- Based on the famous Pixar movie, Toy Story 2 puts an interesting spin on the 3D platformer genre on the N64.

Seeing Buzz's reflection in the glass is actually a VERY nice detail, because the same thing happens in the movies when things are shown from his point of view.
Well sure, but from a gameplay perspective it seems like a pretty ill advised decision.
That’s really cool actually
I like it.
Fact that in Final Fantasy Remake there are NO working mirriors.
Its like a lost talent
RTX on
@@CTOOFBOOGLE Not really, it's not like it actually affects your visibility too much. The same thing kinda happens in Metroid Prime games. A neat detail, but it doesn't affect much overall.
That 5-hour puzzle joke make me laugh when it showed a "6" in the timer hour spot😆
lol I didn’t notice that one
I got confused at first cause I was like “wait that puzzle looked easy”. It fooled me for a second 😅
I'm assuming he meant 5 minutes but said 5 hours and the editor made a joke out of it? Either way that's funny lol.
I noticed that too haha
Solid work by the editor
This is actually one of my all time favorite platforming games. It might be nostalgia kicking in.
It's a genuinely fun and well made/designed game overall, probably one of the best 3D platformers Ive played especially for a movie franchise game
@@benamisai-kham5892 downloaded an emulator and this was one of the games that came to mind that I wanted to play. It does indeed hold up well and I found myself wanting to collect every token.
i still replay this once in a while...its really fun
I didn’t have a memory pack, had to leave my Nintendo on for a few days to beat this game. Totally worth it
HAHAHAHA you too?!
Lmao same
Yup same
@Ned Flanders 19 watts over 3 days is about 1.37 kwh. At approx $0.16 per kwh, that's about $0.22. I think mom would not be too mad, considering the game was probably around $50 at the time. Would be a shame to spend $50 on something then make it worthless by not spending the $0.22 it would cost to play and beat it lol.
This was one of my absolute favorite games on the 64, I have the most fondest memories of both getting this game from target with my uncle who came to visit from Mexico. We went one morning before I had to go to school, he said I could have any game under $40 and I chose this one. The game was fun for what it was.
Glad they had it on sale, easily could have ended up with a crap game instead. 64 titles were pricey
lmao that puzzle sure seems like a tough one. (totally got me for a second with the game timer haha)
I didn't even notice that, I just thought Thab was being a spastic 😂 good catch
I shamefully fell for it I was cocky and all like what a noob... 🤦 On me
I love the dry presentation of that puzzle joke :D
3:45 The voice of woody in pretty much all games or merchandise for toy story is actually done by Tom Hanks brother.
Great video and brought back memories of me playing this too!
This game was the first game I ever owned. During either my birthday or Christmas I was given a Nintendo 64 alongside this game. I still have it and I actually played and beat the game just within the last five years.
I remember the paint mixing puzzle in the construction level helped teach me color mixing.
Several notes:
-The reason it follows the movie plot so well is because in the other versions it literally played scenes from the movie before levels.
-The music isn't as good on the Nintendo 64. While still the same catchy tunes, they are lower quality due to the cartridge format as opposed to the discs of the Playstation and Dreamcast. Also, the first level had a different song that was cut for space ("You Have a Friend in Me" was only used for the title screen on the other consoles) and the first two bosses had their music swapped in the Nintendo 64 version.
- I remember being unable to time my jumps when I was swinging from the various poles, and I would go and get an adult (mainly my uncle) to help me whenever I needed to do so.
Lol the fake timer for the paint puzzle section lol
listen, i definitely felt like a genius as a kid figuring out the paint puzzle
I like how you pitch the game as if you are testing it and giving your results to the developers.
I remember this one, I played for the PS1 when I was little, at that time I didn't speak english at all so I didn't know what was happening or what to do... but I enjoyed running around the map.
The dreaded paint can puzzle. It put my play-through at a halt when I rented this back in the day... made it to the sewer level but the rental was up.
You are an inspiration man. I’m gonna enjoy my whole life watching you beat every 64 game
Thank you 💙
There's just something special about playing a character that is the size of a toy. It reminds me of the Army Man series from back around that time. It takes me back to when I was a kid and actually pretending that my living room was the size of the grand canyon, cause I was seeing it from the toy's perspective :)
Got this game for Christmas and I loved it, spent way too much of my christmas break playing it.
I had this game on PS1 and later got it for my n64, I absolutely loved this game and got so many hours out of it, but didn't understand how to save and had to restart the game every time
This was one of those games I tried leaving the console on as a kid because I didn’t have a memory card 😆 the amount of times you cheesed the intended purpose is pretty hilarious, I never thought of those
This game was so hype I’m saddened I never beat as a kid because I didn’t own it and had to rent it at block buster and my save file was always gone
The phrase so hype will age worse than groovy or rad. I’m sincerely offering a kind word of wisdom. Let that one be a thing of the past.
@@GatCat That's so hype man.
Ahh Blockbuster, the good old days. I use to love browsing movies and games in physical shops, beats digital browsing any day
@@jasonparker346 we be dating ourselves but it was a much simpler times and better times 🥲
@@GatCat cringe
i swear i was the worst when it came to taking care of the play station discs. i treated them like i did my cartridges. but this game got the special treatment, always made sure to put this one back.
Dope as hell, dude. SO much nostalgia! I`ve watched quite a few of these now. But I can`t help but picturing Colin Robinson from What We Do In The Shadows when I hear your voice after watching that show. Anyone else see that and hear it? Haha anyways keep up the good work, man!
Really remember this game from my childhood. Was super excited when I got a copy of it from Savers years later. The levels are amazing and the platforming is so hard. the only boss I ever made it to was the robot in Andy's house. Just a great game overall.
me never owning a n64 and reading the comments puts a grin on my face seeing everyone enjoying the nostalgia of a game they played when they were kids is awesome
This is absolutely some of the best content on all of youtube. You do a fantastic amount of explanation and walking through of the games. I would like to hear some more trivia bits about the games too!
I'm 32, played this game on the PS1 back in the day and, as an adult, I got the digital download for PS3. I still play it more frequently than just "from time to time."
I absolutely adore this game.
Constructive criticism but this series has more longevity as a video that can be watched years from now. Mario Maker you watch an endless run and that’s it no ones going back to that video. Videos like these will be your bread and butter.
I remember playing this at a friend’s house. It was really fun, so I’m glad the platforming still holds up!
This was my favorite game as a child. I would play it everyday on ps1 but never got to beat it bc I was 5 or 6 at the time and had no idea memory cards existed
Looks like a really great 3D platformer. I never played it but it certainly has held up better than most of them.
5:59 you had me in the first half, ngl
Mr. Thabervowskis, what a splendid series! I do appreciate your perseverance and wit throughout this extraordinary journey dear friend.
Cringey
@@peighnesshonourchign9164, no you calling someone cringe is the real cringe
I rented this for PS1 back in the day. It was a fun game. Definitely a rare high quality licensed title.
yay! I love this game, I was super excited to watch you play this!
I loved this game as a kid. I had the PS1 version and it was one of my favorites. Thinking back to it, the levels are so creative...
Same!!!
I've always loved this game, one of my favorite on the N64 for sure.
i loved this games as a kid. although its basically just a mario 64 style game its really thematic and the level design is really good
Bruh the basic color theory 5 hour joke had me floored, then I found out my brain is inverted.
So glad you enjoyed this game. It’s one of my childhood favorites.
I love this quest to take on every n64 game. Can't wait to see them all. :)
I have so much nostalgia for this game!!
Thanks for the Nostalgia blast! I remember a time when I thought it was hard to 100%
Well, I for sure fell for the 5 hour timer gag...
This was one of my favorite games growing up.
Such a nice game! Looks like it was as enjoyable to play as it is enjoyable to watch your narration! Well done!
I remember playing this game as a kid. It was a solid game and enjoyed it greatly. Great video keep it up.
One of my favorite games! Had it on ps1 and pc
I played through this game again this year. Its one of my favorites.
Same!!!
ah the memories...i had the first level on a demo disc (ps1) and played it for years..about 20 years later, i bought the game on ebay and finally beat the whole game. it was so strange as i knew every inch of the first level but every other part of the game was totally new. love it
For anybody wondering, the PlayStation version (technically the better version due to better hardware), is on PS+ so you can enjoy this gem for low/no cost :)
The apartment arrival confusion is due to the poor translation of the movie scenes to the game, there's an impostor Buzz who follows along with the gang that the game failed to clarify, that the PS release had a full cutscene of the reveal.
Lmao that timer edit after the paint puzzle
I remember being blown away by this game as a kid. I played the SNES version of Toy Story and it wasn't anywhere near as fun as this game. We honestly thought this looked so realistic 🤣 🤣 🤣
I had no idea this game existed, but it looks like a fun playthrough.
Woo finally a game I’d be interested in lol
I still watch most of these now anyway cuz thabs commentary is so good
this the one ive been waiting for, im glad its the 69th one you played
buzz light year does some sick snic-esque platforming in the first scene of toy story one
so many memories unlocked with this one
Love these videos mate 👍
been looking forward to this one!
Keep up the good Job bro Video's are dope
It would be sweet if you had the cartridge for each game, love your content Thab!
One of my childhood favorites although I had it on PC and my friend had it on PS1. Didn't even know it was for a nintendo too.
My nephew had this game when he was little, and he enjoyed it. It does look well-made.
Slime was originally marketing as a toy by selling it in a mini garbage can, in case you're wondering where that comes from.
I think I played this on PC when I was a kid. Love the video! Thanks!
Absolutely loved this game growing up!!
TS3 never met the "toy in real life" character that this one. Those verticals were nuts. I was so frustrated as a kid, never made it based the gully level. Thank goodness for emulators with save states :)
I remember this game from when i was a kid, and gotta say i really enjoyed playing it and watching playing it too !
So Woody has been kidnapped, Buzz explores the entire house and then realizes he saw the license plate and already knows who took Woody? That's a lot of wasted time.
Lmfao when the clock changes after the 5 hour joke
I felt like I was fighting an Dark Souls boss when I faced that plane at 9 years old. It took me months but I finally beat it
this was one of my favoirte games as a kid for the n64. hope u enjoyed it as much as i did as a kid.
I can't believe Woody chose Hoes over Bros in Toy Story 4 after all this work Buzz did to save him..
Loved this game as a kid. It's super liminal lol. Subbed!
The other day my wife asked who that CZcamsr I watched with the curly hair and the monotone voice who is always in the chair in the corner and we had to scroll though all my subscriptions before I put one of your videos on and she was like this this is the guy I guess she thinks you'd be good for ASMR 😂
Aw thab you HAVE to see Toy Story 3, it's fantastic!
"sentient jackhammer" :D, nice thab
Watched every clip if this playthrough but had to watch the summary as well
I loved this game as a kid! Never got past the construction level though 😂
This game beat me as a kid. I never did beat it so this will be nice to watch. I miss this game.
I remember having a lot of fun with this game back in the day!
I remember this game from my childhood. I loved it.
What number are we thinking of??…Nice.. 😂😂😂 thanks for the content and good luck!!
“I’ve watched all 69 games in this playlist ... and I mean all of them
The twist is, I’ve watched them all in order ... and I DO know which one will be next.”
Movie video games of all time goes, GoldenEye, Peter Jacksons King King...and TOY STORY 2
This game was awesome. I still remember the soundtrack.
I played this game a little as a kid, I actually still own it, but I remember not liking it and getting frustrated. Maybe I should try it again...
I went back and beat it as a teen after being frustrated by it as a young kid. Still frustrating but definitely worth revisiting!
ThaBeast: Hopefully these are chicken bones...
Me: This sicko wants to kill the dog?
Don't feed your dogs chicken bones, kids.
I meant I hoped they weren’t human remains
A master of the brute force technique along with other talents !!
I know you're doing a lot with this challenge and it's great. Have you ever thought about reviewing new games. You seem to have a talent for writing your scripts and I think people would enjoy your opinions.
this is the best movie based game ever made. change my mind.
Agree!!!
Traveller's Tales games were always great.
Enjoyability - 7.5/10
Difficulty - 2.5/10
Playtime - 5h 27m
Nice / 394 ... love this series...
this seems like a fun game to speedrun :D
Nice! You are defeating the games I gave up on
great stuff
I think I played the 1st level on a demo disk on PlayStation. Never had an N64 but loving this series!
So many things I remember about this game yet I barely remember playing it
