are back! 😄
Don’t take this wrong ……..I love your wood churro Keep it up. Awesome doors
To save a lot of time in your finishing process, you could have Rubioed the stars' sides before cutting them off... Mask the glue edge and finish the cove. Really love the look of your doors. A bit of '70s flair to it, especially with the orange.
I'm glad you used the Tennessee orange on the back 🤣🤣
OUTSTANDING.......AS USUAL!
Almost looks like a Harley Davidson orange. Cool effect
to save a lot of time gluing stars, instead of a paint brush, use a small sponge! love the pattern!
LOL Walnut Churro! Loved that one!
A 1/2 hole in the center of each star would look great!
Nice to see you back. thought you gave up on youtube since you started that show. Hope all is going well.
Awesome man! I immediately thought of the Mac Pro “cheese grater” front when I saw that first version.
For some tips: use stop blocks on your table saw and your drill press. You get much more consistent results with way less trouble. You can also use blue tape on both panels and glue them up with super glue. The adhesion is enough, but it doesn't rip off your wood grain. Doesn't happen always, but its really annoying, if it does. Have fun!
Padauk panels for the back would’ve looked great.
Nice job.Respect for working with hands not cnc.Good luck to you sir.
Love the orange. Awesome build...
This is why you need a friend with a laser cnc table... Man that look great, though! Can't wait to see the complete cabinet!
The pattern just reminds me of the Team Fortress 2 logo. I love it.
Very very cool! I would have liked to see padauk instead of the painted orange, but they turned out phenomenal!
They look great. I'll keep my suggestions on how to speed this up to myself though
Bessey makes a sweet strap clamp with a little roller dingle dangle.
But yes to loving strap clamps.
Great looking doors waiting to see the cabinet. Your builds and humor are what makes me keep coming back for more. Don`t ever change.
lol....My hands holding tools. You always make me laugh. Thanks for the great videos!
I love the doors and look forward to seeing the cabinet.
That spring punch ol’ J-Katz showed you would have come in handy marking those holes.
Wow, really cool look to your doors! As an amateur woodworker, I am impressed by how you envision something and then creat it. Your workshop is awesome and I am envious of all your tools. Keep up the great content in your videos and I look forward to seeing the whiskey cabinet come together. What is your favorite bourbon? I will have a drink with you when I watch your cabinet video.
Superb acting. I really *felt* like you were whiskey. I was like, "I know that's an actor, but... is it?"
I think you all need to make these with lights and upload a video 😁
Finally… “bourbon” moth does something bourbon related! 🥃👊🏼
This looks so good, and is really pleasing. When I first saw the opening few minutes, I thought: "Reverse the woods! White-oak inserts into the darker latticework."
Terrific idea & fantastic work on those doors Jason! Looking forward to the rest of the cabinet build! 👍👍🍺🍺🍻🍻👍👍
I wouldn't ever consider suggesting anything to this "geniusness". Just amazing.
Tom Byrne
Pure 70s gold
Super Sweet! Absolutely magnificent design and 70's smoker lounger whiskey bar mid century modern man cave color choice too. Love the extruded sausage slice approach to the build. Game changer.
MORE ORANGE! Another beautiful creation, Jason. Keep on keepin' on.
You could also consider doing a half lap joint on all the walnut and oak pattern pieces where the points of the star overlap. That way it's just two pieces to glue together rather than a bunch of individual stars and it might be a little stronger. Looks fantastic though!
Great job. Love the choice to use orange.
Love your videos. Cheers.
Nice idea. Great choice on the orange
Awesome project. That was a cool resolution on your stars
I see this guy pop out from behind in the first 7 seconds, I know his personality is great. I hit that sub button Lol.
Sorry I simped
This was tough to watch cause... "Thou shalt not covert thy neighbors wood clamps... Thus endth the lesson..."
Seriously nice... Thanks for sharing...
I love repeating geometric patterns and have been intrigued by this idea for a while. Glad you showed what did and didn't work here, it will be very useful for when I eventually get around to trying it. I think the orange color gives it kind of a 70's vibe. I don't hate it. Thanks for sharing!
from the CLE...here we go brownies, here. we go!! Looking forward to the cabinet and the whiskey drinking!
I like that you changed to a diagonal/diamond layout. Looks so much better. For the sample piece I thought that would make a great little tick-tack-toe game.
Ugh, finally. Wasn't sure how much longer I was able to go without a video from you
Wow they turned out amazing very cool idea
I love that orange, as a teenager I painted my whole room the same colour.
Really love the orange with the walnut!! Those doors are sick!!!
Those doors are so frikkin awesome! I can't wait to see the complete build! I'm sure it was tedious and time consuming on your end but on my end, it was so satisfying to watch.
Those came out great. If imitation is the highest form of flattery, I'll be flattering you later this year.
Try 50% Mudlight and 50% Pure on white oak. Its my current favorite.
Very old school classic design. Love to color contrast with it. Nice work as always
Oh wow, that was just so awesome. I usually get antsy watching CZcams and change channels, but I watched it to the end. Loved it, and I was excited along with you. Beautiful !!
As i saw the box build first... have you considered putting int he acrylic mirrors behind the "star pattern" that would probably also look spiffy...
Also the front would be an awesome use of Kumiko... or if you didn't have the routerbit, just make your stock kite shaped on the table saw and form little five tipped stars to set in the holes.
Jason wow they look bloody awesome mate, well done
The doors look great I can't wait for next week to see the rest of the cabinet.
Welcome!!! looks like one of those projects to me.. never again..!!! good job my friend!!! Regards
Those doors are really cool.
Yet another great video! I started watching you because of your humor and enjoyment. It's fun to watch you. And of course I learn new ways of doing things and get some great ideas.
I'll trade ya my shop for yours🙃.
I think you should call it “The Shining Whiskey Cabinet” . Those doors look like the carpet in the movie with that orange backing.
I Loved the Effect of you being Whiskey and staying true to the effect was your Breath smelled like Whiskey also, Well Done. I Really Believed You WERE Whiskey.
That router operation albeit super cool and you obviously had everything covered. Safety wise you might have been a little easier with a large juice grooving bit. You know the one that looks like the head of your expletive
I get that same happiness when a crazy idea comes together. The pivoting from one idea to another to problem solve is fun. Thanks for showing the "mistakes" that caused change.
First video of yours I've seen. You're hilarious! The cut away with the chips falling at your feet, I did the same thing in a film I made in art school 30 years ago.
Thanks for the reply
Congrats you've won contact me right away I have something for you

@@BlackForestWoodCo. No thanks, I'm not up for being scammed today.
Those are some bad-ass doors, looking forward to seeing the finished cabinet. Thanks for sharing!
"Pretty dang spiffy" - Sail life approves!
Ok, I’m stoked to see this cabinet build! Looking forward to it.
Doors are mighty purty. Can't wait to see the rest of the cabinet. And what you choose to put inside. 🥃
Good to see your work again. Hope you got the tree house and home addition dried in before the storms rolled through and all is well.
i think the best take away for the rest of us is that if we were to do the same thing, we know now the best way to do it and even then what hte challenges are
Looks great! Orange splines and highlights on the cabinet would look flash
Those look great and I like the orange
Great project, thanks for sharing. Can you tell us how long it took in total? In general, i would find it very educational to know how much time a pro like you spend on a build!
Thanks in advance
I absolutely *LOVE* the orange! It seriously elevates it so much, fantastic work.
Once again you have done an amazing piece of work! Can’t wait to see the cabinet build!
picking up strong "70's shower curtain" vibes.
Super Swanky Whisky Cabinet... Leave out the orange piece and have LED lighting inside the cabinet. The warm glow of the light bouncing off all of the displayed beverages would be visible when the cabinet is shut. Also providing a nice accent light wherever said cabinet would be located. Have the LEDs on the shelving so that even when the doors are open the light is hidden and continues to illuminate your wonderful collection. I could whip together a test with sticky tape if interested. Even a trigger switch on the doors so the brightness of the LED's changes when the doors are open and closed. A warm tone, say 2700k would do perfect. Now that would say,
"Swanky"
I saw one japanese woodworker making a jig to make everyone of them even..but I forgot his name LOL…but his creation always the epitome of perfectness
Masterful work on those doors. You are on a short list of craftsmen doing g inspiring work. Always great content!
I am taking credit for your walnut churros... it's what I told you you should have done on your last cutting board video...
Clever fix and a great result. It's a beauty.
This gives me an idea for an accent wall. Very cool!
