Absolutely! It’s design and the V8 power I can’t Ignore it! It doesn’t even look from the exterior that it’s a 15 year old car! If I’m wealthy enough I want this beauty
The lines were perfection whichever way you looked at it. They flowed in a way that few cars have. And yes, I stupidly sold mine for a DB9 Volant. Big mistake!
I have been lucky to have driven a couple of Aston Martin's ( Not Mine), Vantage and DB9. Performance was incredible although the V8 was a bit muted compared to the V12 they were both gorgeous machines, always turned heads when driving both those cars.
Agree I had a 2009 DB9 I loved it, my friend had a vantage, the difference is noticeable, the V12 is just incredible sounding. I have a 2019 Jaguar F-Type r dynamic, and I liked it a lot more than my Aston. Your right Aston’s always turn heads I get a lot less comments on my Jag for sure.
Schift schakeling .
I am on to my 3rd in a row, my first was a 2006 V8 Manual then a 2015 V12S and now a 2014 V8s. They are an awesome experience and sound amazing in V8 and V12 form. They are a bespoke muscle car sporty GT, not a competitor to a 911 or exotics from Italy. And for those who say they are not fast enough in a straight line, I say get an Audi quattro or Tesla if speed 0-100 is what you want. They are reliable and for those who make comments about them being a parts bin, really don't understand the advantage that is when you need to replace a gas strut in a bonnet or boot, it keeps cost down. The exclusive bits are more pricey. While the V12S was the quickest in a straight line 0-100 in 3.9 and top speed of 330kmh (faster than a Huracan/R8 etc) the V8S is in my opinion the sweet spot, with the lighter mid front mount V8 and 430hp. While it is 4.5 to 100 and 310kmh top speed it handles better than the V12 with the heavier motor up front. These are lovely to look at and are experience cars with their noise, you also get a lot of thumbs up in admiration that you don't always get when driving a Ferrari. The chassis balance and steering are great but they are not supercars and should never be bought assuming they are.
I looked at a V8 Vantage. But unfortunately it was my second choice to an RS7. After watching this, and your comment, I might just have both... if I can get it over the line with the wife.
@@tepidtuna7450 I had considered an RS7 after selling my V12S, the downside for me is that I live inner city in Sydney Australia in an area with 200 year old convict roads that are very narrow, nor do we have big open motorways let alone autobahns where the RS7 it is at its best. Surprisingly for many Vantage owners of the VH era cars the compact dimensions are a big selling point. It has a footprint the size of a Cayman, the DB9, DB11 Rapide and new Vantage are all much larger. Comes down to what works for where you live. They are fun cars that get lots of attention, but dont expect to take down an APR tuned Audi in any form....
Agree. It doesn't have the best handling, not the best acceleration, not the most comfortable suspension setting, not the most user-friendly transmission, but it definitely is something mesmerizing.
I realize I'm 2 years late but... I've seen a lot of people say the Sportshift (the robotized manual) is bad but I've driven both it and the manual and currently own a Sportshift 1 roadster 2008 (4.3, not 4.7 - also by choice) and the gearbox is really rather good. When cold or if you haven't let it do any calibration for the clutch in a while (takes 30 seconds on a cold start) it can be jerky and have harsh gear-changes but if it's warmed up and you drive it like you should it's a wonderful gearbox. And since it's not sequential you can also skip gears with the paddles just as you could with a manual. Once one learns to drive it properly and not expect it to work like a torque-converting automatic it's a wonderful gearbox which is really rather reliable. I picked the 4.3 V8 over the 4.7 because I wanted the older interior center-stack which I think looks more classy and timeless, I also think the 4.3 sounds a bit better, and finally because the lines look nicer since it doesn't have the newer cars updated side-skirts, which I don't personally like. Power-wise it's so close it doesn't really matter to me and with the money I saved by not buying a newer 4.7 I could go to Bamford Rose in the UK and do the upgrades necessary to bring it in-line with a 4.7 if I cared enough, but this car is not about numbers anyway. The only thing from the newer cars that I would really appreciate is the updated suspension - the shocks from Bilstein which are really rather great, but the older dampers that I have on mine is by no means bad and quite good enough. The roadster, finally, I picked because it's more comfortable with the top up (it's a fair bit quieter) and you hear more of the engine (and everything else of course) with the top down. A fair bit less space for luggage I admit and the lines aren't quite as clean as the coupé but it's still a marvelous thing of beauty that I fall in love with again every time I open the garage door.
If you know how to use it properly, the Sportshift gearbox is actually very good. Too many reviewers just repeat what other youtubers say... get out there and try it before writing it off. Apart from that, a pretty decent review.
Keep in mind this gen V8 Vantage are about 5-8k euro more expensive then an Mercedes-Benz SL500, similar millage and conditions. But it's well worth the extra money!
I had one and used to drive from Norwich England, down through France to Fortuna in Spain, about 60 km south of Alicante. It was a superb GT, which got so much attention when I stopped for fuel. It was always, 'Ah my dream car. If I win the lottery, I will get one' Even the police stopped me for speeding. Not bothered about the speed, but wanted to look at the car It was never meant as competition for the 911, they were made with totally different purpose in mind.
